e went for a wedding. It was a beautiful setting. The flowers were lovely but not what the bride ordered. The photographer was in the way of everyones view so we could not actually see the majority of the ceremony. The cake was never delivered to the restaurant like they were told. The staff tried to make a little cake for them but it was not the same. The cake was delivered to the bride and groom but not until days later. We had a nice room but some people in our group had issues with thier rooms. My parents had a leak in thier bathroom and it took my mom almost falling for them to fix it after 4 days of complaining. The italian resturant had the best food. Thank goodness for burgers and the omlette bar as I did not care for much of the other food. Room service took a long time. One night we ordered we did not get all our food, they tried to gives us wings instead that they had. I was told the missing food be delivered in 10 min. It never showed up. Another night I called room service for over 30 min. There was no answer or if it was picked up the call was disconnected. I had to go to the front desk and place my order. When it arrived it was wrong. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. The infinity pool was closed for a private function for an entire day which made the other pool area very crowded. The birds were insane. Something needs to be done about them! Maybe some fake owls around the pools and restaurants would be helpful. The birds would steal food right off your plate. Many chairs had bird poop on them. They pooped in the pools all the time and several people we were with were pooped on. My daughter was pooped on after we finished breakfast on our last day. Thank goodness she still had time to shower before we left.
My husband and I spent the week of May 12th through 19th at Reflect Krystal Grand in Nuevo Vallarta. We had a great time! It has a wonderful beach, with great sand and absolutely no seaweed or rocks. So we had fun playing in the waves and walking the beach! The pools were all nice, and there were never any children in the adult pool when we were there. However, they do need to post the pool rules on a sign by the pools. You can have drinks in the infinity pool, but not in the adult pool. Also, we had brought floats which we used most of the week in the adult pool, (which was almost empty), but at the end of the week we were told that they were not allowed. There were lots of small children while we were there, but we found areas where we could be away from the children if we wanted to. They had lots of chairs, but they could use more umbrellas for shade. We had a wonderful Ocean Front room with a great balcony that included a hot tub. Very nice for watching the sunsets. Our suite was kept quite clean and we had no problem with daily housekeeping services. The buffet food was always hot when we were there, but we did always go early so maybe that was why. I am a vegetarian and although most of the dishes contained meat, I didn't have much problem. There were always lots of vegetable dishes, salads, fruits and cheese. We liked having the omelet station and the Mimosa and Bloody Mary area. We went to the Italian restaurant, the Japanese restaurant and the Grill. We had excellent food and service at all three and they all made me a special vegetarian dish with a smile. Our very best server was Jacqueline at the grill. What a wonderful and happy attitude! At least 90% of the guests the week we were there, were Spanish-speaking families with small children. We did meet several other couples from the US. Most of the staff we encountered spoke English. As others have mentioned, the overall service of staff was excellent! Everyone was very, very friendly and helpful.
Not a 6 apple resort
We recently returned from a week at the Reflect Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta. This resort is rated 6 apples per Apple Vacations & it has the potential to be a 6 apple, but isn't there yet. The customer service is good, it is obvious this is an area they have worked on. When passing any staff members you are always greeted with a smile. We found that there is a language barrier here, but were able to communicate most of our needs. The daily Sundial is in all Spanish which does not help those that don't speak Spanish. The evening shows were all in Spanish & geared towards children mostly. There are birds all over the pool area & buffet area. These birds watch very closely & once they spot a plate unattended they quickly dive in. They also fly over the pool & relieve themselves anywhere & everywhere. Guests do tend to feed these birds & the resort really needs to post a sign discouraging guests from doing this. I saw birds on tables picking at plates & the staff would wave them away but did not tell the guests that their plates had a bird eating from their plate upon their return. The food at the buffet was fair, never hot & most of the time warm to room temperature. The staff really needs to tend to the empty chafing dishes as they were empty alot. The omlette station at breakfast was great. Housekeeping was inconsistent, there were times our towels were not replenished & times turn down service was not done.
Save your money and go elsewhere!
We were a group of 19 Canadians that stayed at the Reflect Krystal Nuevo Vallarta for a wedding from May 18-25, 2019. We brought your company at least $30K CDN and were treated like 2nd class citizens. I feel the need to mention that we are NOT disrespectful or rowdy guests. The resort was FULL of locals and most did not even smile when we smiled at them. The bride and groom had the worst room of all of us. After many complaints, the hotel finally moved them to an oceanfront room, which is where they should have been placed to begin with as I am sure the hotel was not at all full. Further, most, if not all, of their wedding arrangements were messed up, from the flowers to the cake delay, etc. The really unfortunate part is that they had booked an extra week to honeymoon and they are still there. The entire hotel is filthy, the staff never swept or mopped the hallways or the stairs the entire time we were there. Most of the cups and glasses are chipped and a good portion of them and cutlery are still dirty. We purchased an oceanfront room and it was disgustingly dirty, paint peeling and seagull droppings everywhere on the balcony. In all of our travels, I have never seen so many seagulls at a resort, it made it next to impossible to stay at the infinity pool. You need to find a way to get rid of them. They poop on people, drop fish and crabs in the pools, and steal the food right off of your plate. We then moved to the adult pool only to find out we could not play frisbee or even hold our drinks in the water, yet the locals seemed to be allowed to do what they liked. When we expressed this concern to pool security, he did not understand English. In my opinion, the infinity pool should be the adult pool and the other pools should be for family. That way they can be all together and the adults can enjoy music, play games and have the pool bar. There is a main walkway through the middle of the grounds from the main building to the ocean that needs to be widened for safety reasons. Someone is going to fall in the water and hurt themselves. There were very few entertainment staff and the ones that were there were awful. The evening entertainment is simply laughable. The deal breaker? THERE IS NO BACON ANYWHERE and the food was AWFUL! If it was passable, it was cold. The only exception was the Asian restaurant. The food was great and Jacquie our server was exceptional. We heard from our group that room service took forever to bring food, if they bothered to show up at all.
Francisca did an excellent job waiting on us at the Italian restaurant at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta. Also, the food was great and the view of the ocean is amazing. I would highly recommend dining at this establishment.
