Would Give More Than 5 Stars If I Could
Wow. We absolutely LOVED our stay here and it was also one of the best resort experiences I've had. Ever. We originally booked a one-bedroom villa for our 6 night stay for our honeymoon and upon check-in were told we had been upgraded to a two-bedroom villa! It was huge and was an absolute joy to stay in. The room did not get a thorough cleaning every single day (I think it was every third day), but we always got fresh towels and the trash taken out every day. And really, that was all we needed. There was so much we loved about our stay, but here are some of the highlights: -The pool areas were wonderful. We never had any issues finding a seat, at any time of day and there is plenty of options including hot tubs scattered throughout the grounds and an adults-only tranquility pool (even though there were some children in the main pool, there weren't many and we didn't find them bothersome at all) -The on-site Holoholo Grill was very good. We ate there the first night and used our complimentary drink cards we received upon check-in. The card is for their specific "Tradewinds" drink, which we both very much enjoyed -Every employee we encountered from the front desk to the cleaning service and towel shack was extremely friendly. Seriously, each one of them always had a smile -We enjoyed the location. Close to a few different shopping centers (we were able to walk to at least one) and not too far from the airport, groceries, etc. But still feels secluded and private -Parking was fine. It was a little crowded the first day we checked in, but other than that, we never had issues finding a spot We had an amazing time in Kauai and would absolutely stay here again should we return in the future.
Better than you think
This is a 4 star resort that operates close to 5 stars. The staff were amazing, rooms were cleaned daily (not always the case), all requests were dealt with very quickly and effectively, and amenities are ample: Tues/Thurs/Sun morning yoga; daily coffee; Friday evening s’mores; hot tubs, pools and peakaboo sunset views. Further, if you are an adult couple you will want to stay in Building 7 which is right on the edge of the adult private pool and hot tub. No one is ever there... ;)
This was our first time staying here. Really enjoyed the rooms but was a little disappointed in the ocean view. The Holoholo restaurant was great. Had breakfast there every morning. Would certainly stay there again.
False advertising and no care
After conducting weeks of research for our girls trip to Kauai, we decided on Koloa Landing due to their advertising of the 24 hour and heated pools on the Marriott Bonvoy site. That was obviously a huge selling point for us and decided it’s worth to pay extra for that experience. After checking in, we were told by he front desk agent Kiana that there was no such thing. We showed her the ad that was on the Marriott Bonvoy site and she was shocked. She sent a copy of the ad to her management which then had Chris Anderson, the Director of Operations call our room the next morning to apologize and offer us late check out to make up for it. We tried to explain to him that we loved the property but were quite disappointed that we were misled. Mind you, these two bedroom villas are not that cheap. He then offered to cancel our stay for free and suggested we go find another hotel because he wanted us to be happy. My friends and I have never heard such a thing for as long as we’ve been in the hospitality industry, especially a 4 start hotel. I am a platinum elite member of Marriott and was just shocked but mostly disappointed for the lack of customer service and care. After all, it wasn’t our fault Marriott couldn’t catch their false advertising of their amenities at Koloa Landing. We thought it would be a hassle to find another hotel so we just sadly sucked it up and tried our best to enjoy the rest of the trip at Koloa Landing. We most likely will not stay at Koloa Landing again and overall was turned off by how Chris Anderson (Dir of Operations) handled the situation.
Gorgeous and Accommodating
This is the best resort I have visited. Rooms have exactly what you need. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Grounds are impeccable. This is not ocean front but there are nice views of the ocean from many locations. The pool area is great for families or couples. Hotel offers many services and amenities that help make a Hawaiian vacation special. Would definitely stay again.
