Not a 5 star but met our needs
We stayed at Iberostar for 5 nights in September 2024. While the resort met our needs, it is definitely not a 5-star experience as advertised. I would rate it more of a 3-star. The buffet lacked variety and, unfortunately, not all restaurants were open every night, which was a bit disappointing. The resort itself could also use a thorough cleaning—it just felt like it needed a good scrub and a coat of paint to freshen things up. On the positive side, the staff were absolutely wonderful. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful, and that really made a difference in our stay. If you’re a scuba diver, or even just interested in trying scuba diving, the on-site dive shop is fantastic! They were knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience unforgettable. Overall, while the resort has some room for improvement, it might be worth considering if you don’t care about aesthetics.

Ok, stay not a couple’s retreat
The staff were amazingly friendly. We had an oceanfront room, it was a large basic hotel room, large shower and the bed was comfortable. Beach was very close and beautiful. Area was divided into “those that were Iberostar members” (better seats, bartenders and beach service) and the “others”. It is an older hotel and mosquitoes were abundant. The food was abundant but basically bland even in the specialty restaurants. We didn’t realize that they had just one “big” pool, the kids ran wild and it closed at 7p. This made no sense. Could hardly get to the pool bar a couple of times because of the crowds standing around. There were no servers on the beach or pool area for the regular folks, so if you wanted a drink you had to wait in line and walk it back to where you were sitting, it’s hard to carry 4 drinks without spilling. Not much to do unless you have a car or take tours. The theater was an open space and had no air conditioning and the shows were definitely not anything that had us want to stay-up for in the heat. Not likely to return to this place.

Hotel beach it’s always dirty
The hotel it’s ok service average tours ok, the beach hotel was so dirty for the 7 days I was there I try to talk about it with the hotel manager turn he was never available you got a small partion of the beach where is clean of rocks, hotel stuff pretend to clean up the beach and when they leave it’s the some there was plastic bottles plastic bags even shoes Floting on the water ayer disgusting, you need walk about 1/2 kilometre to the public beach to get a clean and well maintenance beach by the local people, I was super disappointed to see the people from the hotel walk every day to the public beach to swim in a clean water

Worst experience
Do not stay here! I had 2 different rooms booked under my name for my family and I to stay. When we arrived they would not allow us to check into the second room because it was under the same name. The hotel was not able to change the name on the second room because there reservation department (who is out of Miami) is closed on the weekends. I was told to call IHG since I had booked through them and because it was the same day they said they were not able to make changes to my reservation either. Out of desperation I took the only option which was provided to me, which was to book a 3rd room and pay again in the hopes they would cancel the room I was not being allowed to check into. 3 weeks later I still have not received a refund. The food was okay and the drinks were terrible with no options to pay for better quality alcohol. Over all the place was beautiful but not worth the money or the hasel that has come with it.
