AMAZING hotel. We didn't have the best weather, rain 4 out of 7 days. The entertainment team was fantastic. Supplied extra activities for all to join in. The evening shows were out of this world. High-class acts. Hotel very clean, rooms very large and comfortable. Highly recommended

This is our 3rd Riu. We like them to be easy to get around and so on. First, your staff, wait staff, and front desk are all first-rate. My husband always has a favourite at each resort, Paula in Rose Hall, for breakfast is his new fav! What a sweetheart, always joking and smiling. As for the app, making reservations doesn't seem to work for me for the Italian, but the gal at the desk always fit us in. We enjoyed the Asian food a few times over the 2 weeks there. The Rose Hall Buffet worked out well for many meals, something different, if you're willing to try something different. The beach is okay, a little small, but when your country is getting snow, I will take the beach anyday. Yes, the rooms are a little plain, but I didn't spend all that much time in them, and they were cleaned, and I never saw bugs. We don't do evening entertainment as not our thing, so I can't comment on it. We did walk over to the mall, and yes, people kind of bother you, say no thanks and keep walking, you'll be okay. Met some nice people from all over, which was a nice change from only Canadians and Americans that seem to do the Mexico Rius.

Jan 31, 2026Worst hotel I have ever experienced. Everything has to be done online and then they lose the online reservations.
The hotel resembles a large industrial complex with cafeteria style food. More people than the beach or pool could ever accommodate .

This is a very lively party Hotel if that’s what you’re looking for then it’s ideal, buffet restaurant adequate but light refilling at times staff seem reluctant to help when asked to refill. Best restaurants we found were kulanari and the Italian. Jerome stretching/yoga everyday was good, missing it already. A big shout out for all the entertainment staff with their shows in the evening all the hard work, energy and effort they put in unbelievable, name a few Rika, Masquita, TT, Roly Poly, Susie Q, baby Shark, Dale, Brian, Astro, Kevaughn and Cordell, hope spelling ok😀 Waiting staff and bar staff were great no complaints. There are some quiet areas you can find on the beach and also of an evening in the sports bar quite a bit quieter than the main bar with all the entertainment.

ESPECTACULAR!!!!
Spectacular!!!! The people working there were the best , O'Brian the bartender, the waiters, Leicy the entertainment director, mosquito the entertainer worker , Shani que the Nexus agent , and all of the rest, excellent people, too professional ,too focused, ADMIRABLE!!!!! The food was fantastic , we will be back to this hotel for sure !!! CONGRATS!!!
