I arrived to Riu Bambú on July 28 and I was there until Aug. 04 The costumer service was wonderful!! from the Cleaning service to the bartenders everyone was pleasant but for the first time in my life I experienced the way someone tries to shake you down in a very polite way. Mr.Gillermo de la Cruz was the Manager at Riu Bambu at that time and he make a little misunderstanding a big deal and even thought my 3 cousins and I apologized like 5 times for something that we didn't do but we were willing to apologized because we felt we weren't in our country and he was threaten us to get my cousins arrested and we didn't know why??? he will still going on about : what are we going to do about this? how are going to fix this?? and we were ... fix what??? what do you want from us??? Mr. Guillermo de la Cruz got tired that no one offered him money and let my cousins go. Dispeackleble way to shake people dow!
My son and I decided last minute to come here over March break. On arrival, the grounds were nicely kept and our welcome staff greeted us with a friendly attitude. After orientation, we were directed to building 70. Our room was on the top floor and very clean with two double beds. After a day or two we noticed washcloths were not showing up and had to pester the front desk for them to send them almost each day. That was a bit of a pain. We also found that the shower really had no privacy in the room. So my son and I took turns coming up to the room to shower. The cleaning staff were efficient and they stocked the fridge regularly. The balcony was nice with a view of the pool area. We explored the grounds and figured out where all the restaurants are, towels etc etc. Our first meal was at the main buffet. They had quite a selection and food was quite good. Staff were very friendly, the pool area was not too busy and the bar area had everything we needed. I’m a sailor and enjoyed my daily sailing while my son chilled at the pool. The beach is really. Ice, but depending on the time of year, there will be seaweed building up on shore. The evening entertainment was the biggest disappointment. We ended up playing bingo each night and really had nothing else’s to do the rest of the night but sit at the bar area. We tried all the restaurants and were really not disappointed with any. The Mexican and tapas restaurants were hidden behind the Colonial and we found out about them near the last day of our trip. I’d say the overall experience was good.
This guys knows what they are doing, they are so professional that we felt pleased with the different excursions we have done I recommend this guys Jose Arias & Denis Ramos, as my wife said they are wonderful
Super, Amazing and brilliant!
Stayed here for two weeks in 1404. Rooms spotless, spacious and always clean. Pool party for children was totally amazing! Entertainment in the evening was amazing and the team work so hard. Pools lovely, never a problem getting a sunbed. Beach beautiful. There us seaweed but this is part of the ecosystem! I loved this holiday and can't wait to come back. The holiday has inspired me to learn Spanish! Visited the spa for a massage which was great. I'm really sad to leave, thank you Riu!
Average at best
This hotel looks beautiful. The grounds, the public areas are all clean but the pool areas are vile. No one cleans the said areas. No one is forced to get out of the pools to Allow for cleaning. The rooms are basic, with very little room but functional. Although I had a fab holiday, the food although repetitive (as it is in every AI resort) was nice. General areas clean as was room. I just would not return for the pools areas are filthy as are the pools. Full of bugs which I appreciate can’t be helped but not once had I seen any one scoop em out like at the many other riu resorts I have stayed at in the Caribbean. It’s a beautiful resort and silly issues let this resort down but until the said issues are addressed I would not return nor would I recommend it
