Fantastic hotel at a great location at Maui!
Kihei is very relaxed and friendly place to stay at Maui. Drier than the north shore and no skyscraper hotels and more busy shopping as was at Kaanapali. Maui coast hotel is next to the beach which is ideal for surf beginners and sunset is marvelous to watch! There is short distance to shop/restaurants. The hotel has a quiet pool with a pool bar with nice food and live music. We also enjoyed the free tennis court and bycycles. Friendly staff, rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped.
Ideal hotel across the street from Kam1 beach
This is the third time we've stayed at Maui Coast Hotel. Hotel provides Gilchrist & Soames bath products; and the junior suite (625) is equipped with mini-fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, and bar sink along with tub/shower. The hotel does not have rooms which offer a full ocean view; the best one can get is a "partial" (obscured) view although the rooms have balconies. The daily resort fee includes free use of washer/dryer (detergent can be purchased), parking, newspaper, wi-fi. King bed was comfortable. The best aspects of the Maui Coast hotel is location: directly across the street from Kam I, around the corner from the best fish food truck, and within close proximity to many restaurants and shops. ABC is less than a block away. Pool is small and towels are provided.
Hotel is in a great location (just across the street and is already on the beach). Hotel and rooms clean and well organized. Only thing the hotel does not offer is breakfast, but it has the hotel restaurant (it pays), or if you want to have lunch or dinner it is also paid ... but it is well served with a good abundance of food and very delicious and the menu is very varied. Parking is free as well as the internet.
A bit disappointing
I stayed in this hotel a few years ago, and I remember loving it. I came back, and something was different. I am not sure what it was. I guess this place is somewhat cheaper compared to other hotels in Kihei and Lahaina. Yet, it is still very expensive. Staff were friendly. Jacuzzi is small and was packed at night. There was a band by the pool side. House keeping left an used shampoo in the shower area. Everything was kind average. I guess the room was just average and there was no twin beds available. It was very far from the front desk.
Convenient location with nice, quiet rooms, at reasonable price.
I knew the area where I wanted to stay, and searched hotels from the hotel maps. Maui Coast Hotel was a good mix of everything, at reasonable prices. Luxury places on the water are nicer, but cost double or triple what I paid. Without paying for a more expensive ocean view room, ask for a view of the hills, and not interior building walls. Top floor is the quietest. Mandatory facility fee of about $30 with tax is NOT INCLUDED in your price quote. Free water bottles for each person and coffee in room every day was nice. Plenty of easy parking. Pool is OK.
