Great time at legends!
I recently visited Negril Jamaica and stayed at the legends hotel on the beautiful 7 mile beach. Located in the heart of the beach zone legends Hotel is next to all of the great clubs ,nightlife and music in the area. The beach is amazing and the water is gorgeous. Family owned business hotel legend has a great vibe with one side jungle other side beach . The staff is absolutely amazing making you feel like family. Kind , helpful , funny everyone on staff is great. Even one of the owners personally introduced himself and made sure our time on vacation was great. I’ll definitely be coming back soon. Big thanks to all the ladies on staff for being awesomely amazing... you guys are great. ❤️ Aaron sifflet
Tropical oldie worldly friendly place
Legends beach hotel, Negril, Is a lovely little place on the beach, giving you the option to choose between the beach and the West End cliffs, each morning by a free shuttle transfer, you can get access to the facilities that are at the sister property, Samsara Cliff Resort & Spa, which is about 4 miles away, the driver goes too fast, and the surface of the road is not particularly great, so hold on to your seat. At Legends, the front desk receptionist Jennifer is exceptional and very helpful, although the reception area itself is only small, Wi-Fi is free and is available throughout. The ambiance on your patio in front of your room is naturally great, and a convenient area for smoking is provided. The hotel restaurant staff provides nice friendly service and they do a wonderful job. The food is good with a choice of varied selection. I had a plated breakfast, which was shared with some common flies on the table, facing the beach this made me eat hurriedly, I am thinking if there are flies around, then something is not as clean as it should be. The bedrooms were clean but dated, even after the housekeeping had finish cleaning, a couple of mosquitoes still loitered in the room, so an insect repellent would be good to take because it’s guaranteed that at some point during your stay, you will find them buzzing around. The bedroom furniture could also do with been replaced, they are old and uninspiring. Along with the colours that the room is painted in, white or cream would be a more appropriate choice, but certainly not yellow. The bathroom and shower curtains also need attention, the lights in the rooms are quite low depressing, really needs to have brighter bulbs. Although the property is old, the ground staff do amazing work in taking care of the property. Cleaning the pool and sweeping away all the wet leaves each day. The housekeeping staffs were amiable and extremely courteous. Each morning you get a lovely warm greeting with a smile. Legends beach hotel, has a lovely view on the beach, and a nice place to sunbathe if you can get up early enough to get a deck chair, The hotel does not have a gym or a spa but has a large swimming pool which is not too deep to swim in, the pool is located over across the main road from the reception office, I found the pool discreetly tuck away, which made my stay even more pleasant, not having a huge amount of people splashing and making noise. The Legends beach hotel is set in a prime location on Seven Mile Beach, surrounded by several small shops and is adjacent to Time square where there are several over price boutique shops located, all selling similar items to each other. On a whole Legends Beach Resort is a genuinely warm, welcoming, Negril, tropical oldie worldly friendly place to be, with plenty of entertainment around, including a few Italian and Jamaican restaurants and bars, but the ocean view is priceless.
Wonderful Staff; I would return just for them!
Honest review of the facilities: no problems with getting enough hot water for showers. very close to the beach but not enough loungers; beach area is quite small but it's on the 7 mile beach; so we just walked the beach. food was just so so. Breakfasts were good. Other meals just so so but we found enough to eat; besides, you should go out and check out thel local eateries. the bed was ridiculously hard; this is really the most negative comment I can leave is about the bed. drinks: good enough! The place is so close to everything including Bourbon Beach, Drifters, etc. we stayed on the beachside; cheaper to stay on the garden side and there is security to stop the traffic. rooms were clean. About the staff: WONDERFUL, FRIENDLY, FUN we hung out at the bar because of the staff. a huge shout out to all of them: Jennifer, Leonie, Melissa, Kerry Ann, Latoy, Caren, and not to forget Kenrick! I hope I didn't miss anyone. We really enjoyed dancing, twerking/wining, laughing with them. They make this place. We would return just for the staff (not the bed LOL!). They make this resort what it is. I hope management recognizes their great effort and wonderful service!
An otherwise excellent vacation marred by uncaring management, owners and rude frontline staff. Stay elsewhere!
It’s not ALL BAD Great location, perfect beach/weather. Mostly friendly staff. Cleaning, maintenance, room staff and crossing guard were great! Nothing prevents us from enjoying our vacations but potential visitors need to be warned! The “resort” is worn with broken tiles/razor sharp edges on stairs. Wifi, water, A/C kept going out. Some staff/management was fine by email but after arrival was rude, insulting & standoffish in person. Unwilling/unable to make good on previous offers. If any of my staff EVER spoke to our customers the way we were spoken to they would be fired, on the spot, for cause! There weren’t enough umbrellas or beach chairs. People came down early to “claim them” not returning till much later. RUDE! The food, buffet style was mediocre, unexciting, repetitive and uninspired. Some chose the meal plan & were disappointed. The rest were glad we had not & had better meals at other restaurants. Meals seemed pricey at $18 USD for the dinner I asked about. Drinks were small, bar service slow and they had issues making change. How can you run a bar/restaurant and not be able to make change? Despite the many little issues, that all add up and tarnish the experience, we had a great time! Jamaica is amazing with lots to explore so “LEAVE THE RESORT!” Be choosy about where you stay. We’ve stayed at many hotels and resorts in Negril and Jamaica/other countries and this hotel simply does not stack up. There are much better places nearby. It’s a “Legend in its own mind!”
Good hotel for the price. Not a great experience from the staff.
Excellent location and great price.... for what you get. The rooms are nice but no coffee maker and the mattress was very firm (which some of you might like). You can’t sit on the balcony chairs and see anything. The room would benefit from a bar height table and chairs. Contrary to other’s reviews here, the only real downers were the restaurant and staff. The front desk and cleaning staff were wonderful. Very friendly and good at their jobs. The restaurant food is good, but the staff is not. Half of them did their jobs adequately with a smile. Most of the time I felt like I was a major inconvenience to the other half. I don’t think it had anything to do with us or our behavior because it started the first moment we ordered at the bar and the staff was at least twice as friendly at EVERY other bar and restaurant we went to. No joke no exaggeration. Glad we didn’t do all-inclusive. It’s a shame because otherwise this hotel was excellent for the price.
