Nice facility....great staff
Some really good staff here, this helps make the trip so enjoyable. The bar area (Mariana Y.J.) had amazing service. Lots of others like Allan in the restraunt areas were great, amazing presentation and helpfull! Quite relaxing with lots of poolside time....everything situated close by with lots of food choices.
Need another holiday from this one
Like a few other reviewers have stated, if you're looking to relax, this resort may not be for you. We (couple) stayed the last two weeks of June and it was bananas. Way too many people and the two main pools were crowded. The adult pool was a bit better but set back from the beach/ocean. The bartenders at the two main pool bars were not all that friendly despite our many attempts at friendly banter. The speaker system at the main grand pool is super loud, like unpleasant. The entire two weeks we were disappointed with the warm beer served in acrylic cups at the pool bars only to discover on our last night, thanks to an American visitor who had a 'Vacation Club' membership (which he regretted, BTW), that we could get COLD BOTTLES OF BEER from the M&M Bar. If we had know this little tidbit of info, it would have been nice. And we found that alot....had we known this or had we known that. So many little things to keep in mind and restaurant reservations to make and/or keep...it complicated our vacation mindset. They just need to simplify. Nice Family Resort
I traveled to the Marival Emotions from July 27th-August 3rd with my wife and boys (15 + 11 years old). We are experienced Mexico/Caribbean beach travelers who all-inclusive (minimum 4 star) at least once a year. We took a taxi from the airport to the resort and the ride was 15-20 minutes. If you go outside the airport terminal over the walk bridge to get a taxi it is less expensive than the airport taxi’s. We paid 200 pesos for our taxi to Marival. Going over the bridge was easy, safe and took 2-3 minutes. The return taxi fare was 180 pesos from a Marival taxi that the Bell staff will arrange for you. The Marival lobby is nice, open-air and comfortable. We arrived early (before 12:00) and our room was not ready. A Marival representative asked us to have a seat and showed us a map of the property and where everything was (restaurants, theater, pools, etc.). He then wanted us to arrange breakfast and a 90 minute timeshare tour the next morning. What they had to offer in return for the tour was not worth the time for our family and we declined the offer. Rooms: We booked a 2 bedroom/3 full bath suite through Funjet. We were given a beautiful 2 level oceanview suite in the Club building. The main level had a spacious living room with 2 sofa’s and oversized chair plus a dining area with table that seats 6. There is a microwave and mini-fridge that was stocked with soda’s daily. We had a large oceanview balcony on the main level. The bedrooms were upstairs. They had televisions in each room and had their own private oceanview balconies and full bathrooms. Shampoo and location were re-stocked daily. Pools/Beach: The resort is well maintained and very comfortable. The Grand side of the property seems to be regular hotel rooms. There is a 5 story building and a 6 story building, and they all seem to have nice views. This is a noiser/louder side of the property. There are 2 pools, a kids pool with water slides, and a pool with more activities/games and louder music. The Club side consist of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites and are 3 story buildings (no elevators). There are 2 pools on this side, one being an adult pool. This side of the property seems quieter and seems to have less people. We swam and hung out at all of the pools, but spent more time and enjoyed the Club side the best (personal preference). There were plenty of loungers at the pools and the beach. We never had a problem getting 4 loungers together at any time of the day, there is also plenty of shade if needed at the pools and beach. The beach has soft sand and is good for long walks. I walked every day and if walking north, never reached the end of the beach. Restaurants: There are 3 restaurants and the buffet. The restaurants were nice and comfortable (Steak House was outside). The food was good and the atmosphere and presentation was nice. You do need to make reservations for the restaurants. This can be done in the Club lobby. There are 2 open-air eating areas during the day that have a variety of food and drinks. Grand side is next to the kid’s pool and beach. Club side is next to the adult pool. Resort: There are 4 nice tennis courts, a basketball court and soccer field. There are Marival bikes (free) that you can check out and ride around the area. The area around Marival is nice and we always felt safe. I would recommend taking the morning bike tour to acclimate yourself with the area before heading out on your own. I rode everyday to Bucerias, Paradise Village and the Dolphin Adventure Park. Great way to get out and see some of the surrounding area. The weight/exercise room is good size with adequate equipment. The Teen’s club has video games, pool tables, ping pong tables and an air hockey table. There is a 9 hole mini golf course and 2 shuffle board courts. There is a covered open-air theater with shows at 9:00 every night. WiFi is not free at Marival. The Club lobby is the only location where free WiFi is available. We had a great time at the Marival Emotions and I enjoyed our vacation. The resort is nice, beautiful grounds and kept clean. The employees, from the management staff, front desk, restaurant/bar staff, housekeeping and the grounds crew were friendly, hardworking and seemed to be there to make our vacation a nice experience. I was pleased with our decision to stay here. I would rate our suite/room 5 star and rate the Marival Emotions as a 4 star resort. I hope this review helps in making your decision. Have a great trip!
The service was wonderful, the views were beautiful and everyone was so kind! My husband and I loved the M&M bar! Dalia, our server, was extremely great. I highly recommend checking them out! Downtown is not that far, which makes it nice if you want to walk the markets.
Great summer vacation to Marival
Marival is always a favorite destination of ours. We love the feel and the people who make us feel at home. My kids have been coming with us to Marival for the last 12 years and they want to keep coming back. I believe in this hotel, the people are what sets them apart from all hotel choices around. Berenice Fernandez and her front desk team were awesome as always. Fernando with activities and entertainment are doing an awesome job. Kudos to Lupita, Karaly and Ivan who are always friendly and welcoming. At Mai Tai, Paloma doing an awesome job, Daniel has been a great addition to the team at Mai Tai and Laura and bartenders are great. New restaurant captain Daniela was a great surprise, we have known her for a while and glad she got the opportunity at Palomas and La Bamba. Guillermo is awesome at La Bamba. Great vacation overall. We will be back.
