Staff are the difference in a good vacation and a great vacation.

Food, accommodation, location and staff all excellent and they clean the beach of seaweed every day at all Iberostar hotels, I'm at Punta cana, hotel. 2 beach locations for food and beverages 1 on the punta cana side, 1 on the dominica side. When I arrived Yanibel noticed my wife and I were frequent customers, she called Beethoven and he said this is your 14 stay with us. Alex the hotel assist. manager came over to see what was happening he and Beethoven spoke and they gave us a really great location on the 1st. floor. My wife just had a serious neck operation and had a problem walking long distances. My sliding door lock was broken, I spoke to Beethoven no more than 5" after I got back to my room the repair tech knocked on the door so my wife and I could go to the returning guest event. Thanks guys for your help. Oh, I can't forget Janine in the main buffet went above and beyond also acted as my translator a couple of times. Your staff make the difference in a good vacation and a great vacation. Anthony and Gale D. 26 march to 3 April.

    Decent holiday

Overall a good holiday. Hotel a bit dated but nice. Food decent. Enjoyed the Italian and the oriental restaurant. Beach beautiful. But one large complaint. The animation team. Mister Tyson (As he like called himself). Was very aggressive when talking to guest. Very rude. When hosting shows and speaking in English he would use (blafemia) profanity. He would say f**** (maldecir) over microphone. When teaching a group of about 40 ppl to dance he turn to one guest and aggressively ask him what the f**** was doing. This was shocking and disrespectful. We have been to punta Cana 12 times and have never heard any employee openly use this language. The resort was full of family. There were many young children around when he was swearing. Now I’m not sure if he realizes how offensive this is. You could not go to a decent hotel or resort in Canada or the United States and hear any employee openly using such language. Tyson please STOP the use of this language.

Last day on the worst 5 star hotel ever , we survived 2 weeks

Last day in this hotel. After my previous review while still in the resort nothing changed. The worst nightmare! I would not recommended to anyone! Impossible to have dinner. We could not find a table again, as every night, you have the feeling that you are begging for food. I’m not sure what management is doing but they should be doing them job. I’ve end up with my kids crying that they could not have nothing the eat. So glad that we finish this really bad experience. I’m Not sure why other guests are rating this 5 stars but it’s not, probably everyone have them standards. Again the waiters were really friendly but there was nothing what they could do, if all the table were occupied were they could sit us, my oldest daughter had the idea to sit on the floor… such a 5 star hotel. The food is really basic, in 2 weeks I could not say that was anything wow… Glad that this will finally over tonight. I believe that you should not be part of Iberostar as you make the brand to look like a cheap 1 star hotel when you pay lots of money instead.

Trip with little kids - find out how it ranks

We came the beginning of April with Westjet vacations. The resort was clean and organized. Buffets offer a good, tasty variety in comparison to other places I have experienced. Good vegetarian options as well. They allow to take food outside which was a surprise to me compared to other resorts in the Caribbean I have been to. This is helpful when you have little kids/toddler who don't enjoy restaurants. Room was renovated, clean and well maintained. AC kept the room cool and not musty and too humid. What we thought was kind of annoying was that people block lounge chairs in the morning and leave their towels there for full days without even coming back to them. There is no accountability because this resort doesn't use cards in exchange for towels. A big problem for me was the kids/baby pool area. For some reason, adults decide to take the lounge chairs and umbrellas right around the baby pool leaving families of kids not being able to keep their kids in the shade. I believe it is because there is not enough chairs and umbrellas in other areas so people spill into that section as well. There should be more prominent signs. Beach is beautiful and water warm, however all chairs are too packed and there is barely space to enjoy sand (especially when with kids). The same problem with the left towels everywhere with no people laying on the chairs. There were a lot of cigarette buds in the sand which is annoying and worrysome for a parent with toddlers playing in the sand. People are friendly. I felt like I am in Spain because I heard 99 per cent Spanish speech everywhere and here. Not many families with kids here, so I am not sure if we were the target market for this resort. Kids playground is amazing but I would say more appropriate for 6+ yrs old.

Beautiful family resort but not for couple looking for peace

We stayed at the Iberostar Punta Cana from March 27 to April 3, 2024. The advantage was that we had access to the amenities and restaurants of the Iberostar Dominicana where there was the casino, shows and 4 beautiful pickleball courts. Most of the entertainment was at the Dominicana. pickleball courts. The hotel has a lot of vegetation and animals, but beware of the birds that want to bite into your plate in the morning. The buffet offered plenty of choice, but most of the time the food was cold. There is no pasta station to have fresh and hot pasta to your choice. The à la carte restaurants are varied, but some have set menus or platters to share with no choice (smoke house and seafood among others). Seafood is the snack bar on the beach or in the sand. The evening we went, it was very windy and cold, with no ceilings or walls to protect us from the wind. We were disappointed at the Oriental, where we expected to have the traditional meal on the plate, which is also a show, but this was not the case. The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff very friendly. On the other hand, it's difficult to make yourself understood in English by the staff, who aren't very friendly or helpful, despite the tips. We didn't like the fact that the staff tried to "get us on board" with a timeshare presentation and the feeling that they were trying to rip us off. The beach vendors are numerous but respectful. It's difficult to get a place on the beach because the chairs are reserved and most of the time by people who don't come to the beach all day, which is very frustrating. Even if we got up early, there were mornings when we had trouble finding a spot. Many chairs are broken on the beach. The room key was a bracelet which is very nice as well. Nice family resort but less recommended for couples looking for peace and quiet.
