Second time here
Over all the trips here were good. We enjoyed the quite pool, the food was good, staff good. The only problem was my wife had her gold chain and pendant tore off her while walking the beach this year. It would have been nice if the hotel had posted about not wearing jewelry or any thing of value while walking the beach.
It's a perfect place for couples or for a family time, the hotel is very nice, rooms are comfortable, spacious and you can see green everywhere. They have great amenities, great service and food. people at the reception are very helpful and always available to resolve all your needs.
First let me start by saying we were booked at this resort by default due to overbooking at the Decameron Cartegena. A booking.com agent called the day before we were set to leave for our trip and stated she could book us at this 4 star all inclusive for a cheaper price, needless to say we were pleased even though its about 20 minutes outside of the walled city they have a FREE shuttle bus that takes you to and from the Walled city which was very convenient for us. Food was delicious, grounds are beautiful, the only complaint would be our beds, they were not very soft at all actually kind of hard, but for some strange reason it didn't prevent us from getting a good night's sleep. Also too many stray cats and dogs roaming the property for me. My friend is allergic to cats and I am afraid of dogs, It didn't prevent us from having a good time though. The shows are cute not that cheesy like other resorts. Overall we had a very good stay at this resort.
Wonderful Staff and Peaceful Location
I have been staying in Cartagena for several weeks and recently decided to visit Manzanillo with my boyfriend. We were walking along the beach and ended up getting lost, which was not a very pleasant experience. However, although we were not staying at Estelar, we happened upon the resort. It had one of the most beautiful beach properties I have seen in Cartagena. It was peaceful, clean, and with a beautiful view of the Cartagena skyline to the South and mountains to the North. We were more focused on getting home, however, so were asking anybody around to help us return home. The staff at Estelar was extremely helpful in getting us home safely. I would recommend this resort from my experience based on the care and service from staff as well as the peaceful environment of the resort.
Not for kids, food lovers or light sleepers
They have broken glass on the beach, be careful. They don't have any A/C in the lunch, dinner area. The buffet was closed for dinner. They opened it only when there was a the corporate event (100 people came for it). The fruits were so-so but during the corporate event the fruits got better. The room smelled of mold and humidity. There's nowhere to hide from heat. The lobby has no A/C either. The music is loud until 1-2am. You can hear boom-boom and the walls vibrate in the room. They have rules that you cannot take kayak before 9am and you cannot swim in the sea after 6pm. The gym is tiny and more of a joke. Hot tub/ Jacuzzi didn't have water. The bed is a tough mattress on a hard concrete. The floor is cheap outside brick. Kids suffer in the heat and awaken by noises.
