The butlers Edward and Danello were amazing. Their level of professionalism and service was beyond anything I’ve experienced. They were there to assist any any way that they could. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The grounds and landscaping is gorgeous. Daily and evening activities always available to make your trip fun and you don’t have to leave the resort if you don’t want to. The food is good and not having to make reservations is awesome. I traveled with 7 other couples and the sentiment was the same across the board. Great place for couples who want to wind down and escape the daily routine.

May 19, 2025Booked here instead of a new place because we went with what we know & past experiences but so far not the place it was!
Things have changed and it’s is not the place it once was! You cannot book any restaurants with reservations and it is a first come first serve basis which seems so far a waste of time. We did see people who had reservations “some how” get seated both evenings. We went for dinner the first night and instead of an enjoyable dinner it seemed very rushed not like before in past visits. No tablecloths on your table, they bring your food in a hurry ,dress codes have really changed and you are in and out in thirty minutes. Now tonight we stand a queue and they will call us on our app. But they did not, so we sat down at a table only to be ignored for 1 hour and 15 minutes and never given a menu. When we approached a manager he was great and offered to do anything we liked but it was too late and I feel bad for him as we have come to know that manager for the past 10 years. We are not sure why all the changes as we recommended this place to many others with our experiences in the past. So far we must say the hotel is not the hotel we know and enjoyed coming back to. We are only on our second evening of 7. I can see why the ratings are dropping for this hotel. Hopefully it gets better!

Anniversary trip
My husband and I just got back from Punta Cana. We absolutely loved the hotel. We had an ocean front butler suite and it was worth every penny! The balcony was by far the biggest We have ever had with 2 full size lounge chairs! We enjoyed being outside on these to watch the sunrise! Eduardo and Shester were our butlers and they were amazing! From getting special pillows for my husband to surprising us with champagne for our anniversary we couldn't have asked for 2 better guys! Love the pool area and all of the food was fantastic! Don't miss the Thurs night dinner buffet in Bella Vista with more seafood than you could ever imagine! Overall the trip was all we had hoped for!

Great resort
Best resort we have ever stayed at in Punta Cana and we have been there 7 times. Food was very good, staff was very nice, concierge was great (that service was free), grounds maintained very well. We were a group of 9 so check-in took a little bit but they were very accommodating in getting all 5 rooms very close to each other. Check-out time is noon but for an extra $20.00 an hour, we kept out room as we were not leaving until 3pm. Ocean had some very clear spots and others had a lot of seaweed-also a little rocky in places. We were able to visit the other resorts along the beach which is always nice to check out other places. Four of the people in our group had never been out of the USA or have stayed at an all inclusive resort and they all said they are going to come back. The Japanese restaurant was the only one we had to make reservations for. The 2 buffets, French, surf/turf, Caribbean, Italian restaurants were first come, first serve. We gave them a notice of when we wanted to eat at those restaurants just out of courtesy because of our large group. The pools are nice-the volley ball pool water was a very pleasant temperature especially cuz I am so cold most of the time. Several spots had nightly entertainment and on the Friday we were there, they had a foam pool party. We will definitely visit this resort again!

Love Punta Cana
We had an amazing time celebrating my birthday at JOIA Bavaro! The signature scent of Iberostar hits you instantly as you step into the gorgeous lobby. We had a swim out butler suite and Houston was our butler. He was fantastic! He helped my husband plan a nice birthday surprise and was so helpful and accommodating the entire time. The entertainment staff and bartenders, housekeeping, everyone was just great! We can’t wait to visit again!
