This resort treats you like family!!
My husband, our 4 kids and myself just checked out yesterday after 8 days and we wish we could have stayed longer. This was our 2nd time staying at Posada, my husband and I were just there in April for a week and fell in the love with the resort and staff. Everything from staff, to the food, to the comfy beds, were amazing. We loved the breakfast options, especially the omelet bar! We ate lunch at the beach everyday because the food was so delicious and a great selection to choose from. Dinners are themed; prime rib night, pasta bar etc. so we ate at the resort most nights as well, but took the kids into San Jose Del Cabo to have them try some of our favorite spots there too. During the day we stayed entertained with Jerry and Rocio's activities; darts, pool volleyball and foosball tournaments, great fun and a way to make new friends. * Although it says gratuities are included in your room rates, all of the staff go above and beyond, far deserving of additional tips. We even tipped the behind the scene staff like the beach bar cooks, they earned it for sure. This trip I brought handmade earrings for our cleaning staff to add to their tips and baseball hats for our beach staff. They are family now. Yesterday on departure day, they proved this.......we stayed and played til 4, tipped our last pesos and headed to the lobby with overflowing luggage and 6 hot bodies. I went to the ATM to pull cash for the taxi to the airport but all banks and ATMS in the whole region were out, network failure. I panicked. Our flight for Seattle was leaving at 7p, we tried to hide our emotions and fear of what now, we had no way to pay for a taxi with banks and ATMS down. Before you knew it, our family at Posada had 2 personal vehicles, with 2 employees out front ready to load our bags and bodies in their cars, beach and dining staff were gathering personal pesos for gas for our drivers. They did this out of the kindness of their hearts, they by no means had to. They are family. We were very humbled and I quietly cried all the way to the airport. We will never stay anywhere else in the Cabo area, we have found home, family and friends there. We will be back in December with my parents! Much love and gratitude to all the staff/family at Posada Real! We love you all, thank you again!! See you soon!!
When we arrived my wife said "I feel like we are home"
posada Real is a small resort and that is what I prefer, being handicapped (using a walker) We were put on the second floor that is the same floor as Buffet, Lobby and lobby bar. It only took minutes to check in at noon but had to wait until 3 for our room to be ready so we put on our suits and went to the pool and had a great lunch at the Taco bar (Wahoo cook Adrianna)and we had all our lunches there because they were hot and delicious. The staff went above and beyond for service. Starting at the lobby by Meghan and Sarah, to the waiters Victor , Jeremiah, Simon, Benito, Jose, and Salvidor to name a few to the omlet cook, who had my name, Martin. My wife went on the deluxe Los Cabos city tour with Grayline and Luis was a terrific guide the food at the buffet was very good but as most buffets not very hot but you could get whatever the grill was serving hot and the tacos were always hot. The room was clean and everything worked so we were very happy, even the sliding glass door worked perfectly. The temperature was 30-31 each day and made the sand very hot and I smiled at the people trying to walk in bare feet that ended in a run. The vendor's were there each day but were not allowed past the rope and they were friendly and not aggressive. We had partial ocean view 220 and the view was beautiful of the beach , pool, cactus garden and resort. We are already talking about going back next july, we were so pleased with everything. Remember the resort is a 3 star but I would rate it 4 because the hot tub was actually hot and the staff were all so friendly and nice.
Great small resort!
Great small resort. Lots of locals stay here. It's an older resort but perfect if you're looking for a relaxing time with great people and a great staff! Clean and in a good location. The food is OK for a resort. There were hits & misses but always found something we liked. The drinks were good as was the entertainment. Alex the bartender is great!! The DJ at night is great and the live music. The ocean is beautiful but you can't swim in it is the only downside. There is a pool with a swim up bar. I had a partial oceanview room and it was perfect it wasn't even 'partial' you could see the entire ocean. If I go back to San Jose Del Cabo I would 100% stay here again. Thank you for a great time!
Old School Charm
I spent 8 days at this hotel. I had purchased the all inclusive (not just breakfast), and I am so glad I did. The variety & convenience were worth the extra money. It is buffet style, and as with any buffet, some items are better than others, but overall, everyone was pleased. It includes food at the pool too, which was nice. The service was wonderful, and the staff really tried to please. The bed was comfortable, and the balcony, which I could smoke on with the door closed, was great. The balconies are designed so nothing from them would go anywhere except out into the open air. I saw many a sunrise from it. Besides the balconies with doors to the room closed, there is a smoking area off to the side in front, and one on the south side of the beach chairs, and the rest of the hotel is non-smoking. The bathrooms were functional, which is all that matters to me, but in need of attention--not cleaning, just maintenance. Specifically the shower. It was so nice to have real coffee and a real coffee maker in the rooms. This is not a place to go & plug in a bunch of devices, which is fine with me, as I go on vacation to unplug. Posada Real was one of the 2 original resorts in Los Cabos San Juan, so older, but it has a wonderful Old School Hacienda atmosphere, which I enjoyed. There is different music in the lobby each night, and I like the Mariachi Band. Only once did it get a little too loud a little too late, and they killed it I when I complained. The courtyard cactus garden is perfect. They employee a landscaper who actually hand waters and trims the whole area, and it is beautiful. So nice to see people employed rather than some automated system. The hot tub was great with nice strong jets, and laying out on the beach chairs was so relaxing--I actually feel asleep, which I never do. There is a massage tent on the beach for those that want that service. All in all, if and when I go back to Cabo (without the grand kids maybe), I will stay here again.
5 Stars for a 3 Star
I’m writing this review super late, but better late than never. I stayed here with my friends and had a great time. Basically my review is like the others, if you go into this expecting a 5 star hotel you will be disappointed, if you go into this expecting a 3 star hotel you will be impressed. I’m used to staying in 5 star hotels, yet picked this hotel to meet everyone’s budget and I was still impressed. In my experience, stars have little to do with the quality of the resort, but basically the number of amenities, and of course with only 1 restaurant, a snack bar, and 1 pool it’s only 3 stars. The overall experience for me was definitely still 5 stars, especially for the price. I was only really annoyed at 2 things 1) they didn’t have mojitos and 2) there was no bacon and the “sausages” were hot dogs. But these things are not a big deal and easy to get over, especially for the price. The hotel is quite dated and a bit weathered but very clean and well maintained. The pool is beautiful and the hot tub is amazing. Had no problems getting chairs at 10/11am which is better than most resorts. The location was great and is a short walk to San Jose del Cabo. Of course it’s in Cabo and you know you can’t swim in the ocean, but it was still beautiful. The service was amazing, and the food and drinks were pretty good! I loved the snacks at the pool especially! The hotel was pretty quiet as well! There wasn’t loud music or a ton of activities, so it might not be the best for families with young children, but perfect for us. Would definitely recommend for people who can’t afford a 5 star resort but are still looking for a good hotel, you get great value for your money here.
