We did not realize these condo's are time share, not that this is a problem, there was even a visitors book with a welcome note from the owners and to communicate suggestions for a better stay, nice personal touch. We stayed in room 36 in the Banyan building and had a beautiful garden and pool view. The facilities are great, everything you need, good beds, bathroom was very large, huge shower, plenty of room everywhere. The grounds are perfect, two pools and a stroll to the beach. The beach board walk along the water front is good for an early morning or late afternoon walk, seems to go on forever,we never reached the end of it. The staff are very friendly and happy to look after your needs, and the concierge service (Dave or Gina) is really good, we booked our tours here, "road to Hana", sunrise in Haleakala national park and a Luau. There is a free shuttle service to Whalers Village which has some lovely shops and good restaruants, but they get very busy so best book or you may have to wait for a table. Try Lailanis fish tacos!!!. You can catch a local bus to Lahainia from Whalers Village for $2. We were told we would have to catch a taxi or uber, Not so.
Wonderful location but overpriced
This hotel is very well located but the rooms are not as advertised. We had a pleasant stay but we were disappointed with the general condition of the accommodation. The one bedroom ocean view we stayed was very clean but dated with dark worn carpet, the furniture was old and uncomfortable, the appliances were white and old, TVs were very small and the walls were decorated with nursery artwork.
What a breathtaking adventure at Lahaina, Maui going to the depths of the ocean floor coming face to face with a shark and enjoying the smooth ride on this wonderful submarine seeing all the spectacular marine life 140 ft below sea level. We traveled in January 2014.
We love Maui. We tried the Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas this time with much anticipation. We stayed in the condos by the pool and beach. Everything was great until plumbing problems. No fault of the establishment. The staff handled it so well. They made our stay wonderful. They moved us without question to a new condo. This condo was no as modern as the first and they moved us again into a beautiful unit. We didn’t like the moving but the staff made it painless. They looked after everything. We were at the beautiful beach on the property. Gorgeous warm golden sand. The restaurant on site was very good as well. We think the staff make or break a good holiday. We can’t thank the staff enough. Wonderful service. Would definitely be back soon. The condos are next to the beach. If you want a good view ask for a second (top) floor.
I stayed in this property recently for 4 nights with my pregnant wife. I made an online booking looking at the beautiful pictures of the resort with beach view, kitchen and all the good reviews but i was in for a surprise from the beginning i checked in. Initially i was offered a room towards the back-end of the property at 5th floor. The elevator in the property operated very slowly and it felt like it needed repairs. I dint book a room with a beach view but looking at the picture i was hoping for a room which has some beach sound, but the room they gave me was overlooking the street with loud traffic noise and no kitchen. I reached out to front desk to change my room and was ready to pay for a premium but unfortunately every room in the front was booked and so the front desk person offered me a different room in the 1st floor which felt much better than the 1st one because this room had a kitchen and Garden view at least. On the day of our check out we had a booking for early morning sunrise view at Haleakala National Park. So we started from the hotel at 3 am in the morning and it is a 2 hour drive to the summit. I was hoping to return around 9 am after sunrise and to checkout before 11 am but we got delayed and reached around 10.30 am. So i called the Front office requesting for a late checkout . The immediate response was a big NO in a rude tone and without even asking how long we need. So i disconnected the call hoping if i present myself to the front office then may be they will reconsider but they din't. I have been to all Hawaiian islands, and i travel for work with membership in some branded hotels where they offer a courtesy time sometimes if we request for. In this situation i already had a long morning with 4 hour drive and with my pregnant wife all i was expecting was an additional 30 minutes or may be 15 mins to take shower and to pack up. So i kindly requested the lady in the front desk (her name is Leann) explaining our situation but she was just adamant even after i requested several times and said NO again and asked us to checkout before 11 with only 15 mins remaining and use the hotel restrooms for shower. I lost my cool at that moment, felt like i was talking to a deaf person, came back and checked out immediately by 11. The next check-in to the property is at 4 pm and i just cant believe that these guys dint even have 15 mins to offer us. I called the property manager after i checked out and gave my feedback and requested that they don't treat other guests like this in future.
