This trip to Estelar Plaza Manzanillo was a total waste of money, two weeks ago we were in Secrets Akumal hotel , the difference is abismal, the check in was fine but you’re not allow to eat lunch without pay , pretty much you all inclusive plan starts with dinner , no exemptions, this situation is very annoying for travelers from other countries, after that everything went downhill, mostly the employees are not happy, almost nobody say or replay good morning, they don’t seem happy and motivated, the quality of the food and alcohol is very low, also wild birds have full access to the buffet which is a serious hygiene issue, the pool and beach ours are restricted to 6:00pm, yes you cannot use them after that time, the night shows is performed over the sand, there’s not service on any of the public areas, you have to get up and get it, distances are very far. I would like to recommend to everyone to stay away from this hotel, save your hard earned money to stay in better places. This hotel has too many stars for what I was offered.
Need more staff
Not enough staff, food took to long in every restaurant, nothing opened on time, not attentive to guest, not ready for check in, outlets did not work in the room, buffet needs updating, to many flys on food...NEED MORE STAFF...
Room is clean although the provisions are quite spartan. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. The food selection in the buffet dining area is adequate. The main problem, however, is the internet/wifi connection. You cannot access it in Building 3.
Biggest asset of hotel is its staff
I traveled to Cartagena with my family for a short all inclusive vacation. The hotel, although small, is comfortable. The pools are nice and the beach is relaxing. The best thing of the hotel is the staff: from Viviana and Andres at the front desk, to Rodrigo at the restaurant, Fermina at the spa, Manuel the gardener, Andres at the beach make a great and very competent team. The hotel is a bit far from Cartagena but they offer a bus to travel to the city. Something to improve will be sports facilities and activities for children (including improvements of play ground areas). Rooms are nice although the bathrooms are rather small. Good place in general.
Second time here
Over all the trips here were good. We enjoyed the quite pool, the food was good, staff good. The only problem was my wife had her gold chain and pendant tore off her while walking the beach this year. It would have been nice if the hotel had posted about not wearing jewelry or any thing of value while walking the beach.
