Voyager 47 not worth the money
My family and I Just got back from our first vacation on the Big Island. We had an amazing time but we were overall disappointed in the Outrigger Kona. The staff were amazing and the views and property are gorgeous but we were disappointed with the food offerings. We didn’t find anything on property that wowed us. We booked through Travelzoo and were offered the Voyager 47 club with no additional cost. We are familiar with the club from Oahu and absolutely loved it there. However, I don’t know if it’s because they are still renovating but the club was a huge disappointment. It’s a convention room that you are constantly battling flies. Very limited offerings that don’t change much night to night, and a very limited bar. Morning is a breakfast I would compare to the Holiday Inn Express. My daughter loved it because she is 7 and always hungry but my husband and I skipped the food. If we were paying extra for this and it was not included in our stay I would have asked for my money back. Oahu Outrigger Reef has an amazing club with a full bar, amazing outdoor views, room to lounge, relax, and watch the sunset. They also have food offerings that rotate every night. We were expecting more of that. If we did return to the Big Island we would probably stay in Waikoloa where there are more options for dining walking distance.

amazing pool staff
My family comes every year around the same time, we pick different resorts & so happened to stumble upon the outrigger. although my overall experience was great. i dealt with a few hiccups during our stay specifically being front desk not being available & having to walk from our room to them just for them to not be as accommodating & helpful as i thought. Me & my family enjoyed the pool area and the stay. they were very respectful while letting us know the slide rules & it really seemed like the staff member Jameson really cared about the safety of the guest. Alesia in the small snack shop next to adult pool was super helpful & awesome she gave us a few manta options we are choosing to save for our next trip back.

Highly recommended
Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Property exceptionally clean. Room views are stunning. Great location for sight seeing. Kids say it was their favorite stay during our trip. (Ages 6 and 10). They loved the water slide. Don’t miss the walking tour! Saw whales from our room several times. Beautiful deck with table and chairs to enjoy the views.

My favorite place on earth :)
This was our first time (of MANY) that we did Voyager 47, it was a fantastic experience! We saw our favorite bartenders Mike, Kaua, and Lana who somehow always remember our drink orders and ask us about our lives ❤️ we spent a week of breakfasts and hapoy hours with Tessa, Charlene, Fred, Pua, Lori and Celeste! They remembered our names and were extremely welcoming every single day. There is a reason we stay here over anywhere else, got married here and recommend this hotel to EVERYONE! The new rooms are gorgeous. The new game room is a hit for everyone in our family. The Feast and Fire Luau is always incredible. We feel so lucky to have been so welcomed here for years. 20/10 would recommend.

Hawaiian Paradise
5 Stars Mike Elvenia is hands down the best bartender I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. His amazing customer service went well beyond what we expected. Mike not only made incredible drinks but also gave great recommendations that enhanced our experience. We were visiting Kona to celebrate a milestone birthday for my girlfriend, and Mike was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The location, perfectly positioned between the ocean and an old lava field, made the experience even more special. Thank you, Mike, for making our celebration unforgettable!
