Poor service for a 5* resort
This wasn’t quite what I expected. It does however have great food. Lots of a la cartel options vs the usual buffets which was nice. It was a bit of a hassle having to get gold carts everywhere (my own fault for not researching better). Ocean is not swimmable here due to the currents - this should really be noted somewhere. Being a single parent of a 5 year old I hoped that the kids club would be something more tha. A dark dungeon that no-one signs up for. Very disappointing they didn’t have supervised pool time for kids. You also had to pay for it which made it less appealing when your kid might be the only one there. 3 staff to staff it,but no-one goes! Seems like if they did it as part of the all inclusive people might actually use it. As such I could use any of the other amenities in the resort - gym, spa etc... Upon check in staff are not very helpful i orientating you go where everything is, what’s to do, how the whole golf cart thing works etc. Service overall at ALL restaurants was POOR. Very disappointing considering it’s a 5* resort and service staff could barely get orders right. Trying to get a cup of black tea seemed to be like asking for the most rarest fish you can find!!! No fully stocked fridge in room - for all inclusive was crazy! You had to call to room service for even bottled water! Most all inclusive have a fully stocked fridge that is replenished daily! The market was great! But sucks that the juice bar was all at ‘additional cost’ . Overall I would not come back for the price it was based on the inconveniences in the resort and the terrible service all around the place.
Great food options. Beautiful views. Staff very attentive. Clean rooms. Great place for our family. Particularly liked Daniel who checked up into our room and was a great driver. Cool little roads throughout the complex.
Cabo San Lucas Resort
Pueblo Bonito Sunset is a large resort in Cabo. My family of 5 (3 teenagers) stayed at the resort the last week of May. The entire week, the cool winds were howling. The resort itself is nice. Spacious rooms, kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, family room and balcony overlooking the ocean. Very comfortable. We did the all inclusive meal plan which is worth it for the family since the prices to eat and drink at the resort are way overpriced. The restaurants are good and varied. Plus the resort is isolated so there are no food choices unless you take an expensive cab ride into town which is a good 15 minute ride. Caution, while you have a beach right at the hotel, there is no swimming or playing on the beach. A guard makes sure you are at least 50 yards from the water. The kids were very disappointed. The reason is that the Pacific ocean is very rough and drops to about 60 feet almost immediately. If you want a beach vacation, you need to stay on the Sea of Cortez side of the peninsula. Since the resort is on a large hill, be prepared to walk a lot up and down hills and stairs. They do have golf carts taking people everywhere though, just need to wait a bit for them. While we were there, lots and lots of weddings. This closed off sections of the resort like the skypool. Never actually got a chance to go since it was closed almost the entire time. The pools are great, the people are nice and almost all speak good english. The place is great to relax by the pool. WARNING: the lobby building is swarming with people wanting to give you a time share presentation in exchange for discounted activities. While they say it will take 90 minutes, be prepared to spend from breakfast until about 1:30 in the afternoon stuck even if you are intent on saying no. You can’t escape.
Relaxing Honeymoon Trip
We had the most relaxing and great week at PB Sunset for our honeymoon. We had great service from all the employees just include some names Francisco(Bistro), Rosa(GolfCourse), Jorge(TazunaBar), Omar(40Pool), and Leo(CartDriver). Not only was the weather perfect, but employees were so friendly and welcoming. We met a few other guests from the US and Canada who were great. Every pool has its own atmosphere that will attract a certain crowd or vibe for the day. Every department or venue has their excellent employees. Really everything was spot on- only drawback was the beds. Unfortunately we are going back in pretty bad shape from the beds being so springy and stiff. We look forward to returning next year!
