Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda Punta Cana family trip
Our overall experience was excellent! The servers are outstanding and always go above and beyond to please the clients, despite their long hours of work and in such extreme heat- for the ones that work outdoors. Special thanks to Francis - bartender for being so attentive. Thanks as well to Aleksandra- waitress around the main pool. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Recommendations: 1. Create a better system where there are more chairs available around the pool. We had to start doing what everyone else did in order to find 2 lounges: Wake up by 7:30 am to reserve our seats. 2. Provide more availability for the a la carte restaurants. Although we stayed for 7 nights, we were only given 3 days of a la carte reservations as according to the customer service dept. all other restaurants were booked.

I will NEVER spend my hard earned money coming here again. My first time in Punta Cana was met by a major negative experience. One evening after dinner, the family and I went to see a show and didn't arrive until after 2 a.m. The next day, we discovered that someone had gone in our safe in the evening so we reported the incident. Thinking the money went missing that exact day, the investigation focused on that day. The room and safe report revealed a housekeeper entered the room though the "do not disturb" door hanger was left and no towels or sheets were replenished mind you, we were sure that the money went missing during the evening before when we were out. When we discovered this, we spoke to the "Director" Arturo Garcia, who wasn't even concerned about our loss. He did nothing to try to rectify the issue. Our family spent over $30,000 as a group of 24 people to come together here in this resort. Sister in law's room had to be changed 4 times for termites who had been eating away at the furniture in the room, stench and sanitation issues, one of our cousin's money was stolen from their wallet, which was left on the dresser, an uncle's bed broke and collapsed while they were sleeping. Please do NOT waste your time, money or memories in Punta Cana's worst "luxury" resort. Not only did I waste time on following up with this complaint, we could not participate in excursions or bring back memories because of the loss.
Grand Bahía principe Esmeralda
I stayed here with my Wife and 16 year old son in August 2019, having booked based on trip advisor reviews. Our stay warrants mixed ratings. The grounds are great and worthy of the 4 star rating, as are the pools. The beach location is very good, one of the best around and the staff work endlessly to keep the seaweed under control. The rooms are good, but the tv is poor with a very grainy signal which renders it useless. We had 3 people in our room, yet only had 2 cups, 2 glasses, 2 of each item in the fridge. Everyday we took an extra glass and cup to our room, so our son could drink with us, but everyday the maids removed it. That said, this did not ruin our holiday. The a la Carte restaurants were all excellent, especially the Tapanyaki restaurant, which was a great experience. The pool bar staff and waiters at all 3 pools were excellent. The entertainment was poor on the whole, with nothing on offer most nights after 10pm. There was however entertainment in neighbouring hotels that you can go to. The worst part of the hotel was the main buffet restaurants. These offer the worst service I have ever had at an hotel. People are made to queue outside waiting for a table, when we got a table, it inevitably had 4 chairs and 2 place settings. I would sit there and let my wife and son go for their food, then on their return, they would sit at the made up places and I’d get my food. When I returned on at lest 6 times in 14 visits, there would still be no place setting. Waiters would walk by and ask if I’d finished. We would not receive water when we asked for it. I don’t understand why they only cater for multiples of 2, as this fundamental part of the hotels let’s it down massively
Great family resort
Excellent service, very good food, great beach (some seaweed but cleaned every day) Lunch available at the seaside was great.Staff are extremely helpful and any issues that arise are solved on the spot.I would highly recommend for a family vacation. They are putting in a water park for Esmeralda which will make it even better. We were also able to get access to Fantasia for the last 5 days of our stay which made things amazing. I would highly recommend asking for the option after you are there.
Great Resort, Great Vacation.
It was our families first time at the Esmeralda. We had a very great time. Very spotless , very clean everywhere we went. The beach was wavy and it did have some seaweed but overall it was very nice. The food was great. Our rooms were always clean and the staff always friendly. If there was a problem, the front desk was ready to help. The only minor issue we had involved the automated coffee machines that were shut down at 7 pm. If you wanted to have a coffee after this time you had to travel to another resort by trolley. The other issue involving coffee is that they did not have a traditional espresso/cappuccino machine at the bar. Above all, we had a great vacation.
