My worst Riu experience
I have been going to Riu Hotels with friends and family exclusively since 2021, and this by far was the worst experience we’ve ever had. The crazy part is that I stayed at Riu reggae (which is 25 min. away) in 2023 and the difference is night and days. There were so many things that went wrong: The service: At many of the other locations that I have been. The team prides themselves in great service to their guests, being friendly, catering to all your needs thoughtfully and fast. This place is very different, their service is similar to the one you will get at a McDonald. For example, the second night we were there, I booked a romantic dinner on the beach for me and my lady for $200. I was told that a photographer would be taking our photos for free in that package. What ended happening was that it took over 3 hours for the surf and turf to come. The shrimp was burnt and the steak was cold. And the next day, we had to pay $20 for each photo that the photographer took. The food was subpar for most part . Jerk Station and sports bar was good tho. At dinners, instead of showing up to one of the restaurants to get a seat, we now had to use the app. The app is very inconvenient and has many limitations. The seats were almost always gone, and when it wasn’t, you were allowed to only seat 2 people. If you are in group bigger than 2 people, it’s best to go the buffet. One of the main things I noticed as well is their limitations on fruits. At the buffet they typically had like around 4 generic fruits. No mangos or local fruits. Several of the food items tasted like packaged food that were microwaved. Entertainment: Entertainment is also one of the places that this place also come short in. There no nightclubs in the resort as they usually have. There’s no white party/ Neon party at the resort either, but they do expect you to travel over 2 hours (total) to Ocho Rios to attend the white/neon party at their resort there. Which is crazy IMO, especially when Riu Palace Montego is way closer. Adult pool in the city evening was the best entertainment they had. Overall, this trip wad a big letdown, and definitely have our family rethinking staying at Rius altogether in the future.

I’d definitely revisit
I only spent one night but I’d definitely go back . I didn’t get to explore the entire property but what I experienced was more than enough to have me revisit . I’m doing a Jamaica Trip in 2025 , open to locals and international travelers and I’m considering this property to be apart of the trip !

Amazing place!!
This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed everyone made you feel welcome literally from the first second we walked in we got handed some fruit punch… lovely. The entertainment team are fantastic, Romaine, Mango, Jaguar, Miguel and the whole team are amazing always making effort with everyone and having a laugh. The food also was great and bar stuff I couldn’t fault. Great place I will be back!!

Riu review
Our girls trip to Riu Aquarelle was amazing! We had so much fun. The staff were amazing they make you feel very welcomed like family Rooster and Orlando were our favorite! Rooms were clean, parties were fun. We didn’t get to try any restaurant besides the buffet and sports bar during our stay, everything was booked.
