Another great stay...after we finally got our rooms

We booked our rooms back in May after visiting last year and loving the resort. This time we brought extra family members only to be disappointed and quite angry with the go around we received upon arrival. After a long day of travel, we were extremely tired and hungry. When we went to check in, we could tell there was some big issues going on with the people ahead of us, there were no rooms available. Of course when it was our turn, they told us the same thing. How can you book months in advance and pay for it only to be told there’s nothing available. We got sent downtown to stay for one night in a less than stellar place. After coming back here, we were able to negotiate some all inclusive for 4 days. We lost 2 days of our already short vacation because of this. We vowed we’d never return after that fiasco. However, we do love this resort. Food options are great, the place is beautiful and although you can’t swim on the beach, it’s quiet and beautiful. Sure wish there was a way to truly guarantee you’d have a room upon arrival.

Excellence repeated at PB Sunset Beach

Hi - we had another FANTASTIC vacation at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach! This truly is an excellent property and we've have had so many great/fun times and memories made here. Thank you so very much for the above and beyond excellent customer service we received yet again from Rosendo G. (who's an awesome bell cart driver) and to Martine and Marcos by the main pool for making our days by the main pool pure luxury. Counting the days and looking forward to our return visit for Spring Break in late March.

    Beautiful weather, bad food

The resort is styled for an older age group. A lot of retirees and people with timeshares. The grounds are really beautiful with lots of colorful flowers. The pools were just okay. And there’s really no point to lay on the beach because you can’t get into the water. The food was terrible! Probably the worst resort food I’ve ever had. The breakfast buffet by the main pool was cold and any extras, like bacon, is an “up charge”. Food by the pool was average at best. For paying for the all inclusive option, they really limit your choices.

    Heed my warning

My fiancé and I came here and paid for the all inclusive. We were excited and had hopes of this being one of the best vacations we had ever been on. But it’s sad to say that it was far below our hopes. I don’t want to make this too in depth so I’ll just point out several things that happened to us (our family accompanied us down and stayed here as well- they weren’t happy either haha). The reception desk only had one person working while 20+ of us stood around even though another receptionist was sitting in the room and two computers were available, there are undisclosed “rules” about what can and can’t be purchased from the tier system of all inclusive (we only found out when we tried to order some meals and when we communicated our confusion were told that those were the rules, no apologies or explanations), you’re not allowed to order food and take it to your room- extremely wasteful- instead you have to order room service that twice took 4+ hours to get, no water in the room- so you have to order that every time you want it (we were all inclusive) and only two waters per person, some bottled waters were ALREADY OPENED (this happened more than once at various places), never once did we receive towel cards and you can’t get towels without them, food was okay- expected more for a 5 star resort, waiters hit on our family who were clearly there with their significant others, waiters twice demanded that we tip them, waited over an hour for a cart and saw a cart guy sleeping in his cart, didn’t see them open a bottle of wine or liquor in front of us once (extremely questionable, unsanitary and dangerous), suite had broken faucet handle (leaked all over the counter onto our items), shower drain not screwed in (fiancé cut his foot), tiles loose in pool (family cut his foot on it), the TIME SHARE people- omg these people were vultures constantly trying to get you to buy into it taking up precious time that could have been spent with family, etc. There is more but I think you get the picture. The view is amazing but you can find that elsewhere in Mexico. Please don’t waste your money and time here and heed my warning. The only fortunate thing is that my sister in law said that this place was the worst all inclusive they had ever been to BUT there were others that they didn’t have one complaint about. If you have legitimate complaints, they just don’t care. Adios Pueblo Bonito - you’ve scarred us for life. I was actually happy to be leaving to go home.
