    Wedding Review

    I hosted a wedding at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica in early January 2025. Overall, despite a lack of communication with the offsite wedding coordinator prior to the wedding, once we arrived in Costa Rica, the onsite wedding coordinator was amazing, the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and our guests had an amazing time. When you book a wedding with Planet Hollywood, you are initially assigned an offsite wedding coordinator to help you with all of the pre-planning before you arrive at the resort. This was supposed to make the process easy, but the wedding coordinator that we were assigned to was not great at communicating and made the entire process more stressful that it had to be. She was unwilling to meet with us over the phone, and as a result, we had over 100 emails sent back and forward. The responses were also delayed, so it would take weeks before we were able to figure everything out, which made it very difficult to get our questions answered and plan a wedding. This could have all been fixed if we had been able to have a phone call with the wedding coordinator. Based on our initial experience with the offsite wedding coordinator, we were very nervous going into the wedding weekend and did not know what to expect. We still had a lot of unanswered questions that the offsite coordinator never answered. However, despite our initial nerves, once we arrived at the resort, everything was amazing. When we first arrived at the resort, we were assigned an onsite wedding coordinator who met with us to explain the weekend events and answered all of our remaining questions. She walked us through and showed us the different available location options for the first look, ceremony, and reception. Since we were the only wedding that weekend, we had the choice to change locations if we wished after seeing them, which it was really helpful to be able to see the different locations beforehand. After this meeting, we felt much better about the wedding. On the wedding morning, the onsite coordinator was consistently communicating updates for the day. She sent up a fruit platter, custom ordered us lunch, and a bottle of champagne to both the bride and groom while getting ready. This was a great start to the wedding morning and helped start off the day by making it special. After getting ready, she also coordinated transportation for us to arrive at our first look location (separately of course). We did our first look on the beach, and it was absolutely beautiful. After our first look, we went straight into the ceremony, which was also beautiful. Everything was set up perfectly, and I was surprised by how many flowers the wedding package included - it was perfect! The ceremony was quick, and since we hadn't met the officiant before, it was a little impersonal, but overall, it was a great ceremony. The cocktail hour and reception were also amazing. We had both on the rooftop - the cocktail hour overlapped perfectly when the sun set and it was beautiful. The food at the resort was rather average, but the food served at the wedding was pretty good. I have a gluten allergy, and the chef even made me a separate gluten free wedding cake (which was delicious)! We were a little nervous about having a DJ with under 30 people, but I am so glad that we did - everyone danced the night away and had the time of their lives. We were all having so much fun that we asked the wedding coordinator to push back the scheduled time for desert so that we could dance until the very last minute- and they graciously allowed us to do that. One thing to note for the reception is that the DJ does not perform MC services (we learned this about a week before the wedding), so we had to have one of our guests be the MC and announce when the first dances were, speeches etc. I was nervous about that, but it ended up being okay and everything went smoothly. We also hired a videographer and photographer for the event and just recently got our videos and photos back. I must say, the videographer was pretty good. We got a 10 minute clip of the first look and ceremony, and it was so beautiful that it made me cry. The photographer wasn't as good - we got some good photos and some not so good photos, but we did receive more photos back than what was advertised on the package.

    Great week

    The staff are friendly and attentive. The resort is clean and beautiful. We had everything we needed for a week of fun in the sun. 12 of us attended on a family trip and we could not have asked for a better experience. The food was great, the pools were clean and spacious. Never felt busy. It was a great week.

    Lots of fun with friends!!

    Jose and Irene from cabanas they both was extremely attentive and friendly. We loved them there personality was wonderful would come back just to interact with them. They really worked hard They serviced all of our needs there was nothing that they would not do for us. They both where great!!

    Best Time!

    We have been here for the last week, Star Class and woth a group of 12. Our favourite folks have been the Star Class Bar Pool Staff Paola, Karolina and Jorge have gone above and beyond. Remember all of our names, preferences for drinks and choice of spirits. Mixing up 'cocktails' for our youngest guests aged 2.5 and 18 mos. Highly recommend! We also booked excursions with Frank The Tank who was amazing to deal with as well! Costa Rica we will be back!

    Service is amazing!!

    We have had en amazing trip! The breakfast buffet is great and all the restaurants are too. If you go to the breakfast buffet ask for Tamara, she makes the best iced cappuccinos. She always has given us the best service of any we’ve had at the hotel! Sofia was our hostess and always welcomed us with a smile.
