First time here !!!
This was our first time to Mazatlan. We have been to over 35 resorts in Mexico, so this is our take on this resort. If you want a true Mexico feel this is it, 99.5% are Mexicans here with only .5% North Americans. This stated as a 4* resort, our room did have a coffee maker and a room safe that is not listed in our booking brochure with Westjet. Ala-carts. – you have to stand in line every morning to book the Italian, Brazilian, show. Only once we were able to get into the Italian [very good] They have a Mexican [ Casa Roberto’s] no booking needed, we ate there twice, thank You Jesus for the service. I did not like the booking system, I prefer that you should be able to book all for the week or a pager system with no bookings . Buffet , for Breakfast you can go to either first or second floor . We liked the second floor more personable. For supper they had a very good selection . I found all steam trays held the food very warm-GOOD !! Beach or pools. No problem getting a chair or lounger. Biggest complaint that all the chair solid plastic, way too hard to sit on all day , we prefer the softer canvas type of loungers. The ocean was great!! I could do without the beach bands all day, hotel cannot control this –public beach, vendors were not pushy. Sports Bar – Thank You for finding us the finals for NHL and NBA games. This is a perfect place to finish off the evening with tv, music, popcorn and a glass of Indio cervasa All bars served three kind of draft, Tequate lite. Indio, Dos XX Our room- beds were great with a good selection of pillows. T.V. only one English channel- CNN , not impressed. Great shower with super pressure, lots of towels. Room made up quickly every day A big shout out to “Alfonso” , he went out of his way every day to talks to us-THANK YOU , Darynka thank you for the t-shirt even though we did not win at bingo We like to travel to a different resort each time now, so we won’t be returning, Thank you for everything Playa Mazatlan Beach Hotel
Best food, best services, best location, best beach. And check out the Massage services. Two of us had MARY. As experienced massage customers, we can tell you she is wonderful!!! MARY, I will say again. The waiters, maids, service people are so well trained. Congrats to the management. We've been coming 11 years.
My favorite hotel
The Hotel Playa Mazatlan keeps on exceeding my already high expectations. I recently returned from a week long visit. I my opinion this property is the only hotel in Mazatlan where I get the true feeling and essence of being in this beautiful city. I vacation at this Hotel every year and come down from Tucson as often as possible. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and they treat me like I am part of their family. I continue to reserve the same deluxe ocean view room that is right over the beach and has a fantastic view of the Hotel, beach and Malecon. This property has the best beach of any hotel in Mazatlan with many beach front palapas with waiters serving food and drinks. I got the all inclusive plan and will continue to do so. Georgini's Italian Restaurant is included on the all inclusive plan, it has the best Italian food that I have ever tasted. The breakfast buffet at the Terraza restaurant continues to be a tradition of ours with a live band playing on the weekends. I took advantage of the many pools, jacuzzis and swim up bar including a Jacuzzi on the 3rd floor. There is even a cave on the south side of the Hotel. I like my sports and got to see my baseball and basketball games at the Sports Bar. The room service was fast and very curtious. There is also a snack bar if you want something late night. We usually have a early dinner but we went down to the Terraza for drinks and dancing later in the evening and had a fantastic time. We missed the live shows available this time around. Thank you Lance,Anna,Shane, Carlos, Humberto,Delia,Roberto,Julio,Ramon, Jesus,Vicente,Luis,Rudolfo,Sergio, Sandra and many more of my friends at this great Hotel for my best trip ever. I give the Hotel Playa Mazatlan 5 stars and I would give it a sixth star if possible.
Quinceañera in Hotel Playa Mazatlán
Beautiful resort! We visited Mazatlan on Memorial Day weekend. Friendly service the servers make you feel welcomed. The resort has many pools to choose from. If you have children, they will love it! They offer many activities for the kids. Family friendly atmosphere. The Italian restaurant was really good but, the server didn’t seem too happy to be there. The Mexican restaurant was delicious too! Very clean hotel!
Perfect for a Cruise Excursion
My husband and I spent a day at Hotel Playa Mazatlan earlier this week on an independent cruise excursion. It cost $12 US each way in taxi fare to the hotel. A Day Pass cost $35 per person US and included food, drinks and use of facilities. There are plenty of cabs to get you back to the ship at the end of the day. Be aware - there must be some sort of a kickback scam going re: Las Flores down the street because a travel "representative" at the pier and our taxi driver tried to steer us to Las Flores Beach Resort instead. We checked out Las Flores and it was subpar. We walked one block to Hotel Playa and were pleasantly surprised. We liked the resort because there were big palapas on the beach to keep us covered. There was a rope marking where the annoying random sales people are unable to cross. There were multiple pools and places to eat. There was someone delivering cocktails on the beach - very handy. The staff and other guests were very friendly. Adrian from Hotel Playa was very friendly as were other staff and guests. I would definitely recommend Hotel Playa for a cruise excursion.
