HOTEL: At first glance we thought this place looked fabulous. We had a 2 room suite on the 5th floor with balconies looking right at the pool and ocean. What made the hotel 3 stars was 1. The small ants coming through the balcony doors and on the counter in the living area 2. A bad smell that permeated the room every day 3. Lack of consistency in housekeeping- some days we’d get towels, sometimes not. One day they came at 9am while we were still getting ready for the day and another time I had to request cleaning at 3pm. BARS: the drinks were strong so no complaints there but the bartenders at the pool bar are SO SLOW and not friendly. No acknowledgment that they know you’re waiting- no chit chat- no smiles. POOL: main pool fills up by 11:00-12:00. RESTAURANTS: definitely average. The hotel app to make reservations always said “nothing available” but if you wait in line every morning at 10am we would get a reservation. AND - you had to do this every day as you could only make a reservation for the following day. The restaurants have set times so basically after waiting in line to get the reservation, you also wait in line to get your table at the assigned time, and then you wait for your drinks and food as only 2 servers are waiting on the entire place at the same time. Turns out this was the only all inclusive where the buffet was the best restaurant. The servers are too busy to be friendly. Nobody looks like they enjoy what they’re doing. BEACH: rocky and small. Man made in the sense that a rock break wall is what creates calm enough waters to swim in. The Mangrove Beach swing is in such deep water that very few adults can get up in the swings. LOCATION: it is close enough to the tourist areas near Queen Emma bridge that you can easily walk it in 20 minutes. We did this 3 of our 5 days- safe to walk at night too. But be aware that you are also right next to the cruise ship pier so big ships are part of your view.

Our stay at Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The service throughout the entire resort was poor and unprofessional. The bartenders rarely served guests and instead spent most of their time sitting around gossiping with each other. At the restaurants, the food quality was very low, and we constantly had to serve ourselves drinks and search for our own cutlery. Many staff members were walking around on their phones what felt like 98% of the time, showing little interest in guests. The rooms are in need of serious maintenance. Our room safe was rusty, and the bathroom sink would not drain properly. Basic upkeep is clearly being neglected. The beach chairs are old and worn out, making it uncomfortable to relax. The beach itself was another letdown — very small, crowded, and filled with rocks, which made swimming unpleasant. There was also little to no entertainment available, leaving the resort feeling dull and lifeless. To make matters worse, when it came time to leave, the resort had no information about our airport transfer. Instead of helping, we were told to “figure it out” and call someone ourselves, which was incredibly stressful and unacceptable. Overall, this resort does not live up to expectations. Poor service, lack of organization, and neglected facilities made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation. ### Key Insights from Our Beach Experience During our stay, we found that the family-friendly beach offered limited sandy areas, with much of the shoreline being sharp and rocky underfoot. While we found water shoes to be somewhat helpful, navigating the terrain still required caution. The beach area is shallow for approximately 10 to 15 feet before it drops off significantly. Additionally, it is bordered by large boulders, which support a boardwalk catering to the massive cruise ships that dock alongside slowly. One challenge we faced was the scarcity of loungers and umbrellas, as demand was high from both guests on the adult-only side of the resort and visitors from the cruise ships. This issue extended to the buffet restaurants, where the presence of adult guests and cruise ship passengers often led to limited options or empty trays, particularly during peak meal times. Moreover, the resort's app for making requests consistently malfunctioned or failed to respond, complicating our experience. Reservations for à la carte dining, which were exclusively handled through the app, were frequently either fully booked or unavailable. This left us with little choice but to rely on the main buffet restaurant. Attempts to address room issues through the app were equally unsuccessful; despite making several phone calls from our room, no action was taken. We even visited the front desk to voice our concerns, but unfortunately, no accommodations were made. Found out from others that they were also having issues with red ants in their rooms mostly on furniture and on the bed. Especially on the beach. On a positive note, after embarking on an off-resort excursion to swim with turtles, we discovered several stunning beaches that provided a refreshing escape and were truly worth a day’s visit. The Atv adventure excursion can get really dusty, but it too was a nice offroading experience. The main city or the downtown with the moving bridge is colourful on Thursdays as there are fireworks, live bands, vendors, and alot of outdoor and shopping activities. Overall Would rate this resort a 3.5 to 4 Stars.
