ROALVYS was great!!! Nice relaxing resort

We got the junior suite with a swim up pool. Everything was beautiful, but because of the pool there was a lot of mosquitoes so take that into consideration. The rooms without a swim up had no bug issues (my friends stayed in a regular suite) Our butler was great. I got really sick on the trip and he went above and beyond to not only get me medicine but to continue to check on me throughout the trip. It was a beautiful resort, but if you’re looking for more upbeat entertainment… Really anything other than a honeymoon/baecation , this resort isn’t for you. We went to eat at restaurants every night. Our favorites were the hibachi and the Mediterranean food. Would definitely go again just with my boyfriend, I wouldn’t bring my friends here next time though. I loved the tranquility.

Long, but it is because Live Aqua is that good.

Live Aqua Punta Cana – A Luxurious Slice of Paradise We recently had the pleasure of staying at Live Aqua Punta Cana, and I can sum up our experience in one word: FANTASTIC. From the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted by the bellhops, we knew we were in for something special. That welcoming energy never wavered and carried through our entire stay. Every moment felt thoughtfully curated for relaxation and luxury. Check-In & VIP Experience We booked a 5-night stay in a Garden View Swim-Out Suite, which included Aqua Club VIP benefits. While the perks were a nice bonus, it was the service and atmosphere that truly made the experience memorable. One of the standout VIP benefits was private check-in in the Aqua Club lounge. Cozy and inviting, the lounge featured its own bar and outdoor patio where we sipped refreshing drinks as staff handled the paperwork. A small but incredibly convenient touch was the rope bracelet that doubles as your room key—no more worrying about carrying or losing a key card! The Room – Swim-Out Serenity Our butler, Yrani, escorted us to our suite, and we were immediately impressed. The room was spotless, well-designed, and luxurious without feeling over-the-top. We were greeted by a well-stocked mini-bar featuring beer, soda, water, Oreos, and Peanut M&Ms—plus a small bottle of Mamajuana, a local Dominican favorite. The king-sized bed faced directly toward the patio, providing a calming view of our private outdoor oasis. The bathroom boasted a double vanity, a private toilet room, and a massive dual rainhead shower. The swim-out patio was our favorite feature. Spacious and private, it had a lounge bed, chairs, sun loungers, and a jet tub. Although it wasn’t heated, it offered a relaxing soak. The swim-out pool was shared, but we rarely saw anyone else using it, making it feel incredibly private and serene. Dining – A Culinary Delight We were pleasantly surprised by the food—impressive quality for an all-inclusive resort. Portions were appropriately sized, the presentation was elegant, and flavors were vibrant. We especially loved dining al fresco in the warm Caribbean air. Menus are accessed via QR codes, but paper copies are available on request. We appreciated having digital menus to preview our options in advance. Buffet & À la Carte (Breakfast) Breakfast was consistently excellent. While VIP guests can order from a special à la carte menu, we often opted for the buffet after discovering it offered most of the same items. Highlights included a made-to-order omelet station, fresh fruit and smoothies, and an impressive pastry and donut wall. We met Salvador here—an exceptional staff member who made our mornings memorable. Wonderpool (Lunch) This became our go-to lunch spot. Nothing beats a juicy burger and fries by the pool, and Wonderpool delivered. The burgers were a bit small—but just right for a midday bite. Here, we met Confesor, whose friendly energy and attention to detail made each visit a pleasure. Seishin (Japanese) Though we skipped the teppanyaki show, the regular menu was a hit. The gyoza in broth and Mongolian beef were packed with flavor. My wife loved her Yakisoba (minus the surprise salmon—bonus for me!). Sospiro (Italian) A standout. We loved it so much we dined here twice. The caprese chicken, creamy alfredo, eggplant roll-ups, and desserts (especially the tiramisu and cannoli) were phenomenal. The antipasto table was a welcome touch before the main course. Chez Rose (French) Although the French restaurant is typically a favorite, it was outshined this time by the Italian option. We enjoyed the French onion soup and steaks (entrecôte and perigueux), but one cut was slightly undercooked. Still tasty, just not a showstopper. ATL (Mexican) Perfect for night one after a long travel day. We enjoyed the plantain patties, tacos, and especially the chips, salsa, and guacamole, which we continued ordering at the beach bar daily. Huzur (Mediterranean) This was our least favorite, though not bad. The shawarma stood out, but the other dishes (Greek salad, stuffed eggplant, sancocho) lacked the wow factor. Cool Fever (Coffee & Gelato) Opening at 6 a.m., this spot was perfect for early risers like us. Specialty coffees and teas were excellent, and the pastry display tempting (though we usually saved room for breakfast). Sadly, we only managed gelato once—next time, we’ll make it a nightly ritual! The Staff – Genuine Hospitality The heart of Live Aqua is its incredible staff. Their warmth and professionalism elevated our experience: Salvador, Linda, Nataly & Luis: Our breakfast crew—especially Salvador—made us feel like VIPs every morning. Benjamin (Beach Service): A true gem. Always attentive and genuinely dedicated to making sure we had everything we needed without lifting a finger. Confesor (Wonderpool): Pure joy! He remembered our orders and greeted us like friends. Super Dario (Seishin): As fun as his name—his energy and humor made dinner even more enjoyable. Yrani & Roalvys (Butlers): Discreet yet attentive. They checked in with us daily, offering tips, schedules, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Their personal touch didn’t go unnoticed. Beach & Amenities Thanks to our VIP status, we had access to a premium section of the beach, complete with palapas, Bali beds, and cushioned loungers. It was peaceful, with plenty of shade and no early-morning chair battles. Security presence was strong but unobtrusive. Vendors were polite and moved on quickly if you declined. The beach was well-maintained, though the water was a bit rough and seaweed more noticeable in the water than on shore. Still, we felt safe and enjoyed long walks in both directions—about half a mile each way. Tips & Notables Bring an insulated cup for beach and pool drinks. A soap-prepped sponge makes cleaning cups easy. Bug spray and itch cream came in handy, especially on the patio. Airport VIP service is worth the splurge—especially if you're short on vacation time. We were off the plane and on the road in 20 minutes (carry-on only). Minor Cons Our room, located in an odd-numbered building, was close to construction for the new Live Aqua resort. While the noise wasn’t overwhelming, it was noticeable at times. No water sports (kayaks, paddleboards) were offered—but given the ocean conditions, it made sense. Final Thoughts Live Aqua Punta Cana delivered a truly relaxing and memorable vacation. The balance of elegant accommodations, quality food, stunning beach, and exceptional service makes this resort stand out. From small thoughtful touches to the warmth of the staff, it felt like a place designed for unwinding and enjoying life. Would we return? Absolutely.

    Wheelchair Friendly

Live Aqua was very wheelchair friendly. I don't need accommodations that are fully ADA complaint because my wheelchair is narrow and I am agile in my transfers. This place met my needs very nicely. Also beautiful location and friendly staff. Super vacation!

    paradise in punta cana

i planned this trip 7 months ago and it was heavenly to have a relaxing vacation in such a beautiful place. the beach was serene and picture perfect. they have plenty of pools and activities if you wish to join in. the staff is very accommodating and my only real hiccup was getting there a few hours before check in and being taken to 3 different rooms. it was confusing and exhausting. they need to ask people if they mind waiting to get a room that is being cleaned rather than saying 'we didn't want you to wait.' the first room was apparently for someone else, the second was unacceptable and finally the third was where i settled. the best restaurants were the japanese hibachi/sushi spot, the ceviche spot, compton street bar/grill and the italian restaurant. the mediterranean restaurant, though pretty and prominent above the large pool, was fly central and brazen black bird central. a disappointment. i had a swim up pool jr. suite and it was glorious. my butler was mostly m.i.a. but when i had a problem, he helped out. again, courteous staff and i would return.

Expected great things by the reviews, it has potential to be exceptional.

Our first visit - The swim up pool was a huge highlight ( i used it everyday) and made the trip, also the friendliness of most of the staff was fabulous with always a warm welcome and a smile even at 6 in the morning. The ladies in cool fever coffee shop were just a delight. The food was great especially Sospiro (Italian) Lasagne to die for with fabulous customer service from Valentin (hope i have spelt that right) and Huzur (glazed beef ribs was amazing). Main dining room for breakfast, we can not fault the staff, so attentive and smiling. Beach guys great fun and always greeted you with a smile and a few laughs. A lovely member of staff from the wonder pool bar close to our swim up brought us Pina colada's when he spotted us in the pool, sorry i did not get his name but he was just a Joy. The staff at the main reception bar area, the minute you sit down come and ask if you want a drink, very attentive and always to hand if you need anything. The housekeeping staff were fabulous with attention to details when visiting, a lovely touch to have slippers placed beside the bed, a glass and bottled water placed beside the bed, robes drapes perfectly over the bed with flowers laid on the bed, and tucked in the towels. We always looked forward to arriving back to the apartment on an evening to see if our room was spectacular, not always every night but much appreciated when it was. A little note left on leaving to thank them for their lovely touches. It was not lost on us. There is some building work as discussed on other reviews however this did not cause any interruption on our visit or detract from the well presented gardens and pools. We were allocated 2 butlers, the lovely Yrani who always checked on us daily when on shift no matter where we were on the resort to ensure everything was good and to see if we needed anything. We did not ask for much however when different pillows suggested i jumped at my normal goose down and Yrani ensured these were placed. Nothing appeared too much for Yrani and it came across Yrani wanted us to have a great experience. And now for the one negative..... We also had a second butler assigned which was Roy and this is where the resort then got it's only negative points. We only saw Roy on 3 occasions to actually talk to, on arrival who showed us to our room, 2 days later when things fell apart and when Yrani visited with Roy as on 2 occasions our wrist band key had been deactivated (No reasons given). Roy appeared day 2 rather downhearted, we figured he was having a bad day as Roy advised had 14 people to tend to and asked if we felt this was a lot for him, although we sympathised as he appeared quite reserved and pre-occupied it made us feel we should not be taking up his time, from this moment things took a downward turn. Roy never approached us when out and about around the resort and even turned around to walk in the opposite way on one occasion when walking towards us (i have no idea what we had possibly said or done). Roy was always head down on his phone and when trying to interact would always be typing on his phone, i do feel if you are talking to one guest you are assigned at least give them that few minutes to listen and talk to them rather than feeling we were of no importance. We did raise this with Yrani who advised Roy was fine that she knew of. We requested fresh towels as no housekeeping had attended (which was not a problem) but requested some more towels as needed them for the shower that night. It appeared Roy felt that we were complaining that out apartment had not been cleaned even though we informed Roy we did not need them to do anything but provide some clean towels and remove the room service pots from the previous evening. Housekeepers attended a few hours later and proceeded to clean the room, we did advised just required towels and pots removed. Yrani felt this was just a misunderstanding. We asked about medical support onsite after concerns regarding partner's foot turning purple after several Mosquitos bites through the night which looked infected, Roy sent a message over an hour later to advise there was but no information as to where about on the resort. We began feeling Roy really did not welcome interaction from us so asked nothing more from then on until attending with Yrani when our key was deactivated. Roy was very different around Yrani and offered to send a golf cart at a specific time the next day for our luggage on leaving, we initially declined as we had seen Roy approach 2 other couples next to us on the beach that morning who were due to leave the same day as us , Roy organising the luggage collection and then turned away and did not attempt to do the same for us, however Roy insisted so we accepted. We waited the next day at the time specified by Roy but no one turned up which resulted us rushing through the resort dragging our cases only just making our transfer bus. We arrived been informed we were VIP and would have support on hand for anything required, unfortunately this was not the case and it spoilt our experience during our stay and when leaving which is such a shame as this experience shaped our stay and took away from what could of been an exceptional stay. Would i return again?, i would love to say yes however if i did it would have to be with the a different Butler so i can experience what i saw others experience with their butlers, we were not asking anyone to put our towels on the sun beds or escort us to the restaurant as witnessed daily and only asked for support when absolutely necessary. I saw some great butlers sitting and talking to their guests unfortunately this was not what we experienced with Roy. It really is a beautiful resort but a little work (communication training required) on how to treat all guests not just some would of been an exceptional review.
