J110 - More renovation needed
This unit is advertised as fully renovated but was not. It does have new flooring in studio area but kitchen and bathroom floor looks like the original or at least from a previous era. The ceiling fans are nice and the bathroom vanity/sink are new. The bathtub is very old and worn. There have been lots water damage to the fixtures and baseboards. The kitchen is tiny with no counter space to work from, so if you plan to cook, like we do, this is not the best place. The windows and sliding glass doors are all old and difficult to open and close. The curtains are all stained from moisture on the outside. The bed was comfortable with the addition of the topper but definitely the mattress is broken down. We rented 4 units for this trip and they were all in various states of condition from very nice being actually fully renovated to not so much (like this one). All cost the same per week, so I guess it depends when you travel on how lucky you will be with your accommodations. I've added photos to show why I cannot agree with the fully renovated description.
Almost perfect for our needs
We stayed in unit B206. The management of the complex was good, mostly very responsive. Our unit has most of our needs and wants. The kitchen was stocked well but some things were lacking. (We has to buy a pitcher but there were tons of baking supplies—who spends their vacation in Maui baking?!?). The layout of the unit left much to be desired but we worked around it. The washer dryer was tiny!!! I could often hear traffic from the second bedroom. I don’t think any units are on the beach. It is a nice, quiet complex with great pools and easy access to the beach. We would stay here again and feel we got good value for the price.
Birthday & Family Vacation
The Maui Eldorado is a great place to stay. The staff are more than willing to go the extra mile for you. The concierge is Awesome! We rented one of the corner suites, 2 bedrooms & 2 baths. The 2nd bedroom has a bi-fold retractable wall section that opens to the living room area, revealing some beautiful views of the ocean through an entire wall of glass sliding doors, giving you the feeling of a much larger open & spacious room. You can relax and enjoy time with family/friends & watch the sunrise on a comfortable size "L" shaped lanai/porch. Our vacation was at the beginning of March, which I believe was at the end of the migration of the whales. We witnessed several whales jumping & playing in the distance. We stayed in a corner suite, second floor facing east, this has decent view, however, you will need to climb up stairs to get to any of the second floor rooms. We had no problem with this, but if you can't walk up stairs, I would suggest the corner suites on the east side bottom floor. The suite had a stacked washer and dryer and a large kitchen fully stocked with dishes, silverware, cups, plates, pots & pans, along with some small appliances, such as a coffee pot, etc... It was clean and comfortably accommodated 3 couples. . The swimming pool, hot tub, gas BBQ grills and gaming areas are located above the parking garage, which also had a wonderful view. There are 4 BBQ grills and a fitness center near the pool. The building we stayed at, had 2 common area grills accessible within 100 feet. Our check in was easy & had great available assistance by the staff. On the second day you are there, you will be invited to the front lobby for an orientation. I would highly suggest attending this if you plan on doing any of the activities on the island during your stay. Group packages and seasonal events are available for purchase at a discounted rate. It was very informative on a personal level, explaining the different tours available & targeting your interests. We booked a dive, s'nuba dive, aquarium trip, helicopter tour & a luau dinner. It was a great experience!. I recommend Maui Eldorado for the price, great value!!! We will be back to visit this wonderful part of the world... Mahalo!
Saving the best for last
The Eldorado is a great hotel with incredibly spacious and uniquely designed apartments. We had a gorgeous view from our balcony, capturing the sunset each day, and with an unobstructed view straight to the ocean. The golf course was key to this as you look out on to the perfectly manicured lawns towards the last remaining beach Cabana in Hawaii and the beautiful beach itself. This meant a short stroll to the waters edge or a quick friendly ride in the golf buggy. Highly recommend- would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The Maui Eldorado is a wonderful resort with a great concierge! We rented a studio condo to which there were many stairs and some inclines, rough for those out of shape folks. The unit had a washer and dryer and kitchen. It was clean and very comfortable. A nice view from the patio (1st pic) The pool and hot tub is located above the parking garage and also had a wonderful view (2nd pic). There are 4 BBQ grills and a fitness center near the pool as well. The day after your arrival you are invited to the front lobby for an orientation of sorts with Aloha Concierge where activities are available for purchase at a discounted rate. Kai was great in explaining the different tours available. We booked a dive, aquarium, a luau and dinner cruise. What a great experience! We will see Kai again when we return. Mahalo!
