Beautiful Grounds, Decent All-Inclusive
Ambiance/Facilities: 5/5 The resort vibe is a beautiful modern tropical-like Zen environment inside with all the sprawling lush greenery everywhere and water features to highlight the experience. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful environments and there are so many picture-worthy places to take a photo it’s that beautiful. At nighttime it gets even better with beautiful lights, colors, and candles throughout. The live entertainment is nice as well, and I like that it has its own night club at night for hotel guests. Only downside is the resort does show its age a bit and has some odd scents in places although they do use aroma diffusers to help. Also, we went end of May so it was very hot and humid day and night and you can tell they don’t have very strong A/C to cool down some of the hotel, especially since it is mostly an open air environment. My solution is just to come a different time of year. Food/Drinks: 4/5 There are 7 restaurants to choose from or so, but make sure you set reservations for some of them in the morning or day before as they get so get booked up. Food was ok overall, Enso, Mole, and Market Grill were awesome; Bana, Vento, and Blue Agave not so much.. Drinks were sometimes watered down, sometimes good depending who the bartender is. My advise is find your favorite and most friendly bartender, tip them well, and go to them for drinks throughout your trip. Bali bed rental was worth every penny! You get served lobster, shrimp skewers, ceviche, and a bottle of Moët for the day as well as a personal waiter and prime seating (shaded chairs at the pool are really a luxury since they get taken early by other people). I would do it again in a heartbeat! Service: 4/5 Staff was good, sometimes they seemed to go above and beyond to make you happy and other times they looked bothered when you asked for something - to be expected from a 4-star hotel though. Check-in took fairly long and it was very hot and sweaty in there (no welcome drink but not a big deal, you have plenty of time to get your own). Check-out was easy. Word to the wise: make sure you bring EXTRA sunscreen because if not you will be stuck paying $24 for one bottle at the in-hotel shop- no bueno. Overall, very good resort and experience! I cannot emphasize the beauty of this place, and the sheer size. Been to various other A.I. resorts in Cancun, and I would definitely return here. With some improvements in the food, customer service, and hotel upkeep this place can easily be a true 5-star resort.
Royal Service Absolutely Worth It
We had a wonderful time staying with the Royal Service experience at Paradisus. Our concierge, Hector, was incredibly attentive and was available via text the entire day. There is essentially anything at your fingertips the entire time you are there. Very handy for making reservations and setting activities like golf up. Pro-tip, you'll probably be the only one on the par 3 course, so just rent one set of clubs ($25) and share. Also, bring your own balls, they are 3 for $12 for range balls. Essentially everything else we did at the hotel was free, including use of the sauna and steam room at the spa. The food was pretty good, and the drinks were great, with a nice selection of alcohols if you asked for them. They were included in Royal Service, with other things like cabana rentals.
Paradisus- A Wonderful Vacation!!!
We had Royal Service and it was definitely worth it and I highly recommend it!! Our room was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Our butler was Alex. He was absolutely amazing! He anticipated our every need, from making our reservations to any questions or request we had! He even planned a birthday surprise for me and really helped to make it extra special. We feel super lucky to have had him as our butler!! Paradisus is a top notch resort and I couldn't have imagined a better vacation!
This was our third trip to Paradisus over the past couple of years. The resort is incredibly clean and the service is some of the best I've ever experienced. We love the variety of restaurants. Our favorites are Bana, Vento, Enzo and Mole. The servers are great. Huge thank you to Luis and Atlantios -I know i'm spelling that wrong- (Enzo) and Claudio (Bana). At the Family Concierge pool, we absolutely love Laura. She has always taken fantastic care of us and our little one. She even brings little gifts for our daughter, which was very thoughtful. Down at the beach, Miguel never let me see the bottom of my cup. The people really make this place wonderful. Can't say enough good things about them. If you have the chance, you have to check out Tempo. It is the equivalent of a Michelin rated restaurant in the states. The food is delicious and creative and you won't get out of there without several complimentary dishes from the chef. In my opinion, the service is better than anything I've seen at a Michelin restaurant. The staff are incredibly professional and elegant. They train hard to make the experience first class and it shows. This place is not part of the all-inclusive package abut we've been three times now and I look forward to going each time we visit the resort. You will need pants and a button-up for this one and leave the kids with a sitter. Through Family Concierge, you are assigned a butler. We had Alexa and Gloria, who were both very kind and accommodating. They made sure our rooms were well stocked and that we had our Bali Bed and dinner reservations for each day. Paradisus Cancun is a safe, lovely place full of great, hard working staff. This will not be our last trip to the resort and we highly recommend this place to anyone with or without kids.
They charged me twice and didn't refund
I've stayed in this hotel from the 24th to the 26th of May. I had made the reservation and paid through booking.com months ago. During the checkOUT, they told me I didn't show them during the checkin the exact credit card I paid the reservation with. Apparently this is a problem? As I didn't have that credit card with me, the only way they would allow me to check out was if I paid again and they would reimburse what was charged in the initial card. It's been 4 days now and I still didn't get the refund. I've already tried calling and send emails but still no answer as well. This place's management is very untrustworthy and doesn't give us clear explanations from the beginning. I don't recommend it for anyone.
