Ok for the price, if it was cheaper it would have been very good.

I travelled with my wife and 2 kids of ages 4 & 2. And after reading all the bad reviews I had really low expectations, but was surprised on the outcome. ----Disclaimer: I don't require much room service for food or cleaning (I just re-stock on towels & toilet paper once / twice a week) we hang our towels after use, and I throw out the garbage myself or leave it out for them to take it. We hardly go to the beach so not much sand in the room (we're pool people). Also I don't mind getting up to get my own napkins, drinks, and cutlery. And I don't need employees to be happy and smiling all day saying hi to me and asking how I am every time I see them. I wouldn't want to do that when I'm working at my job. but that's just me. ---- Nice airport, safe island, cost us $40 to get to the hotel by taxi. $35 to come back to the airport. you can walk 15-20min to downtown from hotel if you like. Great location. ---Cleanliness - I got there on a slow week on a Thursday and told them at check in that I only require 2 things: clean room/beds & AC working properly - I don't care about the view or location of the room. So we were put in the back of the main building where the balcony faced the water park. Our kids loved that, and we barely used the balcony. Room was clean and AC worked all week - yes it's not as strong as they are back in US but it worked just fine and never broke. ---Room: Spacious, get the double king bed, it's nice. not a lot of closet space or drawers (just an armoire), but we made it work. Smart TV worked great with the kids with youtube while we got ready and were in the room. --Tips: Pool towel cards, you need to have these by end of your stay or they charge you if you lose them. Bring a euro charger converter - you can rent them for $10 refundable deposit for your stay. Just dont lose the receipt and the chargers. Dont use the chargers with high voltage stuff like blow dryer or iron. ---The other guests: mostly European or from south America - they were ok, mostly Dutch, we just didn't like the smoking everywhere, specially at the entertainment which was outside and we had to smell the smoke during the show. --Beach: beautiful man made beach with swings, and other things, but rocky. Bring water shoes. go early enough for a seat / umbrella - --Pool: Big pool, if your kids can't swim, bring floaties for them. if you're shorter than 5 ft bring a floatie. The pool is like 5 ft everywhere, no decline from shallow to deep other than the stairs to go in/out or the ones to the bar, also there's a little edge where its like 1 foot tall where the kids can play too or jump off of. Both my kids had a blast! Unfortunately water wasn't fully clear, apparently there's a chemical that does this that they don't use. Not really sure, but we didn't get sick from it or anything. --Water park; super fun for my kids. but there's no super vision on the little slides so you have to be parenting with your kids if you want them to be safe. no big deal. big slides were fun but some were closed most days (not enough employees to supervise them all) --Restaurants - all of them are outside, no ac - it's an island enjoy the nice weather. ----Buffett enjoyed the food, breakfast didn't change much but i was ok with the so many available items every day and a great omelet station. Lunch had great variation of food and so did dinner but don't do both at buffett because then you repeat some. ----Lunch grill - it's ok, mostly fried food and burgers/hotdogs. ----Italian go early (530p-6p) and make the line to get in, it's not bad but we're from NY so we're used to great italian. ----Sushi gotta make line to get in unless you go early (530p-6p), i don't recommend this place, it's just california & philly rolls and a bunch of tar tar - not worth it compared to those all you can eat sushi places - just go to buffett ----BBQ & Seafood- you can make reservations, every day at the concierge - don't use the app... go at 930a to reserve for the next day, there will be a line for reservations every day - same day reservation is impossible. BBQ food is great!, Seafood is good too but I preferred the BBQ -----Early dinning: I recommend early dinners 530p-6p, yes you miss out on more pool time but you can have time for kids to play at the play ground and then join the festivities that start at 830p -----Pigeons: there are a lot in the buffet and lunch grill place. They didn't bother us, cover your food and shoo them away if they come close. Don't leave your table with food uncovered. --Bars - When on vacation you eat WAY more than at home, so to feel buzzed you need to drink A LOT more, so I recommend bringing a big tumbler and stop getting those sweet drinks - get simple stuff like vodka lime club soda or rum & coke, or just straight up liquor/shots....Or if you like those super sweet drinks, maybe drinks them before breakfast then to feel buzzed? ----The pool bar has good and friendly people working there, but don't use them, they're just too busy for the amount of people. If you don't mind waiting then that's fine, go to the pool bar, and don't be afraid to call them over if you believe you're next. They're not ignoring you, just can't keep up with so many people. They only use cheap alochol at pool bar. ----Lobby Bar - This is where I went to every day all the time, they have recognizable low shelf liquor like barcadi / smirnoff - there's no mid or top shelf anywhere. But I would ask them to squeeze a lime in my tumber, not too much ice, and smirnoff / clubsoda and I was set! just needed 2 per day to get a buzz and a 3rd to maintain it. If you want to get drunk, then skip lunch. (not recommended with kids) ----Cafe Bar good for coffee & smoothie drinks, but they dont have a full bar. ---- Water park bar - not a full bar but they have some stuff there that'll hold you over. -- Entertainment: Kids disco is great! from 8:30p 20 to 30min. Then 9 or 930p Every other night there was a DJ or band played music, the other nights it was some sort of dancing show, on flag day they had a carnaval - it was very cool, and they even had a fire show one day which we loved - get there early so you can get the front row - the little stage they have isn't used by the dancers so they aren't up high for you to see them if you sit in the back, this is also why i recommend early dinners. In the morning and afternoon we were doing water park and pool but the entertainment were fun too, just not a lot of it. they had a schedule on their website you can follow. ---Excursions: they won't allow you to do most of them with little kids, they don't recommend it either, so i had a nice excursion lady that recommended us to go on a historical tour around town on a TUKTUK - this was the best! We got to learn so much, definitely do this if you have time! it's a little sketchy with little kids because no car seats, but our guy drove very safe and had a lot of information. It's not a bus where you get AC, but we didn't mind the heat. The island is beautiful and safe - Conclusion, I don't like to repeat places, but if I did, i wouldn't come back, mostly because of the price, I would expect more from them. If I paid this much for a resort in DR or Cancun I would get a lot more service and luxury. Regardless, we had a great time and loved Curacao!, But I also went with super low expectations. If you get a good deal, then I recommend it and try to follow my tips above / lower your expectations. Otherwise, go to DR or Cancun.

    No Go

We had been looking forward to an amazing holiday and worked hard and invested in it all year. Unfortunately, we felt misled by the information on Corendon’s website. The hotel is presented as a 5-star accommodation with ultra-luxurious facilities. However, upon arrival, this was far from the truth. The hotel meets the standards of a 3 or 4-star and leaves much to be desired in many areas. Additionally, the staff is unfriendly, and we frequently encountered the problem of running out of water, beer, and other local drinks. This is absolutely not what we expect from a 5-star hotel. We feel like we spent a lot of money on a vacation that was not worth the price and expectations. The facilities were far from the promised luxury, and throughout our stay, we constantly felt that we did not receive the quality we paid for. Furthermore, when entering the restaurant, the tables were not cleared, and throughout our entire vacation, I had to ask the staff for a cloth to clean our tables and to remove the dirty dishes myself. This was not just my experience, but other guests had the same issue. This was truly appalling. Additionally, the entertainment was very poor. We rarely saw the animation team during the day, maybe once for twenty minutes by the pool. In the evenings, the entertainment consisted of just three themes: karaoke, a live band, and a live DJ. This cycle repeated every three days. This was extremely disappointing.
