JAN 2020 VISIT
Enjoyed Las Brisas for the 2nd time with my bestfriend. The food was OK, did end up with a few trips to the bathroom. The staff at Las Brisas are amazing, so accommodating. Our room was ground beach club deluxe garden view which smelled musty and had lots of dead bugs everywhere. We requested upgraded and were provided one immediately. Recommend beach club suite for anyone staying here! We had options for beaches, restaurants, pool side or chillin on our balcony. They have stand up paddle boarding, sail boats, kayaks available to use. Can rent a seadoo $50 USD for half hour. We enjoyed our time in Huatulco so much we decided to stay another week and go explore Oaxaca. We are still in Puerto Escondido which is a total different vibe from resort life! Thank you for everything Las Brisas.
Huatulco January 2020
Loved this place. Huatulco is lovely your staff are amazing. Room was al dated but was very comfortable. We missed not having a balcony but the next room upgrade was more than we were willing to pay as what they had left available was a few room classes above what we had. The food was good but any buffet gets old after 5+ days. The a la carte restaurants we ok. Nothing spectacular and very casual. If you don't like walking this isn't the place for you. Many stairs and paths. We loved it. Beautiful beaches and people.
We stayed for a week in the premium Las Brisas Beach Club Suite. Pros: Beautiful view of the Bay. Room cleaned daily and minibar restocked. Well maintained, very spread out property with lovely walkway along the beach. Excellent shuttle service throughout the property if you didn’t want to walk. Staff very friendly throughout the resort. Lovely swimming and snorkelling. Prompt drink service on beach. Cons: The extra money that we paid for the Las Brisas Beach Club was not worth it. The Brisas Beach Club offers a continental breakfast - the one time we went, the fruit was almost gone. The coffee is made by the guest with a Nespresso - no brewed coffee. Not impressed. Brisas Beach Club Cocktail hour is offered for two hours - from 5 to 7. Location offers practically no view, but excellent service. Again, the appetizers were gone when we arrived. There is no exclusive check-in for the Premium guests, although check-in was efficient. Food is very mediocre in all the restaurants. We ate at the buffet on our last night and my husband became ill from something he ate. A most unpleasant flight home the next day. We have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts and, based on the great reviews, were really looking forward to Las Brisas. We were very disappointed and will not return or recommend. The rave reviews seem to be ‘collected by the hotel”.....? Are they honest - I don’t know, but they certainly don’t describe the hotel that I stayed at.
Resort is beautifully situated, 3 awesome beaches, excellent swimming. Lots of stairs, as we knew going in. After 1 day you will know your limitations as to how many times you walk to your room. When we didn't feel like walking, the carts only took a minute or two to come by and pick us up. Staff is excellent, very hard working, and very attentive and friendly. Lots of different buffet choices, we never went hungry. Only went to 2 of the al a carte restaurants but they were nice for a change of pace. Hot and humid, exactly what we wanted, 33 degrees or more each day between Jan 7 and 14. The beach, swimming and snorkeling were all very good as well. Many fellow Canadians to chat with about the cold weather at home. Definitely will be going back.
Great Place to Chill and Snorkel, Careful with the Buffet
On our fourth trip to Mexico, we needed a chill holiday where we did not have to be responsible for anything and decided it was time to try an all-inclusive. After much humming and hawing and review reading we settled on Huatulco and selected Las Brisas. We were not disappointed, even though we did get sick for the first time in Mexico. With that caution, I would highly recommend this resort. The location is primo, the vibe wonderful and chill, and the care and welcoming of the staff just terrific. They serve good booze, some wine is ok, and the food especially in the a la cartes, is really great. There are no games with coupons and overinflated prices where you are then offered a “discount”. We needed cash for tips (not expected but greatly appreciated and really helpful to the locals who do not make a lot) and for our trips into town. But that is really it. If you want a place to really relax, this is it. If you want to take part in lots of activities, this is also it. We found a happy medium and came home last night well rested. I've added a very detailed review on the detail page for the resort.
