Great experience traveling with small kids
Special thanks to all the staff, especially Victor, Privelage Manager and Chef Leo for making our stay even better than the last time. The pool and beach bartenders, Antonio and Reynier provided great servcie. The beach restaurant chef, Miguel, is very professional. Hand crafted cocktails at the lobby bar by Kelvin. Constantino and Simon always ensured we had what we needed for our rooms. Everyone always goes above and beyond. We have been here multiple times and always enjoy our visit. This resort is excellent for any traveler, especially families, there is always something to do for everyone.

Good but lacking that something special
Transfer via TUI - last drop off. Took about 1.5 hours. Seemed forever. Check in - took an hour - very slow Rooms - large and cleaned daily. Im currently here. Room 8222 which is central. The king size bed slopes into the middle. So I have to sleep in the centre of the bed, just aswell I’m here on my own. Minibar with water, soft drinks and a couple of cans of beer. Replenished daily. Bring your own kettle. Grounds - very nice and well maintained Staff - all happy, polite Drinks - I only drink Prosecco, white wine and mudslides but they have all been good. If you are English and enjoy an English breakfast tea they are like gold dust. You have to ask for them at breakfast and they are extremely weak. I’ve bought my own. Food - all extremely good. I tend to go to the buffet at breakfast. There is a small buffet restaurant - Villa Marina which is by the beach. It gets busy at lunch so you need to get there early but roast chicken. Pizzas, burgers, salads, pasta cooked to order, toasted sandwiches, hotdogs, salads, chilli, nachos. Oh and a Mr Whippy ice cream machine Steak house - you have to book this on the morning you want to go. I went once. It felt like a military operation, and very rushed. Haven’t gone again. Steak was tough and fatty. Blue Moon - fine dining. men need long trousers and collared shirt/polo. Ladies smart shorts or dresses. No children. Amazing service. Amazing food and in my opinion the best restaurant Italian - I’ve been twice in the 2 weeks and enjoyed it both times. Good food and service Route 66 - American Diner. Been twice and had the beef brisket both times. 1st it was amazing and the meat melted in your mouth. 2nd tine it was we ok but not as good. Amazing milkshakes. Sensai - Japenese - this has to be booked in the morning you want to go. Been once and great entertainment & food. Will rebook Pool - plenty of sunbeds. Lacking in small tables to put your drinks on. Pool is clean and well maintained. However, they haven’t swept around the pool since I’ve been here and it needs a good clean up. Beach - lovely and sandy. Tractor rotas the sand over early every morning. You can walk a fair distance each way along the beach. Beach vendors - go up and down but just say no and they walk on by. Beach bar very good. Entertainment- in the evening. It’s a bit hit & miss. Had a few good nights and a few tacky nights. Night club - was fun the night i went. Play mainly Spanish music but with some English mixed in. BIG NEGATIVE - during the day the bar staff don’t come round and get your drinks orders. You have to go to the bar every time. I’m the evening if you are lucky you might get waiter service in main bar/reception area. You get drink service in the restaurants no problem. BRING AFTER BITE protection. Not mosquitos but I think flies. Lots of people have been bitten to pieces and they itch like mad. I’ve had a nice time but I probably wouldn’t come back. . I’ve been to better resorts but saying that I wouldn’t say don’t come. Generally good but for me it’s missing that special something.

Just ok
Fourth time in Dominican and I rate this the 4th. The Hotel is clean and tidy and the grounds are very well kept. Appearance a certain 5/5. Requested a good room to welcome in my 60th, got block 9 ground floor very musky damp room with a huge broken bathroom mirror. Requested a move but couldn’t be done until the following day. Checked out of room at 12 and couldn’t be checked in to new room until after three pm (really) so waited in foyer and lost 4 hours of holiday time. New room perfect until turned on taps, no water. More time on the phone but sorted quickly. Buffet food massive selection but don’t expect hot food or use the microwave. It was good and well presented but mostly warm at best. Breakfast wonderful and lunch on the beach very good. Did all the restaurants, Japanese was very good as cooked in front of you as a show, Blue Moon was the best by far but refused entry until declared my birthday and suddenly there was a table available. On entry there was at least 15 empty tables ready for service, very strange. Italian was simply awful as was the Mexican which we had to walk out. Steak house the New York steak served my dog will still be chewing it now, just a slab of gristle. Route 66 served with a table sharer stone cold fries loaded with melted cheese ( just yum not). However the rest of the meal was ok so not being too critical. You want go hungry and there is some nice food however could be better. Hats off to the chefs they present well so the effort is there. My two biggest complaints is the noise factor. If you like entertainment and silly games you will love it but if you are a book person or like quite conversation this is not for you. The show hall was used 4/5 times in 14 days and all entertainment ended up in the main lobby bar where you couldn’t talk. Felt guilty retiring to Piano bar and talking there. The other is the concern on the pools. When I see mainly Americans carrying around their 2 litre life preserver insulated jugs floating round the pool with several refills and never get out of the pool for a comfort break I wonder?Ducks swimming on the pool and birds drinking from it surprised me. Mikes coffee shop is 10/10 staff and coffees, simply amazing, unique and relaxing. Sports bar good for a few hours and great service. The value of our holiday was good because we got a bargain but would we return the answer would be NO.

Definately not 5 star
Definately not 5 star. We upgraded to privlage totally waste of money you get a small part of the beach and small part of the pool and can use restaurants but more only if u can get booked they couldn’t download the app to our phone so we had to deal with our bugler that we never met he never informed us of anything and if we didn’t like the reservation times it was just left we used the buffet the food was average. The room we were in the bath was badly stained shower was cold and the roof leaked in the bathroom the towels clean but were very washed out grey. They restocked the water leaving it on the top rather than the fridge. The pool bar omg disgusting they allow people to sit eating smoking and god knows what else sat in the pool the entertainment was ok nightclub if u English don’t bother it’s all foreign music. The sports bar was good the guys behind the bar and the food guy very friendly and in the main. Reception bar the staff are good and all friendly. Some staff need a shake up the marina restaurant the tables were often left with dirty plates till u asked staff to clear them so u could get food. All in all it’s 3 star and I have travelled we felt like we payed far too much for what was on offer the beach is nice but again beds were shabby compared to others along the beach I would return to Punta Cana but not to this hotel I think it’s lacking in a lot of areas and do not bother with the upgrade total waste of money.

Disappointing
As someone that travels solo, I always book the privileged services to make my stay more enjoyable/easy. While the resort is very clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable and most of the staff friendly, the butler service was a huge disappointment. I never met my butler and he barely messaged me on WhatsApp. I only had one special request, and that was for a cake to be delivered to my room. Even though the butler confirmed the cake, it never happened and I received a copy and paste apology on the day I was checking out. Additionally, I was advised that there would be drink service in the privileged pool section, but there was never anyone there to assist. I would not stay again.
