    My husband and I are in the middle of our three-week vacation at the Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana. We read the offerings and upgraded to “Club”. We were offered “Private Check In” but what it didn’t say was it would take just over two hours to do so. Then we finally got to our room and our bags arrived 45 minutes later. “Surprise in room” for sure Champagne on a shelf under lights, no ice, couldn’t fit in fridge and no glasses. “Pillow Menu” on second day we had to ask for more than three small pillows. “Robes & Slippers”……finally received after we asked for them on the third day, they arrived but had no belts. We asked and were told there were none. “Bath Kit” ? Still don’ know what that means on the 12th day. Housekeeping has missed our room on four out of the first ten days. We then asked room to be done by 2:30 so that we could nap in the afternoon and twice since then it was not done, so we put “Do Not Disturb” on the door and yet Housekeeping came about 4:30 banging on the door. We saw many guests at the pool & beach with Majestic bags and asked other guests who were surprised that we didn’t get, so we asked and our Butler “Jacob” provided, one pair of flip flops (husband size 12 and none for him and none offered to me). No shirts but offered us liquor. 12th day and still no promised “Beach towels” in room Room service is prompt and welcome however when bringing coffee and tea, twice no cups and only one cup in our room. This morning coffee, cups milk but no tea. Requested Butler “Jacob to make Reservations at the French Restaurant which is required. This was on the 9th and Reservation for the 14th. He said no problem. We even confirmed with him on the 12th. We arrived at the restaurant t 6:30, my poor husband sweating as men must wear long pants and closed shoes! We were standing with other guests checking in and there seemed to be a problem. Lady called a man from inside the restaurant he looked at us and the sheet and said You do not have reservation. My husband showed texts with Butler, he said “No you can’t come in you didn’t pay.” We had no idea what he was speaking about as we are at an all-inclusive ? He said, “You can’t eat here as you didn’t pay!” This in front of all the guests waiting to get into the restaurant. Everyone looking at us and he just said, “ You will have to go somewhere else!” We went straight to Guest Services. We advised that at no point had we complained about the lack of service, the missing things from our room, etc. but this was totally UNACCEPTABLE. To be spoken this way in front of other guests!!! Camilla and Vanessa were doing there best to sort out and apologise but Larry and I were beyond that and just left. Camilla came after us and said they had arranged a reservation for us, and we did not have to pay the $140 (U.S.) for the dinner. She walked back to the restaurant with us, explained to the lady at the check-in and left wishing us a better evening as her shift had ended. We stood there and waited, the lady went not the restaurant and found “that man whose name I believe is Epedlio” he came out, took the piece of paper for the reservation, and went back into the restaurant on the phone. He came out again in about 5 minutes looked at the book then went back in, just leaving us standing there without a word. Finally, I walked in and said, “give me back our reservation” and took it from his hand. He followed me out and said, “ You can’t eat here we have no room, but we will give you the food to eat somewhere else”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL, EMBRRASSING AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY REASON. A QUIET CONVERSATION AWAY FROM OTHER GUESTS WOULD NOT HAVE RESULTED IN A DIFFERENT OUTCOME PERHAPS, BUT TO TREAT GUESTS THIS WAY……..THIS MAN SHOULD NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AS HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE WORDS MEAN. We have asked for 3 days now to speak with Management and have not even had the courtesy of a response. We have been to resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic and NEVER EVER have endured this type of behaviour. If it had been possible to get a refund and book a flight, we would have left. We even phoned an hotel where friends were staying a little further from here enquiring about moving…..but why should we pay more for the Majestic’s inability to perform what they promise. PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS RESORT OR THE ELEGANCE OR MIRAGE…….THINK AGAIN. WE WOULD NEVER WANT ANYONE ELSE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT WE HAVE HERE…..THEY THINK THEY ARE A 4-5 STAR HOTEL AND WE HAVE IN OUR TAVELS EXPERIENCED BETTER SERVICE AT A HOWARD JOHNSONS. We shall be posting this on all and any travel blogs, platforms so that people do not waste their hard earne dollars at this or any other Majestic facility.     Wonderful time at Majestic Colonial!

    Marino at the Palapa bar, by far the best and friendliest, bartender we found. Makes the best mojitos! Absolutely made our stay. His “special” was delicious as well. Hotel is great. Food choices are plentiful. Never had a bad meal. Favourite was the seafood restaurant. Buffet has a wonderful selection. Had a lovely time. Weather was great. Ocean has little to no seaweed, but was quite wavy

    There are a lot of positive things to say about this resort. Let me start there: Great: The staff is beyond amazing. The top performer was our butler, Emanual (we called him Manny). If you can choose your butler, choose Manny. He was constantly there for us, and it's hard to believe he took care of 30 rooms because it felt like we were his only customers. We got to know a couple of the entertainers, and we loved them. Nightly activities around the resort were great—lots of live entertainment in and outside the lobby. There were multiple places to hang out and meet people. The French and Asian restaurants were outstanding! WE were three couples, and two had issues with their rooms, but the hotel continuously found ways to compensate us for any problems we brought to their attention. Good: We did eat at the buffet several times, and it was okay. There was a lot of variety, but some of the food was just average. The seafood restaurant was not great. The nightly entertainment was a mix of good and not-so-good; it was a place to fill a couple of hours. The room was average and needed updates and upgrades. The wall plugs did not work very well. Bad: I was here two years ago, and the Michael Jackson show was outstanding and one of the reasons I was excited to come back. This year, it was horrible—not the same MJ as two years ago, and it was bad! Some of the bartenders were not nice or did not care about serving you. The check-in was really bad. There were six of us, and the check-in took two hours despite us being VIPs, which made me wish we had checked in at the non-VIP section instead. **Biggest Disappointment**: Two of our rooms had poop marks in the toilet and blood spots in the bathroom. The AC was broken, and there was no lock on the sliding door (first-floor room). One of the reasons I was excited to bring my friends to this resort was because of their pool and beach activities (inflatable obstacle course in the pool, inflatable giant darts on the beach, kayak race in the pool, and the white beach party). None of these happened this year. We asked many times and got the runaround. I had bragged about these events and convinced people to come, as these activities were amazing two years ago. They had very few fun games this year. **Summary**: I would come back, but I will need to see some of my favorite things return. One more thing: we have traveled 15 times to the DR and stopped doing excursions a few years ago HOWEVER!!! we did Happy Fish excursions this time and OMG!!! best, best, most fun we ever had. you should look it up.

    Luisa and Raoul are the best they are always making sure we are good and not missing anything. I loved my time here because they made it better! I love how warm they are! If You are looking for great service this is it! Come stay here you wont regret it! The service is excellente!

    Amazing time at the Majestic

    Had a great time beautiful resort, great beach and staff. We stayed for 12 nights January 31st to February 12th and weather was very nice. This is our 2nd time at the colonial and stayed once at elegance. We were looking to go Elegance however we had got a great deal on the Colonial Club so we booked and no regrets!! It was a great resort. Amazing beach and the staff weee amazing. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the buffet at the beach and all the night time restaurants were great. Also had stayed at club section and was well worth it Some staff in particular to thank Jesus our Butler, who was great. Niurka in the animation team amazing, and Dominigo at the Plaza bar who made best chocolate martinis Will definitely return!!! Shout out to all the staff and animation team
