Day Pass for Cruise Ship Passengers
Didnt not stay at the hotel, but took advantage of the day pass they offer for cruise ship passengers. Took a taxi there and went through front desk. Received our armbands and towels. Price was reasonable, Like $13 for kids and $18 for adults. Can pay in local currency or exchanged dollars. Included food voucher which we used at the sit down restaurant overlooking beach. Spent the day on the sand, Chairs and permanent umbrellas available. Beach was clean and relaxing. Dont recall hearing loud music or anything. There are many vendors walking the beach, but none of them were aggressive or pushy. They signal you and ask, but just politely said no. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Ordered all kinds of Mexican offerings. The food vouchers were more than enough to cover everything we wanted and had left over for dessert. The wait staff were excellent. Very polite, helpful and prompt. Engaged us in conversation and really put a cap on our trip. Taxi was right in front as we left, so no wait. I recommend, based on my experience, for fellow cruisers to try this as a day pass trip.
Great place with wonderful service, great staff would stay again. Good food, clean rooms, the location is great. Good price on the room view was great. First time to this hotel would recommend to others
Three-star resort catering to Mexican families
I stayed here for a week on the all-inclusive plan. I will not return. The hotel is clean, safe, and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and attentive. The large majority (90+%) of the guests are Mexican families. The food is average, what one would expect for a three-star hotel. I got diarrhea on my next-to-last day there, clearly from the food/beverages as I consumed nothing off site. The hot dishes at the buffet did not seem to always be maintained at hot enough temperature for food safety. The hotel is noisy: traveling bands play loudly on the beach during the day, the hotel band plays until late at night, the night club on the property immediately north of the hotel plays loud music until 4 a.m. on weekends, and the guests on the balcony immediately below mine stayed up until 2 a.m. talking loudly, despite my polite requests for them to speak more quietly, and despite being spoken to by the security guard that responded to my telephone call to the front desk. Overall, I slept poorly, and finished the week depleted and worn out.
Best hotel in Mazatlan
I cannot describe enough how amazing this hotel is! I've stayed here many times and I love every single time. The staff is SO AMAZING! Everywhere you walk- there is always staff cleaning, helping you, or offering food/drinks. The rooms are very true 'Mexico' style and extremely clean. I love being on the water and the Palapas on the beach, away from the beach vendors if you'd like more peace and quiet.
Lovely setting, great location, bathroom needs work
The good- I really would like to give this hotel 4 stars and I am very torn. We had a wonderful visit and the staff are great. The grounds are lovely and kept very clean. It was off season so it was not overly crowded which was nice. We had a third floor beautiful ocean view overlooking a palm tree. It was a special anniversary for us and we loved Mazatlán and really enjoyed the hotel. The location is great and we felt very safe walking in town. We loved our pulmonia (taxi) tour of old Mazatlán with Hector ( had taco outside the hotel) who was amazing! The Mexico show at the hotel was outstanding! Dancing, Mariachi singing and “hula hooping.” The Bad- Unfortunately the bathroom in our room had mold all along the edges and the door. The toilet was old and looked dirty inside. My first night I got under the covers and the underside had dirt on it. Yuk! The cleaning staff responded immediately and apologized and changed the cover. The rest of the room was fine. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Service at the hotel was very good and staff were lovely. Bottom line, they need to find a way to renovate the bathrooms. The hotel gives great value for the money so I realize it can be a challenge. But mold is not acceptable. I told a staff member about it when we were leaving and she told me, “Yes, I know. All the bathrooms are like that. We get a lot of complaints about them.” FOOD- was better than expected. we didn’t expect a lot for the very reasonable cost and planned to eat out several dinners which we did. Breakfast was actually delicious. The dinner buffet had enough choices to find some things we liked. The tacos and tortillas were yummy-A bit hard to find non red meat choices but I expected that. Drinks- not great but I eventually found a way to make my own drinks by ordering the separate parts. Bartenders were very willing to give us what we wanted Dinner at Georgina’s was very disappointing in terms of food and service. I was not pleased with the way the manager responded when I asked about a drink that was listed as one of the liquors ( we drank it at the bar). He was rather abrupt telling me it wasn’t part of the package. I would not recommend this restaurant. The buffet was better. Eating out was affordable and better. We actually really loved the setting and Mazatlán and would like to go back. I really hope the mold issue gets addressed because it’s a great hotel otherwise for the money. A special thank you to Humberto at the dining room who helped us explain my drink want to the bartender. He was great!
