Truly wonderful experience
This was our 5th visit to El Mirador and it was truly wonderful as were our previous stays. The staff are exceptional, special mentions to Isobel, the wonderful Letitia, Bizek, Carlos and Enrique who go above and beyond. Cannot not mention Jordan who is exceptional and works so hard. Our room was wonderful, as was breakfast every day on the stunning terrace. The wonderful Tiziana was very much missed this trip we look forward to her return. This hotel creates a magical bubble where attention is given to every detail. The serene, calm and beautiful atmosphere and surroundings are truly wonderful.

Wonderful Holiday
This was our 2nd stay at this wonderful hotel this year, and certainly it didn't disappoint. From the the check in to the departure we felt valued as guests. The staff here are all amazing, Paulo at reception, Jordan at the pool, Besik and Leticia in the restaurant are stand outs but every member of staff are a credit to this hotel. Also I have to mention Tiziana who we did not see on this occasion as she was on maternity leave but she still went above and beyond to ensure we had our room request honoured. Thank you Tiziana. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here again and will certainly be back again next year. Jeanne and Martin

Mesmerized by El Mirador
Booked through British Airways (BA) Holidays and stayed in a fabulous junior suite with sea view (#1308) from 21 - 27 September. We usually stay at the Bahia del Duque next door and in fact, I visited this hotel many moons ago when Mirador and Bahia were still one resort under the Melia brand. We were excited to try something new based on the consistent five star reviews of El Mirador. Safe to say, the countless accolades are more than deserved. The tone is immediately set upon arrival. The main entrance and lobby exude a sense of tranquility, and the check-in process was incredibly smooth, accompanied by a glass of champagne. One of my key bug bears are hotels that just check you in, slap the roomkey in front of you, and send you on your way to find the room without any explanation of the hotel's facilities and/or important timings to keep in mind (breakfast, spa opening hours, check-out, etc). Happy to report that El Mirador went above and beyond here. In the blink of an eye, the wonderful Isabella appeared who walked us through the hotel grounds and gave us a mini tour of the premises. Subsequently, Isabella passed the baton to the most energetic bellboy who accompanied us up to the room with our luggage. First impressions matter, and the Mirador absolutely nailed it. Room - utter perfection, zero feedback or comments. Hugely comfortable bed, wonderfully spacious bathroom and walk-in closet. A request for more hangers and coffee cups was met in warp speed time. Breakfast: ah-ma-zing. Yiorgi swooping in with glasses of champagne from the moment we sat down, the friendly Amilkar preparing the most scrumptious eggs, and the mother of all breakfast spreads laid out inside. Staff here are absolutely top notch. Breakfast, on many occasions, was the highlight meal of the day and really something to look forward to. Pool - the grounds are immaculately kept, service around the clock and they swing by with freebies during the day (freshly prepared cocktails, Aperol Spritzes, ice cream, etc). We appreciated the little digital buzzers by the loungers to call for food / drink - without fail, someone showed up promptly after a few minutes to take our order. We tended to venture out to the beach for lunch, so can't comment on the food offering at Las Pardelas. On occasion we rocked up late to the pool (early afternoon) and there were always loungers available. Dinner - we tried the buffet once. El Mirador restaurant looks magical at night, tables set up beautifully (mood lighting, fresh flowers) but we found the buffet overpriced in terms of value for money (60 euro / p.p., excluding drinks). I was really pleasantly surprised with La Pergola Restaurant however, probably my favourite dinner at the hotel - class all the way and excellent food (try the sea bass!) Cenador was also lovely and the head waiter (sorry, forgot your name!) has a knack for builing rapport with customers. The bar is a great place to have an aperitif before dinner, or a nightcap while enjoying the entertainment put on by the hotel which was always a treat (no magic shows or kids discos here). Shout-out to Roberto for his personal and warm service throughout our stay. Victoria from Guest Relations - what a gem. Going out of her way to speak to hotel guests, solicit feedback, and get to know everyone on a personal level - whether you're "hotel family" or a first-time guests. As close to perfection as our trip was, I would be remiss not to share some feedback and food for thought with the potential aim to improve and do even better: 1) Loved the Iberostar app, which was used frequently to consult opening times of different facilities, restaurant menus, etc. However, I do think the hotel is missing a trick here. The personalized approach can be improved by introducing a feature so you can consult your hotel bill in real-time, and track your spending. I think the thing we struggled with the most was the lack of spending visibility, which is all managed digitally through tablets and on more than once occasion, the staff will "accept" your bill on your behalf, leaving you guessing about the total amount spent. In addition, there's also no real opportunity to tip directly on a bill, which meant that we had to carry around cash constantly to ensure staff efforts were properly recognized and celebrated. 2) Treatment at the spa was OK, but there's definitely some room for improvement here - particularly when comparing to the spa next door at Bahia del Duque. I paid 160 euro for a scrub and massage but when you're left alone nearly 30 min. in different intervals during your treatment, I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed at the end of it. When you're wrapped up, why can't the therapist focus on a head or foot massage instead of leaving the room? Showering after a scrub also doesn't take 10 min., I waited a long time before the therapist reappeared. Also, when leaving, no opportunity provided to sit down and decompress with a glass of water or tea - the goodbye felt very transactional. 3) Do the dinner table / place settings have to be set out immediately after breakfast? It just seemed bizarre to me that these glasses, plates, cutlery, etc. stay out all day in the blazing sun, collecting dust - is there a possibility for the evening staff to complete this task 1h in advance of the dinner service starting? It is clear to see why this hotel has so many repeat guests who, in many ways, have become extended family of the staff and management. We initially feared that the hotel catered to a somewhat older clientele and although we were most likely some of the younger guests in attendance, we actually ended up appreciating the tranquility and impeccable hospitality. The overall vibe and mood of the hotel is elevated chic, without ever feeling intrusive or pompeous. I'm afraid that we will now be joining the ranks of those repeat guests, as we left completely mesmerized and under El Mirador's glorious spell.

Honeymoon
Our 4 th visit and also our honeymoon. Exceptional as always and the only person missing was Orlando running the sunbeds but Jordan was exceptional. He knew before you did when the umbrella needed moving. Eliza waiting on us around the grounds was also a treat because she appeared just when you needed something. All the waiters were great aswell and bringing out the treats of cocktails and ice creams was delightful and a lovely touch. Yoiry at breakfast and in the La Pergola at lunchtime was delightful. He has been here every trip we have made and is so lovely to see him along with all the other waiters as well, all friendly faces including Paola at reception, always helpful and smiling. Our chmabermaid Kelly kept our room spotless and was always happy to accommodate anything we needed. All the staff our wonderful and its hard to remember all the names. But a speacial mention to Tiziana, even though having had a baby took time to email and check all was ok, lovely touch. Finally though we must mention Carla, who did go away on holidy at the end of our first week, well deserved though, did an exceptional job of giving us a lovely room with balcony and sunbeds. Room 5023 stunning. Also acknowledging my husbands birthday, not quite how I had asked, but a lovely touch with champagne and wine in the room. Overall 10/10 and we will be back. Thankyou

The fantastic JOIA El Mirador by Iberostar!
A very big thank you to everyone at the fantastic JOIA El Mirador by Iberostar for the most wonderful holiday. We so loved the room, the terrace was perfect, and everybody worked tirelessly to ensure we were happy. Sometimes it’s dangerous to go back to a place for a second time, when you enjoyed it so much the first time round, but if anything it was even better. We couldn’t believe that we could have oysters pretty much every evening!! Wishing you our very best wishes for the months ahead – and looking forward to giving you all a very big hug when we come out to stay with you again next September!
