Live Aqua is our the best all-inclusive we have ever visited. The staff, food, beach and pools are all fabulous. The rooms are immaculate and have views that cannot be beat! We cannot wait to return!!
Resort is fine, but be careful with the vacation club sales
Overall the resort is fine. I paid extra to upgrade the room which was bigger than other rooms. However, you need to be very careful with the club membership sales / timeshare sales. When you check in, there will be a server trying to schedule a presentation / appointment for you with the sales. We were so dumb, and trapped in this. I sent an official cancellation letter within 5 business days. The sales refused to cancel it for us. I have filed request with Kivac customer service. Accidentally found a person in Kivac, who committed we're sent letter within the 5 days and willing to help and follow up. Currently everything is still under process. If the issue is not resolved, I will have to talk to lawyer. So learn from my mistake please. Be very careful. I hope you have a good trip.
Vibe somewhat "off"
Just returned from Live Aqua with 4 other couple friends. My husband and I travel to Cancun/Riviera Maya at least 5 times a year, this was our second time at this resort. We had not been there since the renovation. The beach and water is some of the prettiest in the Cancun/Riviera Maya location. NO seaweed. Beautiful blue water. The pools are very clean and inviting. Water temperature is not a problem, not too cold or warm. Rooms are beautifully decorated and lots of extra touches are provided. They leave a "beach bag" for use while at the hotel. Brilliant! We had great service in the pool area. These are the servers you interact with the most--if you are a person who likes to lounge by pool or beach. All of the servers were attentive, super friendly and FUN! They kept the drinks/waters coming, picked up the empties, and offered helpful advice on what to order/where to eat at the hotel. We are always happy to tip, as it is evident how hard they work to make sure hotel guests have an effortless vacation. The breakfast buffet was good, not great. No bacon unless you ask for it, super crowded around the omelet station; which is next to a la carte options so difficult to "break" into the line if you don't want an omelet, etc. Big line for the smoothies--but worth the wait! Again, service top notch. Some in our crowd ordered "the Bigfoot" at the Mexican food station and were delighted! It is off the menu so remember to ask for it. Negative: Being a party of 10, we were immediately greeted by our "concierge". She was very sweet and told us the resort does not take reservations for dinner, but because we were a large party she would work hard to make it happen. She said we could get reservations at MB for our second evening. We asked to get a reservation at Siete (where the breakfast buffet is) our first night. She approached me and told me she had secured the reservation at 7 p.m. We got there--no reservation. The restaurant was not crowded, so not a problem, but disconcerting. The second night MB held a table for us. Very pleased. We had asked for a reservation at Hidden Garden for 3rd night. Again, she found me in the resort and told me she had secured a reservation at 7 p.m. We arrived at the restaurant, the manager looked confused and adamantly told us they do NOT accept reservations, and no one had called. Manager said there was a 2 hour wait to get us in. As I had arranged this vacation for all of our friends, I was embarrassed. I spoke with our concierge the next day, she seemed confused and did not take responsibility for her deception. I also mentioned this (and our concierge's name) when we checked out, but again, "confused, as this is a no-reservation policy hotel" was my response. Another "gripe" is all of the beds around the pools, which must be reserved. The ones with blue umbrellas are "free" to guests, except some of them?! It is confusing as to which ones are "free". The up-charge beds take up space--there are literally no chairs around the pool after 9:00 a.m. Most of the chairs get saved by 7:00 a.m. Chairs by the reserve beds are part of the "reserved" as well. It costs 70.00 U.S. dollars to reserve a bed, but as we were a party of 10, getting a bed would spread us out. We ended up reserving one bed and scoured for chairs. All in all, confusing and exhausting trying to get space. We were also confused about the bracelet colors. Some in our group who had never been received the same color as returning guests. Not sure what the difference is--no one mentioned the bracelets aside from checking in. Seems like a cheap marketing ploy. All in all, disappointed that we weren't "wowed". It seems the concierge is camouflage for "time share/up-sale" person. (Which one couple in our group participated in. What was originally to be one hour turned into two and a half.) There was some entertainment at nights-it depended on which night. We enjoyed the "pool party" which included a DJ. When booking this reservation 5 months ago, we also booked another stay with Live Aqua at the end of November, with another couple. We will not be interested in a private "concierge", and we won't care what color of bracelet is put on our wrist.
Amazing Resort, a must stay!
This resort is wonderful! Staff is great, helpful, they do it right. Also typically food at all inclusives is so so, their food was incredible! Felt like I was at a fancy restaurant in Denver. The steaks were amazing! MBs habanero cream soup is a must have!!
Great resort with great staff.
Staff made us feel at home with great service! Restaurant food was excellent! Pool Staff was very attentive in making sure we were taken care of. Resort had plenty of restaurants to choose from as well.
