    You get what you pay for stay away from room service

    I have been to cancun numerous times and have stayed at many other sister properties. This specific now resort is subpar to the other brands and sister properties. This resort which is formally known as grand oasis sens was bought out and rebranded as a NOW resort. Theres a lot that needs to be done here for this resort to live up to the NOW brand. There is a lot of construction going on here and upgrades. The food was not so good, buffet was horrible, undercooked food w not many choices. The ala carte restaurants would be you best bet if you can actually get in one Id recommend the asian restaurant with the view. Great attentive staff and food is actually decent. Do not order room service, for one they dont even have a room service menu. A few ppl I was with order room service, they ordered a cheeseburger and fries. What they received was some kind of mystery meat patty which was NOT beef. It was gray in color and did not have the texture of any hamburger I have ever seen in my life. After they ate the mystery meat patty they all became sick almost immediately!! They all began vomiting the entire contents of their stomach. They still don’t know what kind of meat they ingested. After they purged their bodies of this mystery meat they were fine again until they went to the cafe. They all ordered the same drink from the cafe and were struck w another case of sickness. They believe either from the cream or milk that was used in their coffee. They all came down with vomiting and diarrhea and were stuck in they’re rooms the rest of the trip. Buyer beware and pay a few extra dollars to stay somewhere else until this resort meets the expectations of the NOW brand!!

    If you want to have fun in Cancun..!!!

    We went to celebrate my cousin graduating high school and this was our first time in Mexico. We had no idea what to do but once we made it to our resort (Now Emerald) we were greeted by one of the host Rafael and he was able to point us in the right direction. Rafael made sure everyday that we were there we were comfortable and had no concerns. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and we will definitely be back soon!

    WORST HOTEL!!!

    Absolutely terrible hotel. Would not recommend to ANYONE. My husband and I are not ones to complain but this experience was absolutely terrible. We had issues every single day that we were there and the management did nothing to compensate or accommodate us. They just wanted to blame things on their own staff and make them pay for it out of their own pockets. This hotel was advertised to us as a “brand new resort”. When we arrived we quickly saw what a lie that was. Our room was incredibly outdated. We had scolding hot water in our shower, our toilet kept clogging and our sink leaked. One day my husband and I went to the spa for couples massages for our anniversary and the hydro spa that they wanted us to get in had a DEAD BIRD swirling around in it. One of the spa employees picked the bird up with his hands and threw it over the fence and wanted us to get in the hydro spa. ABSOLUTELY NOT. He also didn’t go wash his hands right away and honestly I’m not sure if he ever did. Needless to say they barely compensated our massages and still made us pay a portion of it. They would not do anything to fix the problem. Another thing that happened was that we were told to go to a timeshare meeting for 90 minutes at another sister resort and then after we were promised a day pass to stay until 5 o clock. That’s the only reason why we agreed to do it on our last day because we wanted to be at an actual nice resort before we left. Needless to say, this meeting lasted 2 1/2 hours long with constant new people coming in trying to sell us after we kept said no. After the 2 1/2 hours they absolutely would not let us stay on the resort. As you can imagine my husband and I were very upset. Again no compensation for this either. The only thing that was ok about this resort was the beach, the food and drinks were good and a handful of the waiters actually provided great service. A tun of people’s rooms there didn’t have air conditioning and they didn’t even give them the rooms that they paid for. DO NOT GO THERE!

    There were 23 of us that stayed at Now Emerald Cancun - overall a great trip!

    There were a couple rooms that had some glitches (a/c didn't work, shower head fell off) but they were fixed right away. There are some areas that they are still working on and some cosmetic issues but we knew that going in to the trip. The staff would bend over backwards to help you out and are very friendly. Food and drinks were good. We had a few kids that were over 18 and wanted Karaoke and they made it happen. Our only excursion was a Catamaran to Isla Mujeres through Amstar and that was beautiful and fun. We rented 5 golf carts and had a great time - it was an eye opening experience for the kids to see the whole island. But be warned that you cannot drink alcohol while driving the golf carts - we were warned before hand but have heard of others on other trips that they got pulled over and had to pay a fine. I would love to go back to the resort in a year and see how it looks after the complete renovation!

    NOT ACCEPTABLE

    We checked in May 19th with VIP Sian Kian only to find out the resort was closing and changing owners. Booking.com never contacted us or gave us the option to cancel our reservation. The construction was terrible, by the pool, next to our room, below us, above us, all around the resort, woke us up, saw dust from the workers in our plunge pool, worker just standing around watching people. The smell of the halls gave me a headache everyday. At Café Del Mar, Lizette or Miguel never once offered us drinks of food while on the Bali beds on the beach. I had to go get them. If I was given the option to cancel my reservation I would have before flying 7 hours to a resort closing.. I was not even given a discount from the resort its. Remember this is all part of the Grand Oasis name and they do have other sister resorts. We were told we would be moved there but then found out it was booked. I will be having to file a lawsuit to get some money back.
