We came to this hotel for a wedding. This particular location was quite far from the airport and far from anything else. You would have to uber or take a taxi to take into the city, which was kind of a pain. The rooms were very clean, and mostly fully stocked. Had to call for toilet paper a few times. The buffet food was good, the staff at the buffet and the bars were beyond amazing. Didn’t find the restaurants to be anything special, rather eat at the buffet. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of Mexican food, I was expecting a variety of tacos and more options at the buffet. The wedding was beautiful, however I was disappointed with the coordinator for not stopping people from crossing the beach while pictures were being taken, it was very frustrating. The reception was great, food was amazing, and the staff that worked that day, made it even more memorable. Another thing, there wasn’t a lot of actual beach, and unfortunately a lot of seaweed. And no room service. Overall, it’s a great hotel, can book lots of activities, good food and amazing service. There is room for improvement, but I’d give them a 7.5/10.

This was our 1st time staying here and it was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again. Beds were not all that comfortable though.

Family Stay
The hotel was wonderful, exactly what we were looking for. The service, food & drinks were all great. They keep the resort very clean which was wonderful to see. The splash park for our son was a huge hit. The beach was clean. Lots of options for pools and bars. We only had one complaint and that was the bed wasn't overly comfortable, but was not terrible. We will be coming back again!

Worse hotel. We went to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and when I asked the reception if we could do something special, they just pointed to the pools or beach and nothing else. We have been to Mexico many times, but this trip really made it upsetting. We got a really bad room and not even acknowledging our anniversary celebration. Other hotels give you a champagne welcome to celebrate, but this one, nothing. Do not take pictures with the photographers as they will be super friendly, but when it’s time to purchase, they will turn on you if you don’t buy the whole package. This was the worst and most ridiculous, rudest experience. We booked a photographer to take some pictures for our anniversary, and when we went to choose the pictures, the head manager of the sales asked us to hurry up choosing as he didn’t have all day, and that’s because we chose only to get 6 pictures from them. Mind you, each picture is $20 USD, and the whole package was over $1,400 USD . The treatment was the worst ever and felt like changing hotels right away. You can go visit the sister hotel beside which is also a RIU but cannot use any of their restaurants or pools. This hotel is not a 5-star hotel but more like a 3. The entertainment is the worst… the only good performance was the Mexico show. Michael Jackson rotates, so the week we were there, it wasn’t playing but had nothing good to replace. It’s a boring hotel by 10, nothing to do, and the club is small and empty. Will never return to a RIU ever and not for a long time to Mexico.

Vacation
Our weeks stay at Riu Dunamar was outstanding. Our room was spotless, the staff were very friendly and polite.The restaurants had a variety of food and offered everything you could possibly want to eat.The pools offered a variety of activities that were fun and entertaining. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone interested in visiting Cancun
