    Fun chill dive resort

Nice chill vibe resort, as busy as you like it. Rocky entry, as the dock and stairs are under construction, so bring water shoes. Slight construction noise as they work all day on dock. Lots of chairs and shaded area's on bech Excellent diving resort with Dressel Divers Smoke house and buffets are great Fun interactive activities crew. They are very personable and engaging. Big shout out to Fabian, and Jerry so fun :) Great bar tenders, Reyes and David make yummy cocktails I would highly recommend this resort . Always pop over next door to Albertos beach bar for a rockin live house band and seafood

    Great resort and staff.

Came for a dive trip, but was blown away by the service, entertainment team and Pilates/yoga on the beach. Specifically Gery, Monsi, Eduardo, and Fabian with the entertainment team and Manolo with Fitness. This group makes the downtime from diving so much fun and engaging (if you want to engage) Dressel Diver also being onsite makes for amazing diving. Longest boat ride was less than 10 minutes! The resort is laid out very nicely with small casitas intertwined with a lot of trees and plants. Not like the big sprawling resorts. Smokehouse was our favorite place to eat

Second visit even better than the first!

This was our second stay at Iberostar Waves and it did not disappoint! It's as if the resort was carved out of the jungle. The folage is lush but still well maintained. The resort is smaller so if has a more personal vibe. The staff was excellent and very polite. In particular Juan Carlos went out of his way to help us anyway he could. He even reached out to their entertainment staff to have our NFL game show on the lobby TV! The food and drinks were awesome with some quality spirits available for no extra charge. We will be back next year!

    Cozumel 5 star!

Fantastic stay at this Iberostar Cozumel. As expected from an Iberostar, everything was super quality! (3rd time visit to an Iberostar hotel in Mexico, but 1st time in Cozumel) FOOD The most important thing on a vacation is quality of food and variety of food. Everything was top notch. There is a different theme for every night at the buffet. The variety is more than your eyes can see and your mouth can eat. For every taste. If you want something different, there are 3 restaurants (Mexican, Grill and Oriental). No reservation is required. We've been only to the oriental one and it was very well and worth it. Thank you to David for his service at the lobby bar! BEACH The 2nd most important thing on a beach vacation. White sand and clear water. Never has waves (because of a coral reef I assume). You have to come prepared and bring water shoes to get in the water, because there are Corals in the first few meters but then you can easily swim in a clear crystal water. No need to reserve your lounge chair, there is place for everybody. There is a pier right on the beach where boats come and go to get divers and snorkelers, but this is an advantage because you don't have to go anywhere else for an excursion. But if you don't like seeing boats, because it's Cozumel, and that's why people come here, to see Sea life, than don't go to Cozumel (every hotel has its own pier on the beach). Snorkeling is great from the beach of the hotel, especially around the pier, there are hundreds of different species of fish that swim beside you (we've seen star fish, a barracuda and other people even saw a stingray and a nurse shark). Yoga at the sunset, with Manolo, is a must!!! HOTEL AREA What makes this hotel special is the majestic flora and fauna!!!! Covered with tropical plants. As you walk in the jungle, you see flamingos, peacocks, coatis and parrots. There are even cats that live in the hotel and they are well taken care of by the hotel (vaccination, food, vermifuge). There are more green space than not and that brings a lot of shade in the walking spaces. Very clean. Service is 5 stars! All the staff is polite and helpful. ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY No plastic bottles: only glass reusable ones. Separate garbage bins for different kind of waste. No mini bottles of shampoo: big soap and shampoo dispensers. Great environmental initiative! THINGS TO VISIT The hotel is 25 min drive from the airport. We rented a car for a day at the hotel (the same morning) and went to visit Las Ruinas de San Gervasio and the city of San Miguel de Cozumel. Walking on the beach is a great way to move during your stay. On each side of the hotel, you can walk for more than an hour, seeing other hotels and beach clubs. If you have to choose an activity, than go for a boat snorkeling (or diving) excursion. Amazing! We went with Alberto's boat (reserved in the lobby of the hotel). 2h30 of snorkeling in 3 different sites (El Cielo, Columbia reef and Palancar). Thousands of fish, star fish, turles, nurse shark and even eagle sting rays!!!! (Cozumel is a world-class snorkeling destination after all)

    Perfect Scuba/Family vacation

Our third time in Cozumel, first at Iberostar. We loved the bungalow rooms, ours ocean front, and the food was the best all inclusive food we have had on the island. The dive shop was amazing, attentive and experienced in all local sites, locations and our 7 days of diving were amazing. Our 8 yr old daughter loved the pool and beach activities which were only steps from our room. We will be back 10/2025!
