This was exactly what we were looking for, the buffet was very good (fresh and hot) staff were very nice and helpful, ocean was clean and we were able to walk along the beach for hours, our rooms was clean and maid service was perfect No matter where your room is you are never far from the beach 20 minute taxi ride to Ricks Café Definitely recommend this resort
Wonderful Jamaican getaway
We enjoyed an all-inclusive stay at this wonderful hotel with spacious rooms. We enjoyed a beachfront room and mini-bar at no charge. The mantra was "Ya Man! No problem!" and that was the case with our stay. We enjoyed the food and drinks, the beach, and pools. Next time, we'll have to stay a while longer!
Me and my husband stayed here for 11 nights and all I can say is wow! This place is paradise the hotel staff and entertainment team was amazing helpful chatty. You can just chill out or join in the entertainment. Rick's cafe is a must and a visit to the 7 mile beach is amazing aswel. The rooms cleaned every day and fresh towels including beach towels . The food is amazing and the locals love to talk to you we cant wait to go again.
We went to Negril as a pre honey moon as we get married Xmas Eve so went for some much needed relaxation. We arrived after a 10 n half hour plane ride and 3 hour bus journey as the traffic was horrendous, (on the way home took us a hour n 20 mins) we was quickly seated and given our room, it was easy to find and we had a pool view, there’s 4 pools 3 big ones and I kids one very clean to we always went to the quite pool as the others was very busy and I wanted relaxation, the beds are Hugh and cleaned daily and fridges stocked up every 2 days although if u run outta wanted reception will happily give u big bottles to replenish your fridge you get 2 bottles of water 2 big bottles of real coke and 2 bottle of diet are zero 2 bottles of BIGGA it’s orange and 2 soda waters and also the cabinets with alcohol in, vodka real Smirnoff, whiskey, gin and rum and also 4 red stripe at a time, There’s air on which is so cold it’s fab and a massive fan over your bed which alone you need sheet at night for it’s that cool. There’s 2 bars on the beach for beers cocktails and sodas and a Jerk chicken bar on the beach u can use as many times as u want and then go into the buffet and add chips salad ect to it but the jerk sauce is mighty and red hot lol, there’s 4 restaurants on sight but only only on certain days not all open together The Chinese buffet is amazing The steak house is amazing and the steak is massive although u can also have chicken, you get a started of Cesar salad, a combo dish with chick wings onions rings and battered mushroom only 2 each but then you get soup which is half potato and half tomatoe it’s so good and taste beaut and a bread roll, then your meal and the steaks massive then cheese cake The French restaurant we didn’t go in cos it said u had t dress in long trousers and my husband to be didn’t take any then on last day saw that everyone has shorts on we was so pissed of Then the Italian, this is a good eating place to The breakfast buffet is American style and u get everything from doughnuts to French bread chirrous and syrup cakes breads you name it it’s there!! The lunch menus great to, from soup to pasta, the stews are to die for The dinner buffet is good to always piping hot and there’s every sushi you can think of and prawns, my only niggle would be is that u can’t seam to string a meal together, no veg are anything that’s my only niggle, they serve u any drinks you want. The cocktails are great but wow so strong but good, there’s a doctor on sight all day everyday, She was great my hubby to bes sugar rose so high and she got him right straight away with no charge she was fantastic, you get a free check with her anyway before you have to pay anything, there’s shops on sight but on the beach little hits although they r very pushy but if u say no there ok, but u can barter the price right down, and they will just say ok lol, the seas crystal clear you get fish and crabs just walking past you and don’t bother you, u can buy fresh crab are lobster straight of the BBQ, there’s a lot of drug dealers trying to sell you weed and Cocaine just say no they give u respect, (are if u wanna buy it they will sell it you) you can go on day trips but if u go to ricks cafe get a taxi from reception they only charge you €30 return and there back for you bang on time and your safe as houses where as the catamarange wants to charge you €60 each!!! You can go out of the complex and your so safe so don’t be scared , The life guards and gardeners offer them a drink from the bar on the sand it’s free for you and there so so grateful honest, we did everyday And they guzzle it down bless em. Leave the maids n cleaners a tip n they will look after you real good, I only took £200 between us in Jamaican dollars and we had money left there’s nothing to but apart from bits of crap, we used Jamaican dollars and got more for our cash. You won’t be disappointed. It’s the dream place and I can’t wait to go back. The spas are expensive so I didn’t have one lol. There’s a 24 hours sports bar that serves burgers hotdogs natchos salad popcorn and cakes and alcohol all night they also serve tea and coffee if your a early bird lol, there’s a foam party once a week and the entertainment at nights good ,
Going for 3
This was my 2nd time to the Riu Negril and I had as much fun as the first. Checking in was a breeze and I was immediately escorted to my room. After taking a short time to settle in, I was out to get lunch and then walked the beach to see if I saw any faces from my last visit. It's normal in this industry that the employees come and go, so it was wonderful that I actually found 3 that I recognized and believe it or not, they remembered me. Here if you cannot find something at the buffet that you like you are too picky. The food is really good! And the drinks are not watered down. The Riu Negril is small enough to feel like home, but large enough to not feel crowded. The grounds and beach are clean and groomed daily with plenty of lounges, sun and shade. I want to give a shout out to some new friends: Simone, Measha and Seseka from the Renover Spa; Paul the bartender that serves courage in a glass; John Wayne at the transportation desk (thanks for keeping me company); the lady's that work in the gift shops (keep dancing); the lady (sorry I didn't get your name) that cleaned my room, thank you; Captain Jack what a big sweetheart; Tiny with the entertainment group (keep smiling lady) and if you want a great photo find my friend Akeem. Upper management remember the people mentioned above and many others are the reason guests will return. As I will return and soon. One word to the wise ONLY take the new US currency, if you have a bill older than the desk supervisor he will not cash it.
