Nice rooms. Good AC. Lousy food
Pros: rooms are clean and spacious, AC works very well and the showers are large. The pool is very relaxing and the spa is wonderful. Cons: The front desk does not tell room service anything. We made reservations for the à la carte restaurant at the buffet but they were lost for both days we were there. À la carte restaurant is as bad as the buffet. The buffet food was very oily and not very good. Breakfast is the same every day. The food was bland. It took us two days to get more towels and the front desk never fixed the shower that was broken. Not all of the staff speak English which is not what they claim on the website.
All inclusive not so impresive
so we booked this trip to Costa Rica and wanted a really nice place to stay with all the amenity's and found this place on line. I feel we paid a handsome sum of money to be sure we would have some top class accommodations. Now I will tell you the staff was great but now the bad part. The drinks are included if you drink only well drinks and you want to drink from a juice glass. Same with the beer Juice glass. The food was pretty good but the one free dinner at the hotels exclusive restaurant is a joke. Don't bother you have a choice of two things can not mix the vegies and the meat dishes. Tells me they are prepackaged and reheated. The disco tech is a joke! Some good stuff the pool is nice and the grounds are very pretty, buildings need maintenance bad. We had to ask for towels every day, Sheets were never changed, how do I know there was a stain and it never went away. we met some of the most amazing people there that was our saving grace. they will be our friends forever. P.S be carful of hat the vendors at the beach are selling. like anywhere you do not get what is promised. exception the palm frond hat guy he is legit. It was our 25 year anniversary so they kinda blew it to get a great review.
Best All-Inclusive We've Been to in Costa Rica
The current low-season rate ($65/person/night) is a great bargain. So, don't expect top-quality drinks, and be warned that WiFi is NOT included. Outside of those details, no complaints. Cleanliness is obviously a priority, and the rooms are comfortable enough.
Beautiful Resort But Poorly Managed
This is a beautiful resort on the Pacific side of Costa Rica and very convenient to the town of Tamarindo. However the resort needs to be managed better. The pool is a great size but the decking and pool furniture needed to be cleaned. Our room was a good size but the ceiling had mildew/mold growing on it near the air conditioner. The snack bar/daily drink bar near the pool was often understaffed and there was 10-15 people in line at any given time. Food in snack bar and in the restaurant was average and very little variety. Fresh Food and Fresh Bread was very good. The people that worked at the resort were very nice and very helpful. However I do believe the resort could receive much better reviews if the resort management put forth effort to ensure the property was cleaner and the food choices were a bit better.
Tasteless food & poor service. Soccer all day on all tvs Bell hop was great. An approved date change with Barceló led to a 6 month recovery process for unauthorized billing. Miserable sub-par experience that continued for months. Manager is terrible and unapologetic for his incompetence. His unauthorized CC billing took 6 months to resolve...
