Riu Aquarelle, a must visit hotel. My husband and I just returned back from the beautiful Riu Palace Aquarelle for a late anniversary celebration. What a fabulous hotel. It's new, it's clean, it's beautiful located on the beach and it has the most amazing staff and customer service. Special thank you to Shanice and Cristobal at the front office for their great customer service. Thanks to the gardener, maid service, bartenders, restaurants staff, jerk hut team, waiters and especially the entertainment team for making this resort thw best of the crop. The hotel and grounds are spotless cleaned and maintained daily. All the staff are really pleasant. We booked the Ocean view room room. The view was fantastic. Omg the beach is beautiful. Clear powered white sand. There were some rock in a certain spot bit other than that the water is turquoise with powdered sand. Food and alcohol were plentiful. The staff work tirelessly and they are always greeting you with a smile. The a la carte restaurants was a bit difficult to get reservations, but we managed to get the Italian and Steak. We were not disappointed. The buffet has so many varieties to choose from. Vegetarian, meat lovers, seafood, curries and stews, fruits, desserts, traditional Jamaican food...yoou name it ...the got it. The jerk hut was our go to at late lunch. The chicken as seasoned to perfection and the salads and rice and dumplings were tasty. We had coconut water every day we were there. We have stayed at many Riu resorts as well as many other hotel chains. This hotel is a top notch when it comes to service and staff. The entertainment was indeed the life of the hotel.. The shows and the musical were all beautifully choreographed with the talented entertainment team. We also enjoyed the live bands in the evening and the wonderful performersand singers. The reggae bands and Latin band rock in the evening . The live parties on the beach on the weekends were a hit. The resort is outstanding. The people were courteous, professional, and friendly. The buffet was fantastic. The 24hr Sports bar was a great hit for many. We saw people at night ordering wings, fries, burgers sandwiches and nachos. All in all, don't take my word for it, go see for yourself. As a regular traveller, I give this hotel a 5 star for all the things that matters the most to me....Accommodation, room view, beach, staff, customer service, entertainment, shows, hospitality, cleanliness, food, drinks, atmosphere, location and most of all the staff . Loverly hotel very clean and staff went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic Will definitely go back again.

Excellent hotel
Great hotel lovely friendly staff and excellent facilities. The rooms were well equipped, the rooms were serviced every day as was the mini bar. My only criticism and this is by no means a complaint is that it gets very busy at weekends so it’s very busy in the dining room. This is not reflection on the hotel as I suspect it’s busy in most hotels at weekends. The hotel staff worked tirelessly in the main buffet restaurant. The entertainment staff worked very hard in putting on a great show every night. The pools were busy and we found that the beach suited us better. I will say that there is not enough umbrellas for everyone and you had to be up early to secure one. All in all a lovely stay and thank you to all your lovely staff for making it a very enjoyable holiday.

Excellent vacation location
The resort is outstanding. The people were courteous, professional, and friendly. The buffet was fantastic. The restaurants were good, but the buffet was much better. The variety at the buffet satisfied everyone included in my party each day and for every meal. Room service was satisfying as well.

Amazing Stay!
RIU Aquarelle was great. The food was good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will certainly return!

Was eager to try the RIU Aquarelle, following visits to other sites. I felt that although new, this one was a little smaller for the amount of guests that can be accommodated. I was there in a slower part of the season, so wonder what it would be like during busier periods. Great room sizes, excellent staff, beautiful views. Didn’t try the specialty restaurants, but the buffets were ok. A bit smaller overall in size to the amount of guests. People couldn’t leave hungry whatsoever, but don’t understand at RIU Hotels, why the food is only lukewarm and repetitive. Mildly better Jamaican food section than other RIU’s I’ve been to. Not sure of the logistics, but room service is available, but choice is sparse. Would be great if it were possible to get hot food. The 24hr Sports bar is different from other sites, as you can’t heat up snacks using microwaves. You can however order, wings, burgers, hotdogs, nachos, fries, to be brought to your seating area. I like the idea of this, and maybe it’s just me, but I’ll never understand (when being told it could be a 15-30 minute wait in busy periods), why food is being done fresh, and it still comes out lukewarm? I felt the pool areas were good but a bit small for the amount of guests that could be accommodated. Also feel there should be more washroom facilities nearer to the sea. Overall, an enjoyable stay
