    Lovely stay!

    Firstly the hotel has just been renovated and looks great when you first arrive. Very modern and lots of amenities. Rooms are bright and spacious and the food is good especially the jerk chicken hut. However the housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. Never cleaned properly and the mini bar was stocked just twice in our weeks visit even after several attempts at reception to ask if they could do it in the end we just gave up. Absolutely 5 star animation team. Full of energy and so hard working. Thanks guys.

    100% coming back! - listen to feedback!

    Positives - Aesthetically pleasing no doubt about that. - As we arrived the day after it opened we got room upgrades - a bonus! - The entertainment! they work sooo hard throughout the day as well as putting on a great show on the evenings. without them the hotel would be dry! - The food options were nice but..... go to negatives lol - The cleaners...again wow! our room was spotless everyday! they also left towel creations for us when we got back too! the mini bar and fridge was always re stocked. - the cleaners around the hotel were really good too! - the music around the pool areas was needs to be a little louder. - the cocktail menu was great ....but....go to negatives lol - the gift shop was awesome so much to choose from, wether it be snacks, snorkel kit or just souvenirs. - the reggae band was great! - Water activities were awesome but they're all advertised as free/included - catamaran boat is around £60 - dunns river tour - 9 till 1:30 - free drinks and 40 mins snorkel - snorkel kit is only for an hour on rental for a fee. - the kayaking and pedal boat was awesome and free! - the jerk hut was yummy - needs to be open for longer and his portions are too big! a lot of people wasted chicken. - the spa was sooooo beautiful! we spent 3 hours in there at one point lol - the gym was ok - the water park! 10/10 needs tone advertised more!!!!!!!!!! - the restaurants - great idea and beautifully decorated ....well done but.....go to negatives - the pool foam party was amazing!!! - the Michale Jackson show....amazing!!!!! negatives - guests need to feel like they are in Jamaica more - More JAMAIACAN FOOD!!!!!!! Theres a TINY section of about 4-5 serving dishes of jamaican food. theres more European food than anything, which I get. they have to accommodate to everyones taste. - in the restaurants, theres no music playing at all you can hear is everyone else's conversations or just your own. - PLAY SOME REGGAE INSTRUMENTALS in the background softly. it would make a difference to the atmosphere. - The air con in the restaurants - Put it on low! its like being in the arctic!!! - A lot of the time when asking staff for simple things- you would just get shrugged shoulder sand a 'I don't know' so they definitely need some customer service training. for example we asked why the hot pool wasn't hot like the day before....shrugged shoulders and a ' I don't know' not even a solution...or I will get maintenance to look. she was the manager. -we asked why there wasn't any soya milk at the bar by the main stage as we don't drink cows milk for medical reasons......shrurgged shoulders again and a 'I don't know' not even 'I will go and get some for you' just a I dont know. this needs to change. - the wifi in our room didnt work at first, we told reception...2nd day told reception , 3rd day told reception.... still nothing. thanks to Leighton he stepped up and made it a priority and got the Spanish IT team to make it a priority too. - THE POOLS - your not allowed to take floats into any of the pools...this isnt fair to anybody. TWICE in two different areas we got kicked out of the pools because I had a rubber ring....BOTH occasions me my husband ,mom and cousin were the only people in the MASSIVE pool.this killed our vibe! - on one of the weekends there was an offer for the local Jamaicans, thats fine! prepared for it next time Riu echo rios. the food ran out and there was no where to sit. it wasn't a great feeling. - more staff needed in the main eating hall - they struggled for the whole 2 weeks. they had 1 person to attend a really large section thats not good enough when theres 50 plus people to a section and tables need cleaning or eating on all the time! -I noticed that the floor got swept in the main hall but didnt really get mopped softer a week or so the floor was nice and clean as it looked at the start of the holiday. were the collection trolleys sit clearly dont get mopped, it looks grimey. - more reggae music! lovers rock, culture, anything really. we wanted to feel like we was out of the hotel while being in the hotel. - we did a scuba diving lesson in the far pool opposite then spa.....maaaaann. whoever's job it is to vacuum the pools clearly isn't doing a good job because that specific pool is cloudy and full of insects.

    Absolutely incredible from start to finish! We had the best butlers, Scott and Camille! They thought of everything, from dinner reservations, to transportation, to packing a cooler for our excursions, and they even surprised us with a romantic bubble bath. It really was wonderful! The Rimeo and Juliet rooms are breathtaking. The staff is so friendly, helpful, caring, and let's not forget FUN! We cant wait to come back, and yes...we booked our return!

    We stayed here for a week out of our 3 week visit. This place has been refurbished and is fantastic, they cater for their customers needs. The welcome was fabulous! The staff are friendly and courteous. The rooms were immaculately clean. A variety of food to choose from. Did not get to the water park because the beach was perfect! Everything about our stay was perfect, even the evening entertainment. Will definitely do it again! 10/10

    When it’s good it’s good but when it’s bad it’s BADD !! FRONT DESK STAFF USELESS AND DONT CARE

    I arrived home yesterday from staying at the hotel , I stayed here last year and loved it which is why I returned, I thought this trip would be even better as the hotel was being refurbishment! We arrived after 14 hours travelling the first impression of the new look hotel was very good everything looked beautiful and very modern, got in line to check in which was fast as we got to the top of the queue and was giving a cold drink which was great ! Checked in and got to our room as soon as we opened the door there was a STRONG smell of damp/mold , we called reception from the room to tell them spoke to a girl who listened to what I had to say then hung up I called back twice and as soon as she heard me say hello hung up again , we had to make the long trip back down to reception and speak to them, as soon as we said the room stank the manager offered us another room without any questions she said she would have one or her staff go to the new room and make sure it was ok then bring us the key , this took like a hour so when we got to the new room they had the air con and fan on to help air out the room , this room still had the same smell but wasn’t as strong so we accepted the room and unpacked, they obviously had the room airing out and that’s why the smell wasn’t as bad ! We went and had dinner went back to the room and it was the STRONG smell of damp/mold back again this smell made your eyes water , so back to reception and we were told nothing can be done we can change rooms but all rooms would be the same we paid extra money for a deluxe room and apparently all rooms have the same issue !!! We could downgrade to the other side of the hotel which would be a smaller room but no refund would be given ! Anyway we spoke to TUI rep he said the same thing we can change rooms but same issue so we just had to accept it , so we just did and tried to enjoy the holiday we spoke to our housekeeper Shawne she was amazing and so helpful really made our holiday better) she sprayed our room every day and this really helped the smell which was fantastic. Anyway we loved the hotel and the new layout the pools was amazing and the beach was like paradise the hotel wasn’t really that busy but probably due to time of year , the entertainment staff was full of life and the shows each night was good ! The bar staff at the pool was amazing and really made our holiday much more enjoyable thanks to Sandra, Kenroy and Nashswn !!! They are so much fun and look after the guests well they will be the only reason we return to the hotel ! The food in the hotel is good and there is something to suit everyone we tried all the restaurants and loved the steak restaurant! On our last morning we woke up at 7am with a flood in the bathroom/ bedroom the toilet had flooded and the water and you can guess what else (faeces) was EVERYWHERE we called reception and was told there was no one in the hotel to help until 8am as maintenance didn’t start until 8am (which we later found out was lies as there was 24hour maintenance) the faeces water was over all our suitcases, clothes, shoes, bedding and our feet, the flood was that bad the water was going out into the corridor and next doors room we had to use towels, the bed sheets and blankets to try and stop the water, we called reception again to stress the urgency of the flood and they weren’t interested, and hung up again, we kept ringing and they wouldn’t answer, I walked along the corridor and found a housekeeper called romaine he came instantly and got stuck in and helped right away he turned the water off and started helping manage the water he asked for help and 2 other housekeepers came to help, we told him we were checking out that morning and need to shower and use the toilet he done his best to get the bathroom cleaned but it wasn’t bleached we were so thankful for his help as he really done his best!! We called reception again to ask for a room that we could use the toilet jenell from reception told us we were checking out that day so they wouldn’t be giving us another room bare in mind we were covered in faeces water , I really expected more from RUI and a so called 5 star hotel, we later found out that there was a spare room 2 rooms away which we could have used ! We went home feeling dirty and our belongings soaked on the 10 hour flight home I started vomiting and hoping that I haven’t caught something from this disgusting faeces invested water !!!!!!!
