Customer Ratings & Reviews

I went back and forth between poor and average and settled on average because toward the end we found ONE great bartender and ONE great waiter. A recent reviewer wrote something similar where there were different rules for different people. We were turned away from the Grill twice because of dress code while there were clearly others inside who were also wearing flipflops and shorts. We were also turned away from the buffet for the same reason a few days but not not every time so who knows what that was about. The people who spoke Spanish didn't have to follow these rules and it was painfully clear that this was just an unspoken rule. I wish I could remember the bartenders name. He was the only one who actually put alcohol in our drinks and was NICE even though there was still a language barrier. Our favorite waiter at the buffet was Juan he was the SWEETEST most thoughtful guy. He remembered our drinks of choice and once brought us dessert without asking and always checked on us, made sure our drinks were full, and food tasted good. We ended up leaving him the rest of our peso's because even though we had an entire day left he was the only one who treated us well. He spoke very very little English but kindness doesn't need words, he was always smiling and looking for us when we came in. He's why I didn't rate this place poor. If you don't speak Spanish go somewhere else and if it's too late find Juan at the buffet otherwise you're screwed. OH last thing, the events and activities were non existent. The end.
Don't be fooled, a lot of false advertising and racism. Also, no restaurants open for lunch.
I hate negative reviews but the management here left me no choice. I am not only going to write the problems, I will offer easy solutions as well. We paid for ocean view rooms and were given a room that faces the ocean but had a concrete barrier that blocks the view, we called the front desk and they upgraded us to a room on a higher floor with the same concrete barrier. We complained again and they finally go it right. See pictures below. Solution: Don't mark the rooms with barriers as ocean view, there was only about 12 of them. Easy fix. False advertising: They advertise that they have 4 restaurants but one is only open on Mondays and another one is for members only, so they really only have 2 restaurants both of which are closed from 12-2 pm. Yup, their restaurants are closed at LUNCHTIME. Solution: Don't close your restaurants at LUNCHTIME. Easy right? Racism? You be the judge. We went to "The Grill", which is the only restaurant besides the buffet and they told us we couldn't go in with shorts or slippers, so all 9 of us went upstairs and changed and came back. Once we were seated, we noticed they let every one speaking Spanish in with shorts and slippers. When I asked the waiter what was going on his reply was " I know I'm sorry". I couldn't believe it. See pictures below. Horrible service, no heart: The next morning my wife and kids were downstairs at the pool when the kids got hungry. They put on outfits they bought from the retailers by the pool and walked over. One of the managers, a women, told them they could not go in with their bating suits, my kids are 5 and 7. They were hungry and this lady wouldn't let them get food. My 7 year old approached a chef from the members only restaurant to ask if they could eat there, he had a heart and walked over and spoke with my wife. Another manager came by and took my kids to get food from the buffet, the same lady manager stopped them and argued that they could not go and get food from the buffet. After this nice gentlemen was done arguing with her, my kids were allowed to go get a couple of plates. I mean are you Fing kidding me? I pay for all inclusive vacation and this is how you treat me kids? Never again will I step close to this place and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. Solution: Fire the managers and retrain all the staff. That's not how you treat people.
The first room we were in needs some upgrades (sliding doors need to replaced, etc.). We were told we're getting a view but we see the buffet restaurant's roof and trees. The patio is old and dirty. The room we transferred to however is much newer with better views. The problem is, I lost my gold pair of earrings I kept inside my laptop pocket. I've been to different AMresorts and this is the first time I lost something. It's disappointing..
Worst Service Ever
Room service and restaurant was atrocious. Sometimes you would call and they just would flat out not come. The lines for food were through the door and around the corner. No entertainment at the pools
I've been to so many different places in Mexico and I can absolutely say this one captured my heart. Right when I got to the hotel they welcomed me with open arms. The staff showed my family and I around and asked us if we wanted anything to drink or eat. They put a smile on my face everyday. The food services and hotel services were pretty good. The pool and ocean were clean, clear and good temperature. I really enjoyed how there were three different pools from kids pool, family pool and adult pool. Looking around the area everyone had a smile on there faces every second of the day. Another thing that stood out to me were the entertainment staffs. The two workers that I loved were Angel and Ismael. They made my week filled with laugher, smiles, giggles and someone I can always count on to get the crowd going. They were both so respectful and had such a great positive attitude. Every time I saw them they had a great smile. Both of them were so interacting with the kids and parents. They have taught me to play blackjack, water polo, volleyball, archery and many more games. They both were so sweet to me and I could not thank them enough for everything when I went. They both should get credit for being a great worker. They both helped me embrace myself. I danced in front of so many people, they taught me how to dance, I did karaoke and I tried new things because of them. They let me open up and be who I am. I'm hoping I can come back one day because that place I will always love forever. One entertainment that I dislike was Abizai. He was very disrespectful to me, he yelled at me and he grabbed me without asking and kissed me on my cheek. I would never want to see him or have him touch me like that again. That was very rude of him but If I were you I would try this place out. its good for all ages. They also have kids daycare if you want to have a day alone. Overall everything was amazing.
