We bought gold membership for the price of the silver one back in 2015. The deal was really interesting. We spent most of our vacations in the Dominican Republic. So far so good. Just be aware that our mother tongue is French and Dutch, we also speak German, Spanish and English. We live in Belgium and honestly spoken, the local service in the Dominican Republic is really ok but... all the other so called advantages are only advantages if you live in the United States. The biggest issue is their administration. We get phone calls in the middle of the night and they seem not able to understand the concept of time on the globe! All is of course organized according to the American banking rules which is most of the time not compliant with the European one. Lately, for the transport from the airport, we were called at midnight from a number in Vietnam asking us to pay immediately by phone, which we never do in our country. The price for the same transportation changed each year (more expensive or cheaper compared with the first year). Another approach of their sales force we really hate is once we are at the hotel, they keep asking you to talk for 15 minutes. Eventually if you accept they talk to you for hours trying to sell you an upgrade. We refused to upgrade and this year, believe us, we will also refuse to talk.
Family friendly stay, gorgeous and safe destination
We booked this without realizing how far it was from Santo Domingo (we booked on Expedia's site and it automatically booked it as a package). We ended up renting a car to drive over which was WAY less expensive than a transfer or taxi and the hotel had free parking. Gorgeous hotel. It was a little annoying at check in that they couldn't find us and asked us to email them our reservation but outside of that little annoyance the rest of the trip was nice. They really try to make you feel at home. We loved the buffet. We tried the Steakhouse one night (meh). We tried the Mexican restaurant one night (meh). The buffets were actually a pretty good variety that changed daily. The grounds are well taken care of. The drinks are nice and strong. The food is good. We have literally no complaints. We took an 11 year old and a 77 year old and every one had a great time at the beach, in the room, etc. The kids camp is really for kids 4-7 so skip it if your kid is older. They have a night where they have jewelry vendors come. Be careful as they will quote you $150 US for a single ring that you could buy at the town for $10. It rained about half the time but there was plenty to do. We booked our excursions before arriving at the resort (online) and we saved a LOT!!!. There seems to be a 40% mark up if you book through the hotel FYI. The coffee shop was great (and included). The spa is NOT included and a simple generic massage is $100 US. We got an hour beach massage just over the "property line" for $50 that was fabulous. Lots of birds in the resort which was really lovely. The beach sand is very soft and well care for. There are lots of little tide pools where you can see small fish and crabs walking that kids can easily and safely explore. We rented kayaks (first hour is free) and sallboats which was amazing. Everyone is friendly Most don't speak English but we didn't find it a barrier if you come with very basic Spanish. Most tours will pick up at the hotel we found which was nice. Beds are a little hard and the pillows were not the best but overall it was a nice room. Clean towels every day. Nice hot water for all four of us. Quiet room. Even TV channels that had some English channels. Lot of food options and variety. No one was bored. Gorgeous property with literally everything you could want to do right on the resort.
Our second visit
This was our second visit to this hotel and what can we say different from our first visit as this holiday was also excellent Over the years we have not visited many places for a second time so we were a bit nervous about visiting again as we had had such a good holiday the first time.We need not have worried at all from the check in to the check out we did not have one bad experience. The staff are great and remembered us from the previous year and special thanks to Brenda and Oliedy for making our nights in the lounge so good and relaxed with their great service. The star friends again were great and kept us entertained on the beach. There is a new coffee shop since last year and this we visited a few times and it was good. We really could not find anything to complain about and a first for us (3rd)we will again visit this hotel again next year

We can’t wait to return in September and thanks so much for another amazing stay at Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus.
Me and my wife spent seven beautiful days at Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus.
We like to travel and we seen a lot of all inclusive resorts in Mexico and Caribbean. We both agree that Iberostar Hacienda is the number one. Everything is beautiful and clean. The amazing landskiping, huge pool, the buildings and the rooms are extremly clean. The rooms were cleaned two times a day. The food is very good, fresh tropical fruits and delicious deserts. The personal is very friendly and helpful. The entertaiment team worked hard all day, on the beach, at the pool or at the theatre so that everybody have fun. I highly recomand this resort for everyone,
