On arrival the wristbands were put on efficiently but we were left to look at the map to find the room. The room was kept clean but was tired, our air con dripped onto the floor day and night... They "fixed" it twice... We had to put towels on the floor.. Also the toilet was leaking ( room 2510). The complex is huge, the pools are big, the swim up bar was dirty, people not moving out of the water all day.. Lots of people smoking in the pool, disgusting. Staff in the Colonial restaurant were friendly... All Inc food was a bit samey after two weeks, the other restaurants weren't air conditioned and thus uncomfortable to eat in. Entertainment staff worked very hard... We loved "Doris" the dance teacher.. Thank you! The evening shows were poor. The pool parties were fantastic, great light shows and outfits, dancers... Brilliant, we had a great time at All of them. The bar service was very good but we noticed some people were getting served under the counter drinks (premium brands) locals and big tippers? We were not happy about being treated differently. The beach was stunning.. Plenty of beds.
Amazing holiday. Definitely recommended
It’s our last day at this wonderful resort. We can honestly say it’s been one of the best holidays we have had. The food has been delicious with a variety of 7 restaurants to choose from. We especially liked the Asian and Steak house. The drinks are served in real glasses at the main bar and we cannot fault the cleanliness. The staff work tirelessly to maintain this huge resort working day and night cleaning and maintaining the beautiful gardens. We upgraded to a deluxe room which was well worth the extra money. We had a room right next to the beautiful beach and pool. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. The air con and ceiling fan kept our room lovely and cool. There is no kettle in the room so we took a travel kettle and used the tea and coffee sachets from the restaurants. Thanks Riu and your great staff for making our holiday one to remember 🤗
Helpful staff, great choice of food, beautiful resort - what’s not to love? Had a lovely time there for our anniversary. But recommend this particular Rui, staff helpful especially Lopez at reception. Nothing was too much trouble
Ignore all bad reviews
We stayed here as a couple for 1 week from 25th sept. We were worried about the reviews after booking but decided to go ahead with our holiday anyway and I am so glad that we did. The hotel was exactly what we hoped it would be, it was immaculately clean, modern and all staff were as polite and helpful as possible. The food was actually the best all inclusive that I have eaten, we went to different restaurants each night and all were delicious. Our favourite was the steak house (you do have to book) they could not do enough for you before you had taken the last sip of your drink another was put down in front of you. Plenty of activities to join in throughout the day if thats what you enjoy doing e.g. water polo, darts, water aerobics, volley ball etc and if you are not into this there are hundreds of sun beds at the pool and the beach where you can relax. The pools were clean and you could see throughout the day they cleaned the filters. The beach was beautiful, we got up one morning at 6am to the sunrise and seen about 10 RIU workers cleaning the sea weed up off the beach for the day ahead - this was done every morning and not once was there any litter on the beach. The entertainment of an evening lacked a little bit would have been nice to see a band or something like that but there was enough pool parties/evening excursions to keep us occupied. The reception staff checked us in and out as quickly as possible. We did get locked out of our safe once and the maintenance man was in our room within 5 minutes to get us back into it. If I could only change one thing about our stay at the Riu bambu it would that we had booked to stay for longer!! If you hesitant because of the bad reviews, please do ignore them this place is amazing.
Sadley the Rooms are tired and it feels slightly like Butlins everyone wandering around on arrival trying to find rooms as blocks are muddled up . Booklets and signs have incorrect info e.g. Italian restaurant is now Mexican but nothing states this. Most of the resturaunt you can just walk in to only it would have been nice if they had Aircon as it was uncomfortable to eat in them . The 24 hour sports bar could do with some settees and the food could be a lot better . You have to queue outside the steakhouse by the pool which I though was quite bad didn't do much for the look of the place , should of had a booking system up by lobby Rooms really could do with a revamp shower rails hanging off wall wardrobe doors coming off not a goood look for a Rui hotel although it's looks like all the public places have been done so no fault there Majority of staff ignore you especially in the speciality restaurants trying to get a drink in these is pathetic apart from the same few who always had a smile for us . Beach is fab loads of beds all under palm trees very clean although there should be someone in charge of taking the broken sun beds off the beach . Bar staff down by beach were great , entertainment team worked hard . Pools were great . To sum up this is not a 5* hotel if you do go book a junior suite and be prepared to wait for drinks
