Check-in Policy - Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds.

Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.

Hotel Spring Break Policies - At least one person 21 years or older is required in every room during the months of February through May. During the remainder of the year, at least one person 18 years or older is required in every room.

The Hotel reserves the right of admission and may request a guest present his/her passport or official ID as proof of age. Guests can and will be removed from the property, at their own expense, if any disturbance or complaint from other guests or hotel staff arises. Parties in rooms are not permitted. Unruly behavior by individuals or groups is not allowed at any property at any time during the year.

    Cats, cats, cats and more cats all over the property

    Hotel RIU is in desperate need of an upgrade. I was shocked when they gave us physical keys for our room.We had an oceanview room in building 6. The "king" bed was actually 2 doubles pushed together and it sucked!! The shower has no lighting and is dark. The sheer curtains under the drapes leading to the patio of our room were just plain fllthy as was the bed skirt. The staff at the resort is constantly seen cleaning and aside from the previously mentioned items the staff did a good job cleaning our room. In my opinion the food at the buffet was best. The steak at the steak restaurant was mediocre at best and we did not bother with the other 2 restaurants. Drinks were okay but if you want any top shelf liquor bring your own. You could typically find loungers all day near the pool but the prime locations were gone by 9 a.m. Beach area is nothing to brag about but served the purpose. We had a couples massage on the beach and it was fantastic.......The resort has a ton of cats roaming around. I am allergic to cats and disliked the fact that cats were walking all around and under the loungers when I was at the pool. On another note across the street (walking distance) where the Harley Davidson store is there is a grocery store upstairs that sells Sangsters Rum Cream for $11. There are also souvenir shops over there as well as a carry out restaurant called Ralphs that all of the locals was good

    Excellent customer service

    The best experience I’ve ever had. The staff and hotel service was excellent. I would highly recommend the Riu Montego Bay to anyone wanting a wonderful travel experience. The entertainment staff were excellent. Shampoo, Monique, Sunshine, Chocolate, Rolly Polly , and everyone who entertained us we’re memorable. Orione, you were all special and in our hearts.

    Great stay!

    This hotel was great, the staff are so friendly and work incredibly hard for the guests! The rooms are very clean, the staff is super friendly, grounds are nice and well kept and the pools are beautiful. As far as food, The jerk chicken on the beach is amazing for lunch. The buffets are average, but the selection is huge and we never had a problem finding good choices. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing stay in Jamaica!

    Horrific customer service

    Disastrous customer service at the @riumontegobay I booked five nights with my wife at the @riumontegobay and then I later booked one extra night to stay in my parents suite. There were about 70 of us staying at the resort. Yesterday, at the checkout time for the original booking of five nights, I checked out with my wife. I showed them my documentation that I was supposed to move to my parents room. Three employees struggled to figure it out on the computer. All interaction was friendly and respectful. Eventually, they gave me back my original room keys an and told me that I was to stay in my original room. I went back to my room, moved my luggage back to the room after I moved it to my parents suite. The reception called my room because they thought I had checked out. I explained the situation and they said it is all good. They called back 15 minutes later and I said we could talk at the reception. I showed all of my papers to Natoya Thompson including my original reservation, my parents reservation, and all email communication with the travel agency @chictravelbotique. All interaction was respectful and friendly. She talked with someone on the phone and said that I was good to go in my room. I left thinking it was resolved. Today, at check out, Natoya Thompson now insists that I now owe the resort an extra day. I reminded her of all of the communication yesterday, including me showing her personally the documentation. She insisted that I pay. I told her that she could call the police if she thought that there was a theft. She refused. I told her that I was walking out of resort and I began walking out of the resort. She called security. Security initially blocked my path and then grabbed my arm. I said, "do not touch me. Do not assault me." She moved her hand to my bag. I repeated, "do not touch me, do not assault me." She held on until I kept walking and she eventually let go. I walked out of the resort. At all times, I was responsive, respectful, open with all communication, and cooperative. If they were concerned yesterday, they had four opportunities to resolve it with me. We talked. It is not right to apply these extra charges the next day and treat me like a criminal. I understand that the employees might have been confused yesterday and were just doing their job today. Regardless, this was horrific treatment.

    Riu Montego Bay

    Love this resort and the entertainment crew. This is why we come back. Glad to hear it is going to do an upgrade as it is needed for sure but it didn't stop us from having an amzing time as always!!! We renewed our vows here and everything was beyond excellent.
