Great place to stay in Huatulco
We enjoyed all amenities, food and activities provided by the hotel. The service is excellent, the food is delicious and varied, they only need to include more vegetarian options in their restaurants.
Not to international travelers standard & terrible food
If you are coming from abroad, I recommend you stay elsewhere. even $60 more a night could get you much better food and a more water accessible resort. Main disappointments: 1) food is terrible— Only worth eating at the Bellavista buffet. We tried the Mexican and Solarium restaurant (and pool buffet), both had pretty bad a la cart food— and we ate with friends so pretty much saw all the items you could order and none were good. Dessert tasted like the fridge. Also, you cannot take food to the beach or pool. 2) service is subpar. Waited over 30+min for transport from room to lobby with bags— called three times, had 7 trucks pass us without space. The resort is not walkable. Also had to call for house keeping to return a second time at 10pm to clean up a broken bottle as the first maid had left visible shattered glass still all over the floor, and not mopped while we were out. At check in they do not explain that you have to make reservations for dinner, and at check out they could have cared less about the bad expletives we had. 3) facilities are ok— but not worth the $180/night we were paying. AC doesn’t get the room below 70F. You have to take a little truck ride to the beach or pool. Resort is not walkable in any fashion. The pool has music blasting like a disco, very hard to relax there. Mosquitos at dinner if an outside restaurant. We liked the ocean view from our room in estrellas, but we just got lucky. Not all rooms have those views. The day we enjoyed the most was at the beach in front of the Mexican restaurant. Tipped the waiter at the beginning of the day and he kept the drinks coming and took good care of us with beers, margaritas, and michelladas abundantly. If you’re staying here, do this for sure!
The resort had very good food. The room was very nice, premium suite. If you don’t mind a lot of cement steps and using trolleys this is a very nice resort. It is very hard to get a lounger on the beach unless you get up very early. The pool area is wonderful and has very good service.
Would not recommend or return
(1)I was very dissatisfied that my 13 year old daughter couldn’t workout at the gym with me even though I agreed on being fully responsible if anything happened. (2)They turned off all the lights off completely at the bar without any notice which was very rude. (3) They did not permit me to take my small speaker around the beach area to listen to music.
Service, food and attention to be improved
The amount of money is related to the expectations you might have. At hotel Las Brisas my expectations were not met at all. Bad attention from personell, bad food, drinks were not cold and a lot of elements were not in service. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
