Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.

Hotel Spring Break Policies: At least one person 21 years or older is required in every room during the months of February through May. During the remainder of the year, at least one person 18 years or older is required in every room.
The Hotel reserves the right of admission and may request a guest present his/her passport or official ID as proof of age. Guests can and will be removed from the property, at their own expense, if any disturbance or complaint from other guests or hotel staff arises. Parties in rooms are not permitted.     Worse resort

    I realize a lot of people visit this resort because it was quite full when I visited in July. My experience however was not good . First off the room was very musty and dank , bugs were in the room. And the dark bedding made the room even more depressing and not very inviting. The double occupancy rooms had two beds pushed together to look like a king size bed, which looked ridiculous if you wanted to separate them. Let’s go to the gym because some people like to exercise on vacation, well the gym stunk and it was not from the people in the gym, it was just an odour that was gross. The food, I honestly believe they were rationing the food because it seem to be the same crap all the time, if you wanted to experience Jamaican food forget it because they had no variety. The jerk station regularly ran out of Jerk chicken. The bartenders were rude, and seem to limiting the amount of alcohol they put in the drinks. Generally all the wait staff were nice. The people at reception were not very friendly either and let’s not talk about the towel person just RUDE. I got a second degree burn in the cafeteria went to on site nurse she was just useless did not help in anyway, I had to demand some cream for the burn showed no concern at all. Overall best part of trip was off this resort 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT.

    Just ok

    It’s day 2 on my trip. This is our first time trying a Riu as I always thought they looked nice and most reviews appeared good. Maybe I’m expecting more but here is what is causing me to say I probably wouldn’t book a Riu again... I was looking forward to breakfast as most buffets at all inclusives are very good. This one was disappointing. They advertise that they serve until 10:30 but what they SHOULD advertise is that they serve until things run out. When we got to the eggs and bacon station, they were out of lots of things and never replenished. We arrived at 10:00 and they never restocked the things they were out of. I’m also surprised there aren’t people serving drinks on the beach. And the beach has no umbrellas or cabanas so you have to get there early to get a spot in the shade. All restaurants are buffet style, even the themed ones. The staff themself seem friendly. My issues are more with the corporate decisions such as deciding NOT to have beach service, NOT to have umbrellas at the beach, to only do buffets, and NOT to replenish dishes if you are open for another half hour. Overall, the resort seems clean and staff are friendly but I probably wouldn’t book a Riu as I feel you don’t get what you paid for.

    I recently just visited RIU montego bay with my bestfriends family and it was such an amazing time. The entertainment team was AMAZING. so entertaining, so caring about our time there, and very interactive. All of them were so talented and fun but two people stuck out the most to us on our trip and that was Dynamite and Kemstarr. These two guys were constantly making us laugh and including us in all the fun. Our trip was made because of these people! The hotel was so beautiful and had a lot of activities throughout the day to participate in. I miss our new jamaican family already! Hopefully we will be back!

    Worse than a Motel 6

    I wish I would of listened to the reviews on here but they were so mixed I didn’t. To start the Rui staff is the most unfriendly people I’ve ever met in my life. There is no hospitality at this resort from check in to check out. Dirty is an understatement. Food at the three restaurants there was the only decent food there. Buffet was 3 out 10. I have never wrote a review on anything ever that’s how much I was disappointed in this place. Been to Rui in Cabo and it was fantastic not sure how this place is so incredibly horrible. Not exaggerating I promise. I’ve been to Iberostar in Rivera Cancun and Punta Cana and after this week that is where I’ll return to .. Rui will never get our money again..,...wish there was a 0 star

    Wonderful Customer Service Experience

    So, I originally booked for the Hotel RIU Montego Bay, but after some research I decided I wanted to upgrade to the RIU Palace. I booked through an agency and they told me that I would need to try to upgrade at the time of arrival. I arrived to Hotel RIU Montego Bay around 11:30am and can I just tell you from the start of my arrival the experience was painless & the staff was so helpful and accommodating. Special thanks to the beautiful Ms. Rashaun Lee (Front Desk Supervisor), she was AWESOME & AMAZING! She was so patient, kind, and understanding. The entire process ended up taking approximately 2 hours because they had to complete the transaction through my agency. She facilitated the calls and ensured that the emails were sent to the appropriate persons so that the process could be expedited. I brought my mom to Jamaica 🇯🇲 to celebrate her 60th BIRTHDAY! Without Ms. R. Lee even knowing about the occasion, she was determined to make the upgrade possible to ensure my happiness...that’s GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! During our visit we enjoyed the amenities of the shows as well as the NightClub at Hotel RIU Montego Bay, which were both awesome! Overall pleased again with the RIU!!!!!!!!!!!!
