This is my second time in Bahia Principe and I cant wait to return. The staff, the amenities, the variety of food and fruit, was excellent. This time Restaurant Don Pablo was excellent and also the Mediterranean. In my first visit to Bahia principe I noticed that it was an adult hotel but I got surprised that now they accept kids and young adults. About my room we were so happy and satisfied with the room that we got, facing the west coast when the sunset and the moonset they were a show every night we were there. Thanks to Jose the butler, Pamela the server and many other associates that made our stay comfortable and pleasant. If you decide to go to this hotel, I recommend you to rent a car and to explore Samana that have many other wonderful beaches and you can interact the people that live around there. Samana has a lot of history that many people don't know. The entire town is a safe place to visit.
My husband and I stayed at this property for 4 days during part of our Honeymoon. Beautiful property, staff friendly, good food. Average rating, because last full day at the property our relaxing and perfect vacation turned stressful. I booked an all inclusive package, advertising I would receive free transfer to and from the airport. I did not need the initial transport from the hotel, because I was picked up from another nearby boutique resort, who provided airport transportation. For this hotel stay, I completed the online form for a one way transfer to the airport upon our checkout, however it was not received by the transportation company affiliated with the hotel. I began to panic, as we did not know how we were going to get there, but was told there was already a shuttle scheduled for a pick up for another guest, so they can certainly accommodate us, (thank god!!) however since it was 24 hrs. prior, I was responsible for a charge of $160 for shuttle transport! You're telling me there is already a shuttle coming, but because they don't have record of my confirmation. Clearly there was a miscommunication, however when I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager with the transportation company, I was told they were all off (it was a Sunday). My next step was to speak to a hotel manager, but when I asked to see one, I was given the same response. My husband and I were frustrated, as we felt a luxury hotel property would be more sympathetic to our situation, but no.
Beautiful Island - Destination Wedding - Excellent Service
I visited the resort for my friends Wedding and it was a big group of us over 60 people who came to celebrate. The resort is beautiful. The lush gardens surrounding the walkways were maintained daily and you can tell the staff here really care about the upkeep of the island. As the resort was pretty full by the end of the week this is where I need to give the shoutouts to the people who made the week a blast for not just me but our entire group. I hope management gives these guys the proper recognization for the work they do to ensure everyone is having a wonderful time. First and foremost ARMANDO - This man doesn't go home. He serves the lobby bar and did almost the entire week we were there. Double vodka/aqua's on deck. the only sketchy thing is they go to the back to fill up your drink most of the time which is not something you want to see much of in the DR with all the alchoal stories but I'm live and well so thanks Armando. EDUARDO - Pool Bar Service - We were at the quiet pool, The beach, the party pool and guess who was there all the time Fast Eddie. This guy doesn't stop moving. Great service and can balance 10 cervezas and 4 margaritas with one trip some would say the real MVP. FRANKEILY VENTURA - MANAGER- This man can make anything can happen. He took care of me and my party when I was at the wedding, to the beach bar, to veranda enjoying the show he would check in with us and make sure everything was satisfied. A couple I was with was celebrating an anniversary and he made arrangements to cater champagene and run a bubble bath to their delight. These little things make the guests feel pampered and goes a long way. LBP should promote Frankeily. MIGUEL PAULINO - Restaraunt Manager - Miguel managed the Don Pablo on the island which is hands down the best place to eat so make reservations early. The service we recieved here was 5 star. We came early and were offered service in several different languages and the food was 5 star. The dessert make sure you go for the cart and get some grand marnier in there. Miguel is professional and speaks very well. He should be recognized for the level of service he sets. YERY BALBUENA & WANDER RAMIREZ & YASKAR NICOLAS ENTERTAINMENT AND BEACH BAR CREW - These guys kept the party going all week with us. the week wouldn't be what it was without these guys keeping the DJ and music going on the beach bar while we danced up a storm all week. These guys were so personable and kept the resort young and fresh because it does have alot of seniors who visit so it was good to have these guys recruit people to party on the beach every night. they all deserve to be recognized. LBP- I listed these people because they were truly MVPs during the week for me and I know if my group or I asked for anything they would bend over backwords to assist me or my group. I hope the above get recognized for their great work and service.
Beautiful resort but not 5 ⭐️
My husband and I stayed at this resort for 4 nights and enjoyed the people and the attentive friendly service. The resort is beautiful set in a rainforest atmosphere with lovely paths, clean and inviting pools, and welcoming beaches with breath taking views. Our room was a junior suite which offered a large room with a jacuzzi and balcony over looking the Caribbean. Unfortunately we had to take cold showers due to a problem they had with the warm water. Not enjoyable at all! Our butler, Manuel was very helpful and helped make our stay very pleasant. Angel, the bartender at Flamboyan was very eager to make us happy with his special drinks. The disappointing part of our stay was the food. The a la carte restaurants served room temperature meals and very small portions. Don Pablo, the French restaurant was the best dinner we had. Flavorful food even though we left still hungry. We also set up a couples massage which was great! The spa is beautiful with a pool, cold dunk, and sauna. They do try to sell you a vacation club but in my opinion too many things need to be improved in order to want to come back to this resort family.
Well worth the transfer time and boat ride to get there. Paradise!!! Had a villa overlooking the water. Very senic. Font and rear balcony with jacozzi. Great restaurants! Nice beach, Lots of palm trees,
