Hotel Riu Lupita, would repeat. Loved it.
I went with my 26 and 15 year old sons for two weeks over easter.Brilliant price we got it for. Felt really safe here, all gated areas so cars and coaches and people at check at check points. We had a ground floor room between both pools.Did have damp problem in our room had to dry the bed sheets every nite.Nobody else seem to come across this, we were offered a different room but we were all settled and like where we were. You will find this hotel has loads of coatis running around. Your not ment to feed them as can be a pest but most people love them. Dont leave food or drinks about as they will steel anything sweet. Food good, everywhere very clean, three different restaurants also bookable over your stay. Great cocktails. Free beach bus that also goes to shopping centre. We had one afternoon where it pours down and thundered for about two hours, then sun out again. Temp stayed around 29/30 over our time here.Same days the beach had bad seaweed then other days pretty good, very windy down there by beautiful sea views. You can walk down to the beach by going just out the hotel and right walking on the path along the golf course. Foams party every Tuesday run by Cocobongo in the pool it was great fun. Friday nights the was Neon night one week then white party night the following week. So dont forget to dress up. This at the sister hotel free bus there and back again, not late about 11pm. Free face painting and glowsticks or flashing head wear. When on some amazing trips. Loved it.
Very nice place
Great Warm welcoming not to over busy and loudly great family place to stay 3 restaurants so u can find lots to choice from not next to beach but private bus take u there and back also restaurant at beach so u can still get food and drink there
I would not recommend Riu Lupita for singles who are active or enjoy partying. There isn't resort entertainment and activities other than 1 show a night that can be provocative and inappropriate for small children. A friend was ill and puked in one of their towels and had to pay 300 pesos equivalent to $15+ US dollars. What if it was the sheets or mattress? Would they charge for that also? The birds are swarming everywhere for food and there are these family of animals that look like cats and raccoons of different sizes combined walking around wherever they please because they are suppose to be harmless. They are free to come in the open patio dining areas. If the wait staff doesn't clean your plate up right away, the animals will be there to do it for you. Lastly, Dimar who works at the front desk wouldn't call for a manager when ask to do so when we wanted to dispute the towel charge. Vacations are suppose to be enjoyable or relaxing. I wouldn't return for another visit and if any of these things in this review concerns you, I would recommend you go elsewhere.
INSECURE, POOR/DEFICIENT SERVICE, BAD WIFI
FAR FROM BEING A 5*, its a generous 3* superior or very very low 4*. My family and I stayed from the 12-19th July at the Riu Lupita and it was a nightmare in terms of service. I grew up in Mexico, and all my life i'd known Mexicans to be cordial and amazing with service, always aiming to please; but the RIU LUPITA is no example of it. INSECURE: drugs were being sold at the properties private beach, the security guards from the hotel knew this, and no one did anything. Right next to our lounge chairs at the beach, the "necklace" guy came into the property and started dealing with a guest of the hotel. Children were all over. They offered cocain and marihuana. A couple of minutes later the local police came from the beach with a 4x4 motorcycle (someone must have alerted them), and we saw the hotel guard alerting the people who sold trips (also inside the hotel property), trying to inform their colleagues that the police was around. UNACCEPTABLE! SERVICE: COMPLETELY DEFICIENT! Always NO if we asked something, bad humored and RUDE people, LYING receptionists (we had several incidents that we reported and when we spoke to the hotel manager we ended up noticing all the LIES told). Also, At the buffet for instance, if the tortillas were finished they would send you to the other end of the buffet, then they would say no, and send you back to the other end! WIFI: for a 5 star only wifi available, WHEN there was connection was at the door of the buffet restaurant. Again THIS IS NOT A 5*. You don't even get a SOAP bar replaced in the room. You get soap and shampoo all in one in those shower dispensers, where are all the amenities for a 5*!?????!!! POSITIVES: would be unfair NOT to mention what WAS good. The food in general very nice, especially the MEXICAN food, amazing, though after this experience, I will NEVER stay at a RIU HOTEL. ( i have in the past, never again)
GIRLS TRIP 2019
Resort is about 50min drive from airport. The resort has a very small outdated lobby. If you enjoy animals then this is the place for you. I was totally turned off by the animals/birds just freely wandering. They are even bold enough to climb on the tables where people were eating taking their food and run. It's very small, nothing like RUI TEQUILA. The rooms are small, beds uncomfortable and the toilet runs. They do a good good at maintaining the resort on the outside. The dining area is small, food was ok, pretty much same selection everyday. There is a dining area next to the main that was better with selections. The drinks are very sugary and gets watery. If you have a credit for a Spa please read carefully (only applies to $100+). Be sure to find out ALL details about any excursions you do. Not much to do outside the resort, shopping for souvenirs is close by otherwise boring entertainment. Although price is inexpensive, put a few hundred more with it and get something better. I give a thumbs down😏😏😏.
