Super relaxing and beautiful
They say only 1 in 10 people who have a good time will review. I felt like I needed to review in response to all the bad reviews I read. I traveled with a group of 13, a mix of 3 couples and single friends. Age range mid-30s to mid-60s. Total of 7 rooms. We stayed Aug 4 - Aug 10th. Two of us had read a lot of reviews and had discussed upgrading to the Altitude Tower. We all decided to upgrade. We had gotten such a good price ( applevacations ) we didn't mind paying a little bit more for all the benefits the upgrade came with. Access to the adults-only Infinity Pool, the Altitude Club Bar, breakfast options in the Altitude Tower. The Altitude Tower is the only common area that is air-conditioned. I stayed in room 432, city view. From our balcony, I could still see the ocean. Our room looked exactly like the photos. The shower was amazing! Upon arrival, we were greeted with huge smiles and Hola! all around. Check-in seemed a little slow, but we walked in from a van with 14 people, and a van had dropped off not long before us also. So it was understandable. This was 12:30 on Sunday afternoon. There were 5 staff members actively working with guest and 2 more in the background working to help. They all had smiles and were very friendly. At this point, I should say none of the common areas in the main tower have a/c. But I'm in Mexico in Aug, I expect it to be warm. It was cooler here than where I live. I was perfectly fine. On to the food: The breakfast buffet at O Restaurant is a little limited but I had everything I needed. Multiple amazing fruit juice choices, omelet bar, tons of fresh fruit. Waffles, hotcakes, some traditional Mexican breakfast options. The lunch and dinner at O are just ok. The Grill for lunch is great. So many ceviche options, all good. Tacos Baja is great! Soup of the day Yum! All around good food. Dinner at the Grill was great too. Ask for a side of the mashed potatoes omg! Dinner at Risotto was amazing! The risotto with saffron and chicken is A+ and risotto with lamb is amazing too. Seaweed and the beach. Yes, there was some seaweed, but it was not as bad as some make it sound. I had no problems with it. The sand is sugary soft. Bar and lunch service at the Infinity Pool was super friendly and very attentive. My drink was never empty and Mario went out of his way to bring me lunch options I wanted. I never had a problem getting a lounge chair. Music was happy and upbeat and a good volume level. The Infinity Pool was very clean and beautiful. With an amazing view of the beach and ocean. I sent much of my day time there. The regular pool was as clean as it could have been with the number of people in it. The staff was my favorite part of my vacation. Always smiles and Hola! buenos dias, Buenas Tardes, buenas noches. Every single staff member, it was amazing. There was not one single thing I asked for that they could not get for me or help me with. The Altitude Club Bar, our bartender for the week was amazing! Sunday night I ordered only 1 drink, Monday night when I went back he repeated my drink order and asked me if I would like that again. Wow after only 1 drink! The housekeeping staff was amazing too! Our room was spotless every day. We never waited for more than 10-15 minutes for a table for dinner. At the Grill, they sat us 12 in two tables of 6 and at Risotto they sat us 10 together. ( All 13 of us didn't always have dinner together. ) If you want nightlife to 6 am, it is a 5-minute walk. I went to Mexico only knowing a handful of Spanish words but came back with many more. Everyone was very patient and helpful. Would I go back? 100% yes! I was there for 7 days, I could have spent 7 more. Would I recommend? Yes. In closing: If you need a/c to enjoy a meal, or if you expect an American casino-style buffet, don't stay here. If you want to have a super relaxing, beautiful, friendly vacation stay here and upgrade to the Altitude Tower. Muchas gracias!
This resort is lovely. Nice and clean. However the seaweed washing up on the beach (which can’t be helped) absolutely stunk!!!! And we’ve just received our credit card bill from our 2 massages in the spa and were amazed to see that they had charged us £612.97!!!!!! After being told they would be around £70/75 each. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels before and never payed over £80 for a massage EVER!!! I’ve emailed the hotel and recieved the normal “my colleagues said this and that”. Which is true. But having been given the price in pesos and working it out (£74 roughly). No apology or admittance of a mistake AND NO offer of a refund either! Absolutely fuming!!! Everything else I converted from pesos to GBP throughout our stay in Mexico was correct though, strangely enough!!! NEVER TO RETURN TO MEXICO
Amazing Holiday - Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff.
This was a family vacation for myself, my wife and our two kids. The resort is located approximately 500 meters away from the main strip of Cancun. Resort as well as the beach was immaculately clean. Before we left we were also looking at some reviews people complaining about the seaweed. When we arrived there the beaches were some of the best that I had ever seen. Beautiful white sand and clear water. Reflect Cancun - has two buildings, Building 1 - Reflect tower which I would rank as a 3½ to 4 star and had the main dinning room and Building 2 - Altitude tower which I would rank 4½ stars. Views from both of these buildings were amazing. The four specialized restaurants were all amazing and the staff would always take care of our needs as we had some dietary restrictions. The reason I’m giving this resort a five star rating is that they met all of our need. Pools were amazing, food was amazing, Yoga on the beach and the best part was the staff. By the end of our holiday the staff were calling us by our names and made us welcome no matter where we were. I would totally recommend this resort to anyone and me and my family are already planning to go there again next year.
Advertised at 5 Star, 3 Star at best.
Reflect is in a nice location with sugary sand beaches. The room I stayed in was nothing like the pictures I've seen. The food was mediocre at best. Top shelf drinks were available, drinks around the pool were nice once you figured out what to order. (I recommend Riviera Maya, Miami Vice, Blue Hawaiian and Iceberg.) Employees were polite and helpful. Air conditioning could have been a little cooler in the main hotel, and my room. A bit run-down. When booking, think 3 star.
Beautiful resort for a great deal
My sister and I spent 4 nights at the resort 7/23 -7/27. The resort was very clean, well kept, and pretty. Our room was an ocean view with balcony, very lovely and the AC worked very well. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. The only restaurants we tried were the O buffet and The Grille. The O Buffet was very tasty, and we especially enjoyed the food at The Grille. The Pools were lovely and the beach was very clear and calm, not too much seaweed. We also liked the location which was walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and clubs. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.
