I'll be very brief... Food variety is very limited. We noticed big difference between food offered to Club Members than that offered to everyone. There are no coffee machines for self use or any sort of cookies that other resorts would have available with coffee. It feels like a push to pay for Starbucks coffee. There are positive things like the beach and entertainment as well as cleanliness. Internet is also a good perk.
Great Family Vacation!!!
We were here a few years ago with a group of friends, we liked it so much we brought all of our kids there for a week. The staff was so great both times. We knew this would be the place for our kids. The animation team was so awesome, very entertaining, one of the biggest reasons we came with our kids. The pool games are so much fun as well as the water sports and Beach volleyball. The staff play along side with you and are very involved. The shows are very entertaining and well done the staff seem to really like what they do. They remember names and stop and talk to you as they walk by. Whether it's Geno coming by and playing with our grandson or Ivan inviting my son to come lift weights with him, all of them go the extra mile to make our stay even better. So a big thank you to the entire animation team, especially Ivan, Genaro, Fucundo, Karaly, Robetzy, Bibi, Ruben, Julio. Marival is blessed to have all of you on staff. We'll see you again. Cheers
Beautiful & Clean BUUUUUT...
I will admit that I chose Marival Emotions Resort & Suites based on the positive reviews and price tag ($819 CAD for 7 days all-inclusive), however, my experience at the resort once I got there was quite different from what I read. Pros: 1) Clean Facility — The rooms and facilities are clean as are the pools (which is important if you spend a lot of time there). 2) Friendly Staff — The staff were very friendly which was great because I was traveling solo, so it made my time more enjoyable! Cons: 1) Timeshare Presentation — Upon arrival, I was made to sit down and talk to a supervisor about a timeshare presentation they wanted me to observe the following morning. I will accept responsibility for not saying ‘no’ to seeing the presentation when I should have upon my arrival. Mental note for my next visit to Mexico. 2) Food — I had stomach issues 2 out of the 7 days I stayed at Marival, and I can only guess that it was from the poor quality food. The only edible food was at the a la cart meals where reservations are required. 3) Family Oriented — If you are looking for rest and relaxation, and do not want to hear screaming children everywhere you go, Marival is a poor choice. There is an adult only pool, but everywhere else on the resort caters to the family experience. All in all, my experience was okay. I survived my stay at Marival with few issues, but will I return? No.
Had a blast at this resort. It's beautiful, well maintained, the food was exceptional. More than anything else, the staff was amazing. I want to send a special thank you to Florencio for the his exceptional restaurant service. Bryan, Ivan, Rueben, Karaly, Jessi, Bibi, Julian, and the rest of the Marival Animations team -- you kept the energy high. The shows were great and you made this solo traveller feel like I belonged. Esparta and Robertzy, thanks for all the fun! 100% recommend this resort.
We have been home from March until May thinking about what to write. I am a regular contributor on TripAdvisor. We have been so fortunate to return to Nuevo Vallarta for almost the last 10 years. In that time our 3 boys have grown up there spending most Christmas’ there. We have over the years moved down the beach and this year tried the Marival. We were very excited as we have stayed down the beach at two other resorts for all those years. The Marival always presented so well as we drove by it on the way to older resorts. We were so excited. The arrival to a gorgeous lobby and delightful staff did not disappoint. And yes we are those few people who were there to find out about the time share and rental possibilities as we make our retirement plans. To us it was perfect. We could purchase or rent and our family could stay in the condos with us and as we have a large family while others could stay in hotel rooms. Win win! So yes we were happy to pay the$10 and sign up for the presentation. Short of giving blood we were approved and had a meeting at 9:00 am the next morning. Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 different employees. No worries we had our official invite and had paid the deposit. To out absolute shock TWO employees sent us away as our last names didn’t match. Yes I kept my maiden name. We were now cordially not invited and I use the word cordially sarcastically. That is their policy he loudly spoke as we walked away. Off to the beach we went. Their loss. The end to that disaster is that they called our room and showed up at our door apologizing and offering us a double resort credit of approximately $200. We declined as our integrity was not for sale. How could we ever trust this staff with our investment. Moving on....... The interior of the the hotel is spectacular. Our room was glorious. We were on the ground floor which was a first for us. It was spectacular except for the night the hotel staff didn’t have the courage to ask people who had stayed past pool closing to leave despite how loud drunk and obnoxious they were. Only one night. Beach chairs were at a premium and had our watches resynced before charging we would never had known that by 7 am chairs are all reserved. Restaurants Well we booked our basic 3 reservations on line and since we upgraded decided to make our extra a la carte reservations upon arrival. Ugh. Two reservations were completed but with totally different times. We then spent our next morning trying to get our 3rd reservation. No such luck. The young woman said we had to come back Saturday as the reservation cycle restarts. And when we came back as directed she then told us the steak house wasn’t open that day????? So why did she tell us to come back. Ok moving on we said we would then like to go back to the Amalfi as it was tremendous. Ok she said and made the reservation. Upon our arrival they turned us away despite many empty tables as she had made it for the next night. So no dinner. Ironically she made the reservation for the next night when the Mexican Fiesta was on but didn’t share that with us. So confusing. In a week stay we ended up getting 2a la carte dinners despite upgrading for more. The ABSOLUTE PLUS was the restaurant and bar staff. We are not heavy drinkers but tried a variety os DELICIOUS drinks. Bar staff were personable attentive kind and friendly. Restaurant staff were the same. Cannot say enough about bar and restaurant staff. Reception staff was warm but efficient at best. So as we have booked already for the 6 of us for Christmas 2019 I am sad to say that the Marival has lost our business. Feel badly because the serving staff was so spectacular. Management needs to hear some real feedback.
