We stayed at Occidental at Xcaret for 10 nights and a fantastic stay. Our room was spacious and clean and the minifridge was stocked on a daily basis. We were located in building 19 which overlooked the pool and was situated between the main lobby and the beach. All of the staff were all fantastic, very friendly and helpful during our stay and it was this which really set the hotel apart for us. The food was good for the most part, breakfast was great and the omelette station was a personal favourite. Lunch was good, you had the choice of 3 different buffet restaurants, all in very different settings. Dinner time there is a huge choice of different restaurants including the buffet as well as the speciality restaurants - our favourite was the Oriental restaurant. Sometimes the selection on the buffets wasn’t great, especially if you don’t eat meat however we always found something which we enjoyed! The definite highlight of the hotel however is the jungle setting. Being nature lovers we loved exploring the hotel grounds and spotting all sorts of different animals, during our stay we spotted agoutis, coatis, spider monkeys, pelicans and hundreds of lizards! The man made beach is really great too, there’s plenty to see snorkelling and there are Mayan ruins around the hotel for you to explore. I would definitely recommend opting for the pass which allows you access to the Xcaret park during your stay as we spent a lot of time here and really loved it. It is only a brief walk away from the hotel and there is plenty to do. Occidental at Xcaret does not offer free Wifi annoyingly, however the Xcaret park offers free Wifi in certain areas of the park so we just took advantage of this. Overall we had a fantastic stay at Occidental at Xcaret thanks to the friendly staff as well as the beautiful jungle setting.
Cool... but no more time...
Cool.... but no more. I LOVE the proximity of the Xcaret Parc... wonderfu... but the Resort is so big, it is perfect for walk...but bad service when i arrived (nobody show me my bloc), pour service at the pool bar, no respect for the towel, etc. Excellent service at resto! Next time : xcaret mexico!
Best birthday trip ever
I enjoyed my stay at this destination. It was my 25th birthday trip. The room was always clean & tidy. We were always greeted with a smile by the friendly staff. Javier Perez & Antonio Mendoza were our concierge personnels at our building number 19, they are fun & go above and beyond to make their guest happy & receive an enjoyable stay. America Cruz & Maria Torres made sure we were seated in the buffet and served promptly. Javier Campomanes helped me with my cellphone service & translation which I really appreciated. I enjoyed the scenery of this hotel & the services offered. Thanks again to these amazing staff. They light up our world with their excellent customer service skills. Thank you
We traveled here with 4 teenage girls and had a great time. Felt very safe the entire time and loved the property. This resort is perfect place to see a lot of wildlife as it is set in the jungle. Service was fantastic! Drinks at all the bars were excellent and service on the beach and the pool areas was an added bonus. I particularly enjoyed the chocolate martinis at the lobby bar and the nightly entertainment. The asian restaurant was our favorite and loved that reservations were not required. We only had to wait one evening for 20 minutes or so. My hot blooded other half was not fond of the pants required for dinner in the 100 degree weather but made it through. The resort had a lot to do and a very large property.
This was my first vacation and this place has given me high expectations for future trips. I am already planning a trip for next year. I went with friends. This was their second time here. They are planning an anniversary trip here in November.
