This is a great vacation for families with youth children. The beach lagoon is great for younger kids and there are plenty of fish to look at. My six year old loved the Kids club with Regina, Katherine and Areli. They are very positive and energetic. Will come again.
Beautiful property in the jungle! Great service by a friendly staff. Actual ruins on-site. Would go back again. Away from the party madness of nearby Cancun and Cozumel. Really enjoyed the sounds at night.
Loved the nature that surrounds this resort!
The resort was recommended by a friend who had been twice, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. I loved my stay at Occidental. The location was great, we purchased a week pass to Xcaret which is right next door, and we went every single day. We would go over early in the morning, and do the underground rivers, come back for lunch then go back in the late afternoon. I loved the accessibility to the park. Even nature paths within the resort are great, and I loved the wildlife everywhere! The food was excellent, and even though sometimes the restaurants were closed when we didn’t know, we always managed to have an excellent meal. The Italian and Oriental restaurants were our favorite (we even joked that we had the best Asian food ever in…Mexico… ) All the staff were great. David and Jack the concierges from building 21 tending to our needs daily, and Ahito at the main buffet was our favorite waiter! He made us laugh, and we would look out for him every day hoping to be seated in his section. It was overall an amazing experience and it will not be our last visit!
pray to not coincide with a large group/company at the same time
i want to keep it short. Sadly there was a large group that checkd in the same day that i did, and pretty much the hotel's focus was on them. restaurants, rooms, service was focused on this people. a year ago i would have recommended this hotel with my eyes closed, today i can say avoid it if you are not driving, if you are going in busy season, avoid it if you dont enjoy jungle and darkness.
