Everything was lovely... from the pools to the staff.. friendly staff and many activities to do.. they have pool activities and karaoke... plan to come back! They have beautiful beach views and the pool is right on the beach. Fun to go relax and have some drinks.
My husband and I had an enjoyable vacation here. The food was good. The housekeeping was very good. Nice and friendly people. We did have to ask for water once but they brought it to us right away. Dulce was very friendly and nice. We don't drink but they made some non alcoholic drinks for us. The really enjoyed the pool. We didn't do any night time activities because of our are but it looked like others were enjoying the day and night activities.
This hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel. This could not be further from the truth. I understand that star ratings differ somewhat from Mexico to the U.S.A Lets start with the rooms themselves. We stayed in room #378. The entrance doors to this rooms are old, creaky, and just need to be replaced. The door lock is an antiquated old slide in key that needs to be made outside of the facility. Crazy right. The reason I say this, is because we lost this key and we were charged $10 dollars for a replacement key. It's 2019 people. Please.... The beds... They are the hardest beds I have ever slept on. Thank god I was drinking and not feeling the pain of this old hard beds.. The bathroom had this huge tub that when taking a shower the whole floor of the bathroom would get soaked. Who thought of this design? The bathrooms were bad.. The pool, terrible. The restaurants were barely 3 star quality. My family and I were very dissapointed in this property. There is NO way that it should claim to be a 4 star Hotel. It barely reaches 2.5 stars. Don't stay here, you will be dissapointed if you think you are getting a 4 star hotel.
The Hotel Krystal Experience
My friends and I visited this resort for the past week and had an amazing experience. Having read some of the reviews before visiting this resort we were a bit confused about what we were getting into but in no time those doubts were alleviated. Having been to Mexico 5 times prior and to many all-inclusive resorts, this one will definitely be one of my most memorable experiences. The poor reviews for this resort are likely higher maintenance people not looking for an authentic Mexican experience, which is okay and not what we expected, but we were very happy that we got. What we loved about this resort was particularly the staff like Marlen, Abraham, Juan, Joshua and Cesar who were waiters we had multiple times and were nothing less then fantastic (if you are a young group of travelers looking for a great time and fun-loving waiters definitely sit with Marlen and Abraham, they provided us nothing but joy and laughs this entire trip!). Having one person in our entourage speak some Spanish came in very handy at this resort as the majority of the staff speak broken English but they work very hard to understand you and help however they can. The pools and beach were phenomenal, and the resort was very well kept the entire 8 days we were there. If you are looking for a good little getaway and to have some fun I would highly recommend this resort. The bartenders and staff made sure to keep drinks in hand and smiles on our faces, which is all we could ask for during our vacation. Food was authentic and great as long as you don’t have too many dietary restrictions and you are open to trying new things with flavor you will enjoy it! The Japanese and Italian a la Cartes also provided some of the best food! Our rooms were absolutely phenomenal, equipped with a microwave, fridge and little kitchen space. The bathrooms, specifically the showers were amazing. Overall it is a great resort that I would go back to and highly recommend for easy going people looking for a fun time!
Wonderful service & better than I thought
I booked Krystal at the last minute through RCI when our other accommodation plans fell through. I was only able to get us a studio suite for my husband and I, our toddler and my mother. I emailed them and the hotel said they’re so their best to upgrade us. Upon arrival they upgraded us to a full two bedroom suite and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine (it was pretty cheep, but the gesture was nice). The staff was very accommodating and nice. Even one of the tour agents had her brother drive us to the zoo. The hotel was surprisingly lovely. It was very clean, and although it needed some maintenance / renovations, it was all very well kept. The pools and beach were excellent. My only complaint was that the wifi was very poor (I had to go outside to get a single). But it forced me to log off and relax. All in all a very good experience.
