Great for location
Our room 155 looked dated with 1980s decor and is garden view, but we were lucky enough to have a patio view of the ocean because there is a vacant lot there for sale. The lobby is quite nice and security good. We saw the security guy giving lots of parking tickets to cars in no parking zones or in handicapped space without tag. The landscaping is superb and the walk is maybe 5 min to the public beach. I don't like beaches here, even this one. They are very steep with quick drop so no shallow waters here at the resort or most of the beaches here. I did not feel safe with son here and he can swim. No lifeguards. The room was dated, waters not shallow, orange sand so waters not crystal clear turquoise waters, need car and we came from East coast so party of 3 with rental car $4800. Gorgeous drives on 30 to resort. Staff good. Pools not modern or pretty, but landscaping very nice. Pools and rooms should be updated by owners. Laundry room ok. We had 3 loads for 6 days'worth So $2.50 a load. $15 in quarters. Bring pods. Hawaii is pricey with having to pay for parking,$20 tips to tour hosts/waiters, tours, $20 a day resort fee, etc. Probably spent $7000, including luau, helicopter tour, dinner cruise, aquarium on this trip, but not likely to return. Would have been nice if room was updated for price we paid.
This property has a great location with super easy beach access and minimal crowds. Go for the condo properties that are closer to the water. The staff here is friendly and the grounds are very well maintained.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel, the room had everything we needed, although the air conditioning was very noisy when trying to sleep, the pool was nice the beach and amenities were all nice , I used the gym which is Nicely equipped .
After reading some of the reviews I became concerned about my booking but should not have worried. Booked 2 premium rooms one king size and one twin for teenage children. We were in the coconut building which backed onto the road but never heard traffic at all - benefit of this location was being near the quiet pool. The rooms and grounds are immaculate and never once did we have any problem getting a sunbed, beach was lovely. Ate at castaways a couple of times and food and service very good. Walk to whalers was 20 minutes on beach path and very nice. Also used free shuttle a couple of times. If you want a relaxing holiday this is ideal - much preferable to those high rise hotels with pools in view of everyone.
Very Pleasant Resort
Our studio room had been recentlyrenovated and was pretty close to top-drawer. Our view was of "The Pool" across a lawn and garden. Easy walk to the ocean, the big pools, and a restaurant. Very responsive staff. Grocery store close by as well as Lahaina, etc. Would stay here again.
