Professional Pedro Salinas
Pedro Salinas at the outside Akua bar/restaurant was a true professional, and very friendly. Pedro took pride in his delicious cocktails and explained everything on the menu. Lots of patients and aimed to please us guests. He made our experience very memorable and because of him, we will be back
Lovely Hotel, on one side
I stayed here for a couple of nights on business, and was stuck with "mountain view" room. Code for parking lot view. The room itself was very nice, if a bit dated, the bathroom was gorgeous and huge, with really nice amenities. The HVAC was sort of non-functional- this may be a PR thing- it was so cold, we couldn't get it any warmer, and nothing in the room ever dried, everything stayed damp. The pools were stunning, but the beach was beyond gorgeous! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the key and towel system here! They give you a comfy elastic bracelet as your room key, and it opens a towel machine at the pool- take what you need, return it when you're done- GENIUS! The BEACH IS PERFECTION! Silken sand, Blue and warm, stunning paradise! Their Ocean Bar is wonderful- mojitos! We also ate their downstairs puerto rican restaurant which I will review separately- it was very good. Was going to go to the sushi restaurant, but the only serve set rolls- no sashimi, no sushi, ONLY MAKI, period. how stupid is that? Some rooms were undergoing renovation. I would say if you can get an ocean view room- this is nice- if not maybe don't spend any time in your room except to sleep LOL
I was a little hesitant going to Puerto Rico after the hurricane, but after arriving at the Intercontinental at Isla Verde I was very pleased. The hotel was in pristine shape and except from a waterfall on the back of the pool everything else was functional. The attention and the service was great from the bilingual friendly staff. The ambience in the pool was great with DJs on the weekend during the afternoon and moving over to the beach at night. This is the kind of place that you don’t need to leave To have fun. On the other hand if you want to relax the beach is amazing with it’s hard sandy bottom and warm waters. The rooms were clean and the mattress OMG so comfortable it was hard getting up in the morning. The town near by of Old San Juan is definitely a must see if you like going 100 years in time, shop, party or just try the authentic foods. Highly recommend this hotel and PUERTO RICO 🙌🏼🙌🏼!
I was hesitant to stay here after seeing mixed reviews. I am SO glad we stayed here. Could not have asked for a nicer stay. The hotel was perfect! Hotel service was excellent and the room and the view were absolutely perfect as well. I cannot say anything bad or negative about this hotel! We had an ocean view room and the view was so lovely! The room was perfectly clean and smelled nice too! The bed was very comfortable! Hotel staff was excellent, anytime we passed a staff member we were greeted with a smile & pleasantries. Our floor & room were very quiet. We stopped by the front desk several times to ask questions and the staff was always very friendly, helpful, & knowledgeable. The pools were absolutely perfect as well! Very clean and super relaxing! We loved having access to the beach chairs & umbrellas, beach staff was also very friendly. I have traveled the world & this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. We will be back!
First Trip To Puerto Rico
This was by far the the worst vacation ever for my wife and I. The Intercontinental staff does no know the first thing about customer service, hospitality or how to make their customers feel welcomed. The hotel Room smell like a cheap roadside motel. On my last day in the hotel my wallet got stollen out of my bag in the pool area. No one to help, no one cared. It took a lot to finally get Manager On Duty to even listen to my issue. I don’t recommend this hotel and I will never return to PR. This was the worst vacation experience. Stay away from the Intercontinental Hotel in Carolina PR unless you like to pay a lot for bad service.
